  • loved the crescents !! great parties

  • Great Post. It's part of Manchester's history. And not as much dog s**t on the floor as I remember.

  • When I lived there 1980/81 you couldnt go and cash your giro on your own as you would be relieved of it

  • which crescent, any idea?

  • Charles Barry crescent.

  • @GriefTourist its otterburn close & bonsal st at the end which would of been still lived in at that time though about 50% squated

  • not as bad as the ferrier estate south east london thats gettin knocked down aswell

  • In the late 80's / early 90's Hulme was considered the UK's roughest , most deprived area. It was considered a no go zone even by Greater Manchester police.

  • Nah! It looked rough on the surface but I never felt intimidated there - it had a few scumbag scrotes around but most of the residents were Students , Crusties and Trustafarian middle class slum cruisers trying to be more Bohemian than the next dreadhead. Working class white estates like Ancoats/ Collyhurst / Miles Platting were and still are a LOT rougher - and as for Salford late 80's and 90's - that was real hardcore crim scary...phew!!!

  • london isnt even that bad stop bsing u should consider being lucky living there

  • Such a Sh!t hole

  • Thanks again.
