Good to hear that ginger is going to be ok. It can cost a lot I know I spent over 400 bucks for them to tell me my dog had a upset tummy lol. But like you whatever it cost I would go with out eatting just to make sure my dog was ok..
Thankfully she is okay. It can be so unsettling when our babies get sick. My husband and I ate nothing but hot dogs for a month so we could make sure our ShihTzu had all the medical stuff she needed done when she got sick.

did you use any products when you brushed her?? my neighbors had the kennel give their dog a bath and the dog had some kind of reaction, her entire back filled up with pussy sores. They had to shave her back to clean the sores, and this is a husky, so the look is very reverse mohawk. maybe you irritated her skin when she was brushed?

She didn't get stung, but she got a cough, so we thought she might have swallowed one, or a pebble or something.. and then came the $750 story ~ Glad your's came out OK!:)
Well, what they thought was she'd swollowed some pebbles, and were trying to treat that, giving her some intravenous concoction, but to no avail~ Then as she wasn't improving, they decided on surgery to remove "whatever", and that's when they found the cancer. =-[ ...I think the cough was unrelated to the bees, but rather a symptom of what they found.. JR's are great dogs~ Kelli was SO SMART, and LOViNG!

You didn't say if there was puss in that lump of Ginger's. If there was, it could have been a cat bite. They get infected pretty fast. Get the "normal" vet to do new blood tests. Things don't really show up in the blood for about 24 hours - at least in humans, so I am guessing in other mammels as well. How is the rash? Did you change soaps?

Mine had a Foxtail in the throught. They cut from the ear base to the bottom of the neck. Got the fox tal out and Rosie dogger is just fine. Blloned up in one day just like your kid. Rosie dogger has had the same sergery twice and a threat of a zipper next time. She is fine now.

True, they should do whatever they have to do: Your pet is a member of your family. Full stop. A long time ago I had the vet perform an ultrasonic examination of my beloved guinea pig on the search for ovary cysts, so I know what you are talking about.
If at that point somebody asks me like "C'mon, how much did this cost, and compared to that, how much would it have cost to simply get a new guinea pig?" - it really makes me want to punch his nose. I'm just too damn well-educated to actually do.

My dog Buffy started to get those large growths in her later years. They are benign, and not unusual, and are essentially like liquid fat pockets. I just hope I don't get those in my later years.
Yeah, your right Zipster... They've gone animal crazy. They've even got Animal retirement communities for your pets now. Where they can go to basically retire.

This video really proves to me what a great person you are. If you have a pet it is your responsibility to get them the help they need as they are totally in your care.I am the same way. I never go to the doctor when I am sick. But if one of my animals are sick or in pain, no matter the cost, I get them the help they need.

I do not have any pets at this time and wouldn't you know it I have 2 babes in my class whose Mom's are vets, and of course they have said if we have any pets they would be glad to treat them "gratis", ha they must have known that none of us (3) have pets. My sil has 2 goldens and I know how expensive it gets.

I can understand the cha ching part because I have just spent 250.00 in the last 6 weeks on my kitty Haley she has a bladder infection and blood in her urine and 6 weeks of different med's has not touched it. I have worried so much. I cannot afford all this and I love her so much she is only 5 years old. Everyone says try another Vet I might when I have the Cha Ching for it. It is amazing how mant tests they HAVE to do when you bring them to the Pet ER. Our dog, a pug, had an issue, ended up after 500+ dollars and a trip to a Pet Neurologist, he pulled the muscles in his back. When something is wrong with our pets we will do just about anything. We are there to take care of them, as best we can. I hope all is better with Ginger today. Good Luck

That happened to a dog I use to have years ago... he got stung by a bee and his entire body swelled up. Cost me about 300 dollars to find that out from the vet.

a dog I owned passed away with a tumor/growth on her neck. I guess it suffocated her. If my dad had knoticed sooner, she may have been saved.

I know what you mean Zipster! everytime I take my dog to the vet it's almost 200 dollars but they are so worth it!!!

Mine had a Foxtail in the throught. They cut from the ear base to the bottom of the neck. Got the fox tal out and Rosie dogger is just fine. Blloned up in one day just like your kid. Rosie dogger has had the same sergery twice and a threat of a zipper next time. She is fine now.

It might have been a spider bite. My cat sometimes gets bitten and his paw swells up..big paw.

I know what you mean...If it's you, you can decide if it's worth all the money and time to waste at the doctor's or not, but if it's your pet, you always go because you never want them to be in pain. You're so sweet, Zipster!

True, they should do whatever they have to do: Your pet is a member of your family. Full stop. A long time ago I had the vet perform an ultrasonic examination of my beloved guinea pig on the search for ovary cysts, so I know what you are talking about.
If at that point somebody asks me like "C'mon, how much did this cost, and compared to that, how much would it have cost to simply get a new guinea pig?" - it really makes me want to punch his nose. I'm just too damn well-educated to actually do.

God bless you Zipster for taking care of baby Ginger. I am so like you, if my baby Chloe sneezes we are going to the vet. I am like you, I can't stand to see ANY animal suffer. It kills me. My dog Buffy started to get those large growths in her later years. They are benign, and not unusual, and are essentially like liquid fat pockets. I just hope I don't get those in my later years.

Yeah, your right Zipster... They've gone animal crazy. They've even got Animal retirement communities for your pets now. Where they can go to basically retire.
But anyway, hope ginger is fine and it's nothing much to worry about. Be sure to let us know if the antibiotics help her out.

Zipster Thank You for being a responsible pet parent! We have 4 dogs of oyur own and 2 fosters. Definately understand the high cost of vet care but would do anything as well for our fur babies:)

This video really proves to me what a great person you are. If you have a pet it is your responsibility to get them the help they need as they are totally in your care.I am the same way. I never go to the doctor when I am sick. But if one of my animals are sick or in pain, no matter the cost, I get them the help they need.

I'm glad that she is feeling better. I do not have any pets at this time and wouldn't you know it I have 2 babes in my class whose Mom's are vets, and of course they have said if we have any pets they would be glad to treat them "gratis", ha they must have known that none of us (3) have pets. My sil has 2 goldens and I know how expensive it gets.

I hope she gets well real soon. I can understand the cha ching part because I have just spent 250.00 in the last 6 weeks on my kitty Haley she has a bladder infection and blood in her urine and 6 weeks of different med's has not touched it. I have worried so much. I cannot afford all this and I love her so much she is only 5 years old. Everyone says try another Vet I might when I have the Cha Ching for it. I will say a little pet prayer for Ginger.

It is amazing how mant tests they HAVE to do when you bring them to the Pet ER. Our dog, a pug, had an issue, ended up after 500+ dollars and a trip to a Pet Neurologist, he pulled the muscles in his back. When something is wrong with our pets we will do just about anything. We are there to take care of them, as best we can. I hope all is better with Ginger today. Good Luck

That happened to a dog I use to have years ago... he got stung by a bee and his entire body swelled up. Cost me about 300 dollars to find that out from the vet.

When your baby is sick, you will just do anything for them. Aren't you in the PA area? I have a dear friend who is very VERY good if you hate your vet. (Ruth L. Heller, DVM.
