Permanent magnets will actually do work, if you move one over a piece of metal it will attract and "grab" it up, moving it thus actually doing work. However, the force/energy required to remove the stuck object from the magnet is the same amount as was generated to start with, thus no gain or free energy. Howerver in a vacuum/friction free environment the motion could continue for eons... but still no net energy for other usage as it would decay just like the orbit of a satellite or asteroid.

A magnet shield generates a current and resistance when a magnets field lines are cut by it. This means any magnet moving around it, or it moving through any magnetic field would slow it down.
how about trying 3 or more of these together in a line?? - space the kick backs at equal degrees to create kind of like one kick back to 2 forward motions. 2 magnets pushing forward have got to be stronger then one pushing back. tell me how it goes :)

This design will not work, you have to cancel or take away the stator from the gate, you can use electromagnet as stator or railes to take away the permanent magnet stator from the gate.
That looks more like a magnetic friction brake. Rotating magnets past each other doesn't generate energy and rotating them past metal parts causes eddy current drag.
The magnetic fields moving past the conductive materials generate eddy currents. These currents take power out of the rotation and convert it to electrical energy which the resistance of the material then turns into heat. It is a well known method of making a friction brake.
The direction that the V tracks point doesn't enter into it. Over one full rotation, the torque caused by the magnets interacting with each other averages out to zero leaving only the eddy currents to consider. More..
Eddy current losses only react to the magnitude of the rate of change of the magnetic field and not to the direction nor the current value. Reversing the curve end for end (ie: direction of the V) doesn't change the magnitute of the rate of change. Only the sign inverts.
I take no pleasure in others being wrong. The maker of the video made an honest mistake. Hopefully now that I have pointed out the error, he has redirected his efforts elsewhere and I wish him great success in whatever path that may be.
Who knows, he may really invent something useful, like perhaps a death ray. Would you want to be the guy who dis'ed him in that case? I think not. :>

BUT my impulse motor..now being installed on a tandem
recumbent electric trike will be a very nice proof of concept.
We're only talking about out of the box..ultra high efficiency ...here. and yes it does work very well.
I used to get about 40 miles on my lead acid batteries
and now, with the RIM , I get about 70-85 mileson the same
batteries, same charge...
But no free energy....shssss some republicans might hear us!
