I may have seen a better movie than The Fall, but if I did, its not coming to mind. The movie travelled so far, geographically, psychologically, emotionally. You are fortunate if you have not seen it; you can enjoy its wonder for the first time. Learn more about it afterwards and its appeal may deepen even more. Had I known or been aware of Tarsem and his dream I sincerely would have prayed for just such an end.

Just because a film has a great cinematographer and shot in exotic locations doesn't mean it's a masterpiece. The script was weak and the little girl is too hard to understand. That's why the critics are split down the middle. What one person considers a touching scene another might find laughably amateur.

I´m sorry to hear...eh...read that, buddy. I guess you´re just more mainstream than fans of this movie. You don´t have to watch The Fall if you don´t like it. I mean it´s simple to slam things, but to create them is very complicated. It took Tarsem Singh 17 years? to find such locations.

In terms of the script, you are right. It was weak and at times quite amateurish that I found it dragging.

But the little girl and Roy's relationship was so incredibly sweet that I wished they delved more on that than the story telling. Like when was the turning point when Alexandria began to think of Roy as her father? stuff like that. Their relationship and chemistry compensated for the weak points in my opinion.

the turning point i think was when she changed the masked bandit from her father to Roy. At least thats what I saw it as and it seemed to pop out :-/

The kid in this movie is impossible to understand. Her accent and baby talk was annoying. Great visuals but what an annoying casting choice.

No, I have to disagree. Thqat twinkle of a kid in your eye had a mouth full of rock. Those scenes with her were boring. She COULD NOT BE HEARD. I have a beautiful 5.1 sound system I cranked up and my wife and I were baffled by her mumbling baby talk.

Der Film wurde soweit ich weiß auf der Berlinale "2006?" gezeigt.

Naja egal...Du kannst dir den Film auf DVD bei Amazon bestellen. Der wird aber erst am ´24. Nov. veröffentlicht. Hab Geduld.

This movie was freaking AMAZING. The New York Times reviewer can kiss my lilly white ass in giving it a bad review...obviously he doesnt have the imagination or wasnt held as a child to understand this film. If you havent seen it...GO SEE IT. I promise you itll be like nothing youve ever experienced before, it blows Pan's Labrynth out of the water.

lol well said molly. Another difference between pan's labryynth & the fall? Not a single digital computer effect used in this movie, and its probably one of the most visually artistic films ever made. Now thats just unbelievable!

OMG this movie was AMAZING! If you havent seen it RUN to the nearest theater playing it and WATCH!!!!

Also, this is NOT an R rated film!!! Spider Man was like ten times more bloody and sexy than this film. I have NO IDEA what the rating people were thinking!!!

it's a complicated story, but ultimately i would say it's kind of a treatise on the art of storytelling itself. I would suggest watching it and finding out for one's self. A visually stunning movie that challenges the formulaic storytelling style of modern Hollywood.
