Guh-nome ???? So what are the ornaments some people have in their yards? Lawn Guh-nomes. Thought it was pronounced as one syllable, though i may be wrong. Great video though man, other than the Guh-nome distractions.
Great work David! This program is exactly what I need, especially on my laptop since I hate using the touchpad as my navigation. There's one thing I've been wondering - Is it easy to modify how GnomeDo looks like?
oooooooo Gnome Do is so quick! It's so quick it hurts?
I hurts that I've just spent a full 30 minutes (!)!(!)!(!) trying to figure out what friggin hot-key should be used to 'BRING UP DO' .... Finally: you made it, after a full 2'23" you accidentally mention 'Command-Space'. From there it was just another 10 seconds to finding that 'Command' means 'Windows' on my keyboard.
Why is this not (1) on the wiki (2) in the manpage (3) in the 'fist-launch' dialog ?!?!?!
Sorry, couldn't help myself. Great program by the way, I've been running it for about a week now on Ubuntu 8.04 and I have to say, you've gotten me rather addicted.
Screw you Applications toolbar! We don't need you anymore!
i like the way u pronounce kant O_O

Just pronounce it like the normal gnome. Saying guh-nome sounds really stupid.
Even if its an acronym its very common to pronounce acronyms like similarly spelled words.

how is this different from deskbar?
and what about easystroke gestures for quick launch of applications or commands?

crassify, "GNOME" is an acronym with a pronunciation that differs from that of the word "gnome."

Gnome is WM (Window Manager) for UNIX-like systems (think Linux)...

I know what Gnome is, but what's Guh-nome?
jigglesnap 3 years ago
it's the proper pronunciation. Just like GNU is pronounced guh-noo. Check wikipedia.

I think you mean "dorky pronunciation".

Or Jee En You.

actually it's a "desktop environment" like KDE, and it includes the metacity "window manager" in it.
