Thanks for sharing but I'm old school - Led Zeppelin 1977 night #2 Cincinnati. The greatest concert I ever saw!! This drummer missed several triple kicks on the bass drum which Bonham did with one pedal. Thanks for the effort though - music is still the nector of the gods. Hope all is well - Hoc
After checking out the whole series of videos with Page and The Crowes I really respect the sh!!t out of Steven Gorman as a drummer!! The remaining Zeppelins should draft him on drums whenever they play at their rare events!
I usually hate covers of my favorite bands' songs, even with one of the founding members because it rarely sounds right but with Jimmy playing with them, Gorman coming about as close to Bonham's playing as you can get and Chris's vocals I love it.
Here's how I think of this collaboration. Pretty much any band on the planet is going to answer the phone when Jimmy Page calls. The next thing they're going to do is drop whatever plans they had to go jam for however long Mr. Page wants. With that in mind I'm not surprised he called the Crowes. I'm sure there aren't many bands out there that could pull it off. The Black Crowes are just that good.
It looks like everyone onstage is having the time of their lives, and can you blame any of them? They're jamming with Jimmy freakin' Page! Is there anything new here? Nah. But there doesn't need to be. It's just flat out fun.
The Crowes in those days were the best Live band around, this gigs with Page are historical as they combine the powerfull crowes sound with the Led riffs by page and Chris's great voice at times so close to Plant, it is amazing music, for yet another generation.
I've never heard Chris Robinson sound better. his brother is doing fine guitar work too. these guys really should've done 20 years of this quality. I wonder why not. Their first record was great.
@avsbmn7 I saw them in 90 or 91, I think Chris was a bit drunk so it might not have been their greatest moment, but it was good, before the flood of mediocre albums. I'll give them a try again if they come to Calgary, and its not too expensive
@downeybill if you think the Crowes have done a flood of mediocre albums, don't even bother going to Calgary even if they are performing. You don't deserve to see them anyway.
dude I so love the bass players groove. I think I might like this version better than the original. well duh it's a live performance feeding on the crowd....
Maaan! I had tickets to see this incredible show in New York City, and of course, with my bad luck, Jimmy Page throws his back out and the show gets cancelled :(.
Enough Jimmy Page Bashing, He was responsible for some of the greatest music ever made(and a few ripped off too) Lets see where we are going to be at age 65. Are we going to be playing music in front of thousands of fans and thousands more watching us on youtube. I dont think so!!!!
Wow, Jimmy Page with a slight timing issue, which only goes to show he really is God, after all, God fucked up big time on the sixth day when he created man.
Man please help me here the 90's came roaring in with talent carrying on a classic rock with a new sound even in the West coast and Poof!! WTF happened?
Jimmy Page is the daddy!! I know there are better technical guitar players out there, but for riff writing, song writing, blues, acoustic, folk, mellow, hard rocking, stage prescence, producing, finger picking, mystery and for just down right spine tingling brilliance, no one is better that Page. He has that complete, 100%, sold his mysterious soul to the devil, 100 % rock star!!! Thats what I want my rock heroes to be like!!
it is awesome i admit and i love plant nd chris did him justice! no one can out do plant though lets not get crazy but as far as someone doing zepplin this is insane! great white is one of the best covering zep and they didnt have page to help them check it out if ur a real fan if not shut up about everything! u idiots drive me crazy u knw nothing bout great music! now blast me bout my spelling!
can somebody tell me where can i get "your time is gonna come" from this show, coz what did jimmy in this song is sick, but i lost the track, if somebody could post it, that would be awsome
Hey, Listen... I am a HUGE fan of Led Zeppelin... I mean Wow... They are the very best in the world.. I love Robert Plants voice... I love everything about Led Zeppelin. But I gotta say.... The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson does a mighty fine job of singing their stuff... God damn his voice is uncannily similar. If he really tried to sing every little nuance in the songs, I'd have an awfully hard time telling it wasn't Robert Plant. Heh... Bizarre....
I remember when this happened. Jimmy called Rich Robinson, wanting to play a few shows with the Crowes. They already had a tour planned, but as Chris Robinson said, "When Jimmy Page calls and says he wants to do some shows with you, you don't say, 'Let me check my schedule'." Needless to say, the tour was postponed and now we have this.
like damn like u u come pare these guys 2 zeppline, every one knows there not,but give them credit for playing the song right and good, and of course there not ganna be zep cuz there not zepp
I COULD NOT AGREE MORE.I HAVE SEEN SO MANY BAND LIVE THAT JUST DISSAPOINT.IN MY OPINION THE CROWES PUT ON THE BEST LIVE SHOW IN THE WORLD.I ONLY WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THEM WITH PAGE.I DO HAVE A 2 DISC CD OF THEM ,THOUGH
@rodentcafeteria bought this c.d for 18 bucks in 1998 or 9 cant remember!... either way soooooo well done! i wanna play guitar with jimmy page!!! iAM worthy!!!
Unbelievable cover. Better than Zep could possibly pull live. three guitars cover all of Page's overdubs on the studio version. Robinson sings his azz OFF and their drummer is fcukin' AWESOME.
Their drummer is capable.. He doesn't have the feel Bonham had though. And listen to the version of this song on How The West Was Won. Zep did this better than these guys could ever hope to.

look .. zep fans no offense here .. i myself am i big zep guy .. but chris robinson takes this song to a new level .. i'd rather here him sing this with jimmy then robert .. zep reuinin should be a tour with the crowes with chris on vocals .. just what i think .. 5*
