  • this film is fucking garbage,

  • This movie was never dubbed in English, at least not to my knowledge. It's just a trailer folks.

  • the trailer is messed up, the movie is much better

  • Whats with the corporate "Audi advert" style voice-over artist.

  • I haven't seen the dubbed version, but seeing how they decided not to include any dialogue in this trailer except for "hey", I suspect it's pretty bad.

  • Even the german speaker 1000 times better.

  • she looks like johnny depp as willy wonka!

  • does anyone know what the music is called from 0:37-0:58

  • @nadirkhan2006 Check out the soundtrack.

  • @nadirkhan2006 its called 'la noyee'

  • She has nice big brown eyes ^_^

  • @TwilightOfDecember Thanks! :)

  • i'm downloading it now!! hope it a great movie!!

  • What song is playing at the end when Amelie is sleeping and the pig of the lamp turns off the light? Please tell me. This movie looks interesting! :)

  • @byronfreak319

The very last notes of "Comptine d'un Autre été : l'après-midi" by Yann Tiersen

  • I looked this up because I saw the poster for this in the guiness book of records 2012 and it scared the shit out of me so I ended up here XD

  • The poster for this always scared the shit out of me as a kid.

  • Kanaya maryam: The movie

  • @Derpdederp200 gefeuvhesvjaesvshuvjj

  • Crappy trailer, but a spellbinding, mesmerising film that speaks to me unlike any other piece of cinema.

I couldn't help myself but to learn the music from Amelie on piano and record it on youtube!!! Have a listen to it on my channel!!!!!

  • I decided to use this film for micro analytical piece in my film class. When you really study it, listen to the commentary and take notes, you really realise how genius this film is. Undoubtedly the best French film that I've ever seen, and probably the best foreign film too!

  • I don't even think there is an English dub of this movie, is there? I've only seen it with subtitles.

Besides, who would pass up the opportunity to see something in French? It's only the most beautiful language on earth!

  • I love this movie, very beautiful meaningful film

  • thank you xD

  • what is the song at the beginning of this trailer?

  • @nonniej483 Amelie Soundtrack La Valse D'Amelie [Orcherstra Version]

  • Better to watch in French methinks. Love all the little things too, like when she cracks the top off the creme brulee... oh yeah, that's me : )

  • To all you 'arguing' over subs or dubbed, you all are missing the point, yes you must watch films in the original language, with subtitles if you don't understand, even if you miss a few words of dialogue...... its about the emotion in the voice, the actors performance, the feeling... dubbed just makes everything hollow. All those who only want to watch English spoken films fine that's ok, don't watch French ones, end off. Lazy people deserve Michel Bay.

  • this is the strangest trailer I've ever seen

  • What a terrible VO script for this trailer

  • Why do americans always say thing in other languages wrong asif its not important and they dont crae -.-

  • @MrTimothytim agreed

  • One of the greatest foreign films ever. Watching it dubbed would only ruin the acting. Learn to read people!

  • >>>>>>ae<<<<<

  • watch it in french, or at least in german(its a french-german co-production). I don't find the subs that disturbing, in fact I stop noticing them after ten minutes or so. Besides, what's better: everyone speaking a language that doesn't fit the movie at all or reading subtitles and listening to the original language?

  • I really want to watch this film. I can't seem to rent it or watch it on television or youtube.....ygh. It looks really good and got great reviews.

  • @zimmyzimgir2

for fucks sake- if we want to watch it dubbed in english then we should be intitled to

it gets really annoying having to keep reading the subtitles instead of watching the film

  • @captivatingminds ikr! i so want to watch it in english!

multitasking is nt a good idea wen u want to relax and watch an amazing movie like this.. like seriously?? wht do u do, watch or read.. no watch... oh.. read!

and for the ones who dnt want the language changed to english coz of the *originality*, i wonder wht makes them watch crores of english movies dubbed an french/spanish/w.e

  • OMG ITS SO charmless IN ENGLISH !!!!

  • @electrikevin Cause that voice at the first changes so much, You must be from Quebec.

  • One of my favorite movies ever! Superb in every way - story, costumes, lighting, music. Never fails to cheer me up after a long day :)

  • uhmm zimmyzimgir, do you wanna fuck yourself?, not a good idea..

  • It's a shame that I could not have watched such a great, impressive film alike after this one. Nowadays, just like in the realm of music, we cannot encounter such masterpieces. I miss these artistical films (and music songs) =(

  • Fuck everybody that wants to watch this dubbed. French is a beautiful language and reading subtitles is no big deal!

  • @zimmyzimgir2: I'm bilingual, and after seeing several Spanish movies subtitled, I've switched to dubbing whenever possible. The amount of compression, simplification, and outright deletions in the dialogue of subtitled movies make a hash out of the dialogue. If you can't speak another language to test this, just count the words - when a two minute speech is turned to 18 words over three screens, you know you're getting the Cliff's Notes. Most modern dubs are much better, period.

  • @zimmyzimgir2 I dont want to watch this dubbed, but. Fuck you too?....

  • Comment removed

  • @zimmyzimgir2 It is a big deal if you're vision impaired and need to watch the movie for college. Your attitude is very disheartening.

  • @zimmyzimgir2 i absolutely agree! sometimes when i watch english movies dubbed in spanish i laugh because it sounds corny! i didnt mind the subtitles at all! i like hearing the actual actors voices although i didnt understand shit they were saying! lol

  • @zimmyzimgir2 Is this movie subbed? I was looking for one, but I came across the dub out of curiousity

  • @zimmyzimgir2 french is not an beautiful lang xD all they can say is noe englisha

  • @zimmyzimgir2 I'm just watching this video because I can't find a trailer with subs, which most of these people are also doing.

  • @zimmyzimgir2 agreed it would lose so much of it's feeling in english!

  • @zimmyzimgir2 i am from greece and i must allways read the subs but i agree with you frence is a wanderful language and i prefer it as english

  • @zimmyzimgir2 whoa, going a little overboard there. Just like you are entitled to your own *opinion*, others are allowed to watched the dubbed version if they please. Why the hell must you swear at them?

  • @zimmyzimgir2 TOTALLY AGREEEE!

It's my favorite movie. And it's the French that makes it beautiful . Originals no matter what form are always better.

  • what is the song in 0:35?

  • @alexa1727muse Its Yann Tiersen La Noyee

  • @cossache thank's a lot!

  • @cossache thank's a lot(:

  • @cossache thank's a lot

  • no shit this film stole my teddy bear!!!!!

  • Best film ever. And french it's so beautiful!

  • I don't think the narrator has ever watched this movie.

  • The movie was dubbed in Russia and was BRILLIANT to watch and to listen. They used professional translators and actors, and the movie never lost its charm and uniqueness.

Watching it with English subtitles was a hassle for me. I think there are enough professionals in the US to make Amelie speak English and still be French, if you know what I mean. Just like they did it in Russia

  • @philipmcjim glad you think so. I've heard about so many exemples of american morons producers/distributors that wanted to change things in foreign movies (sometimes worse than dubbing) to make it "US"

I always prefer watching something in OV with subs rather than suffering an awful or lazy dubbing (like animes: they are always horrible in french)

  • Please someone tell me what the song is 30 min into the movie when Amelie is on the couch watching the funeral and crying!!??

  • @DjHamHam411 it is adagio for strings op.11

  • @DjHamHam411 Im not sure but I think the artist is Yann tiersen because he did a lot of songs for the movie. He even has an Amélie album.

  • 0:54 The MATRIX

  • why would you watch a movie in a language you don't understand, you ppl are so stupid

  • @bigmanisreallycool

    subtitles jackass.

  • @ohwellwhateverneverm well excuse me mr tough guy

  • @bigmanisreallycool you're excused madam.

  • @bigmanisreallycool Hey there are a lot of movies that are in other languages that are great movies. What makes a movie great is the camera work and the story, not the language its in.

  • @bigmanisreallycool

um that's why there are captions that show what they're saying in english.

    dumbass.

    :)

  • oh dear, this is a crime to put english or any other language than the french one on this movie.

  • Really this needs to be seen in French...the translation does not do justice to this beautiful film...

  • @FleurPlaqueSoleil well what if we want to see the movie and don't speak french...........

  • @GrannyDances Well yes I can see where that would be a problem hehe, I've seen it in both languages I liked the tones and the usage of expressions better in its original language. If you feel comfortable, maybe try seeing it in French with English subtitles but that could be a little hard..I would definitely not let this stop you though, Watch it anyway in English its such a good film no matter what!!! :o)

  • @GrannyDances It's got subtitles in UK and US. It's definitely worth seeing in french with subtitles.

  • I DON'T SPEAK FRENCH... SO I DIDNT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING IN THIS MOVIE... BUT I UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING IN THIS MOVIE. SO MOVING! MAKES ME WANNA LEARN FRANCAIS

  • Who is àmeley?

  • THIS IS OMI-LEE

  • I'm sorry but you can't take the French language away from the AMÉLIE movie!! You just really, really can't.

  • One of my favorite movies ever. So genuine and touching. I don't think I've ever seen a Hollywood movie that inspired the same feeling.

  • Where can I watch this with english subs??

  • @Isabel489 netflix has it

  • @Isabel489 On a DVD bought of amazon.

  • This trailer almost killed this movie. the French trailer is far better.

  • hmm looks like a different movie, in an interesting way. im gonna see it

  • No wonder it didn't do as well as it could have in America. What a horrible voice over!! Not the actor's fault, it's just completely wrong or this movie!!! I'd rather not understand the French and listen to the mood of the voice than hear this again. But it's a great film...SEE IT!!!

  • Oh, the suicidal fish. ):

  • One of the best foreign films of all time, but this trailer does it absolutely no justice!

  • i need the french aspect of the movie to watch it , though the subtitles helped, just hearing the french just mad ethe movie that much better!

  • looks creepy cute, i wanna see it now

  • i love love LOVE the song at the very end even if it plays just like 3 seconds it still plays like 3 seconds

  • @nadyagallegos This is how I feel about the atmosphere/experience of the movie. ("I only get to see a movie's worth of it, but thank goodness it exists", kind of.)

  • This is a terrible, terrible trailer. Goddamn :( english translation didn't pan out

  • where is the french? douchebags.

  • is there like a french trailer with english subs anywhere? i prefer listening to the french trailer but i dont know french [which is why i came to this trailer] but yeah so is there?

  • it's not as beautiful and charming in English. French is a beautiful language to read and to listen to. Although I can't understand much of the french trailer, it's still better as the original language.

I loved this film! One of my new favorites for sure!

  • saw this! such a cute movie!!! love it, i reccomend it for everyone who loves foreign films!!

  • Yay! We're watching this in English tomorrow. I've been wanting to see it for ages.

  • I would love to see this movie just because I love the name Amélie so much!

  • i like the french trailer better the american accent sounds so oit of place with the general feel of the movie

  • I of course love my own language, English, but it's simply not as flowing or charming as French.

  • Good movie!!!

  • Ugh I hate voiceovers I would rather read subtitles.

  • @Pianoguy32113 Yea...and it seems like the same guy does voice overs for every movie...I agree with you, especially a movie as beautiful as this, subtitles are preferred.

  • those who are so spoiled that they reject this movie because it is not in English do not deserve the beauty of Amelie

  • The voice over guy just makes this bad lol The French trailer is much better, even if it isn't subtitled..you get the idea of the movie with very clear visuals.

  • This movie would totally loose its magic without the french language..

  • the story of my life, almost

  • C'EST TERRIBLE

oh gosh the american accent....... NONONO

  • It needs an adaptation. I saw this movie in Russian and it was almost as awesome as in French. This trailer is translated and recorded by some talentless dude. I'm pretty sure there is a way to make a good adaptation in English.

  • I LOVE this film, has to be my favourite film (or at least one of the top 3). It's beautiful to watch, heart-warming but too strange and un-Hollywood to be schmaltzy. Give it a go, and those who can't deal with subtitles... grow up!

  • I want that pig lamp XD

  • I love how childlike this movie is.

  • So far, ive only watched this movie in French.

Seeing the English trailer... It looks like a movie I wouldn't watch.

    Definately better in French!

  • fantastic screenplay.

  • Dubbing ruins everything...on anything.

  • Very nice movie. A piece of art

  • @lobbooke You will be able to find a clips of it on YouTube :)

  • @lobbooke look up a movie called "Betty Blue Le Matin". It was made in 1986 but its an absolute classic and one of best french films ever made :) believe me, you will like it!

  • @blade004 Betty Blue is one of a kind, unfortunately mostly unknown.

  • @ IntegraFWH

It does seem a lot like Paprika, definitely a great movie.

  • was that susan sossamon in there?

  • if u want a link to watch this movie or any movie online message me! no joke o: no dowload watch it good quality

  • is it just me, or do a lot of european women wear the amelie hairstyle? lol

  • omg you couldn't have pissed more on this masterpiece with that stupid "hollywood' narration.

  • this was a great film and it was so refreshing to watch after all these american movies :P

  • It seems to be like paprika :o ... I need to watch this movie x3

  • The language is part of the charm offensive, people who complain about wanting it to be dubbed are sorely missing the very essence of films uniqueness. It would be such a tragedy to cinema!! Almost as bad as William Shatner covering a Beatles song. Some things should just be left untouched.

  • @vickshizzle Completely agree! a guy i work with said to me that it should have been dubbed in English because he couldn't focus on the subtitles. I just looked at him and shook my head.

To dub this movie would as you said "be a tragedy"

  • @vickshizzle definitely. It wouldn't be the same in english.

  • @vickshizzle: I'M AGREEING MORE THAN EVER :D

  • @vickshizzle i agree! subtitles people!

  • @annachan1 american rednecks hate subtitles

  • @vickshizzle Completely agree.

  • @vickshizzle I approve of subtitling, but dubbing is a step too far. Has always been, if you ask me.

  • @vickshizzle I either watch subtitles or dubbed in Russian , no other language cuts it :P

  • amelie amelie amelie amelie amelie amelie amelie amelie amelie amelie !

  • This was THE best movie I have ever seen. Delightful, excellent.

  • CUNT!

  • great movie

  • Ohhh this movie looks quite awful. Trailer makes no sense what so ever BUT I'll give it a chance. One of my friends said it was great. This trailer does the movie no justice according to her.

  • You shouldn't base your perception of a film based on a trailer.

  • The Hungarian version is overdubbed. Luckily the language is great as well, and even though there is nothing like the original dubs (Especially if it's French) it is not that bad. English would not be as good. (Or German. EWW.)

  • amazing !!!!! much much better that bunch of american movies with cheap stories. this movie has amazing music and camera scenes.

  • Sounds awful in English, I really hope its never been overdubbed. Most of 'Amelie's charm and feel is the beauty of the French language, take that out and you may as well change the story or something.

  • @TheScholarsOfficial : I have the dvd and thank God the director refused to let it be dubbed. There are just a whole slew of subtitles in every language imaginable

  • does anyone know what the song that is playing is called? I really want to know.

  • la valse d'amelie or i like this one too le compte d'un été

  • @stardustfirefly500 its called le compte d'un ete

  • La Valse d'Amelie (Orchestre) and La Noyee - Yann Tiersen :D

  • This movie is magnificent! The trailer doesn't do anything for it. One of my favorites.

  • What exactly is this movie about?

  • Comment removed

  • OMFG I absolutely adore this movie is the best movie I've ever seen!!!! <3<3<3<3

  • the trailer doesnt do the movie justice

  • about fixing others life

  • The imdb rating is 8.6 and the movie is awesome
