Does anyone know if there is a modern CD with all the funny Christmas songs on the Barron Knights did? I've looked at Funny in the Head and they don't appear to be on there??
The track 2Live in Trouble" is available on the Barron Knights 50th Anniversary CD. There are also two stop frame animation films on Youtube: "Mr Bronski meets Mr Evans" and "Gas Board Bill". Unfortunately Butch Baker has retired from the band but I believe he puts in an appearance now and again. But Pete Langford is still going strong with them and it's a treat to see them live.
This brings back memories from my childhood, happy days!
From memory, these songs were on a cassette my dad used to play, also was a top 40 countdown the BK's did, something about the swindon cowboys club and a song that started -
"oh lord it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way,
i can't wait to look in the mirror, cos i get better looking each day"...
A long shot, but does anyone have any ideas of the album these were on & where i can get a copy?
"Long ago, outside a chipshop in Walthamstow, was a young rocker called 'Greasy Joe ' he put on his skidlid and said 'lets go' he was keen off up the highstreet like Barry Sheen, doin his best to look very mean till he met Anne on her new machine... Running away together brumming away in leather Anne and Joe... They passed the bloody tower at a hundred miles an hour and they was so amazed the tower bridge was raised they went right off the end and landed in the thames Hand in hand.
Brilliant I remember them acting this out on T.O.T.P. this was the Christmas follow up to A Taste Of Aggro fantastic comedy songs, thanks for posting this, much appreciated
Brilliant! I don't suppose you have the whole album it came from? I had Jesta Giggle years ago, and can't find it for love nor money! Is there any chance you could send it to me (and any others you may have... if it's not to cheeky!!)
Thanks for commenting.. I only put this up as I found it on Xmas eve and it was too late to put it onto a CD for my sister... so I stuck it up here and sent her the link and now this video's had almost 3000 hits.
Thank you for this festive feel good track - brings back memories of my blue boogie box -Delightful flashbacks of our cousins attending our mini disco!!!!!!

I think it's the Barron Knights song Ann and Joe.
It is the mickey take of Brotherhood of Man's Angelo.
It begins, "Long ago, outside a chipshop in Walthamstow".
