I tested the speed of the SSD with HDtune and as expected it had a really low latency but not higher read speeds than 30MB/s. My fast new magnetic hard disk does 130MB/s. So is your speed 55MB/s? Weird, it looks sooo much more responsive than mine.

@MarijnvdZaag it is not about the faster direct speed but speed it can write small files aka random 4k write. So even your hdd is "faster" my ssd opens stuff faster as it can write small files faster. Some ssds write 10 to 50 times faster 4k randoms than any hdd.

One last question, How do the 900's stand up to emulators? I bought the dell mini 10 and it doesn't stand a chance for a simple psx emulator.

Hello sir, Dumb question on my half, but Will this process work with a regular eee pc 900? It has a 16g ssd and runs xp. My ssd took a fat shit on me, and it costs way too much to buy a new ssd.

I don't care if it doesn't fit, ill work around it, or modify the casing.

I bought 3 of the 900's (for my service department), thinking the performance would be the same - but was sorely disappointed.

I'd like an Asus (got a 701 and a 900). I'd like to get hold of a Runcore SSD because it'd make the machine cross the line between gadget and 'useful tool' - a 900 with a large SSD would be perfect as a light-weight, fully functional mobile system with my whole development environment on it.

Your wait is over look at price to performance. This part is 3-4 times faster than any mobile HD we have tested and 4-6 any mobile pci-e ssd. You only pay 2x the price of an old school 1.8' spinny loud paper weight. SSD's time has come.
