to get stucked with lousy equipped/trained towelheads? No small terrorist threats can be handeled by FSB/GRU; speznaz and indigenous units (like Kadyrovtsy in Chechnya).

Russia needs huge armed forces with very large quantity of armor, aircraft, anti-air, anti-ship assets (and a sh..tload of tactical nukes) to deter any potential invading force.
