  • These fools are fishing in what appears to be a man made river. Look at the rocks behind them. Its no wonder the fish are big, theyre being fed.

  • Nice spawners. Way to fish during the spawn. We need more fishermen like you guys.

  • Why would u tag this with chris brown and rihanna?

  • What was the biggest( in pounds )

  • They're not that big.....

  • @Lwils911 show me bigger brown trout than the few at the end of this video...

  • looks like spawners on egg patterns, but hey, they're big!

  • Lovely fish !

  • Magnificent fish, a real art required to catch a brown. Kick ass soundtrack too. Nice job

  • @37enjoylife - april vokey doesn't have any videos of brown trout. but she is very fun to watch, i will give you that.

  • That's some nice fish, congrats :)

  • theyre ok

  • where's this at? which river?? the browns in the bow river don't get that big, well maybe some

  • wow,,, I've never seen someone take grief over catching a releasing a bunch of beautiful trout like that,,, great video, thanks for sharing.

  • Good to see that you actually know how to handle fish.

  • Wow stumbled on to this vid, used to fish this stretch before it was famous in a blizzard and scorching heat. Missed a few years went up and had to quit so crowded. Couldn't even roll cast :( but good to know still big fish.

  • Nice fish. GET RID OF THE FREAKING EXCUSE FOR MUSIC. ITS GIVING ME A STOMACH ACHE.

  • @blueangels412 i didn't make it, i just chose it... watch something else, perhaps a fishing video that has soothing ocean sounds or whales talking or something.

  • @mtbpt I love the browns, love Alice in Chains, love carp, and I hate haters!

  • @blueangels412 how can you say that, this is one of the worlds greatest rock bands. alice in chains.

  • Some beauties. Check out our page, we have one really nice brown

  • The music on this video is shocking guys. Trout fishing doesn't go with such music!!!!! As a trout fisherman, I have caught much bigger brownies than these, but they are still a good fish. Good to see them released.

  • Nice fish man :)

  • Wow, slayin those browns, great fish dudes.

  • Nice fish, but the title of this video is a load of crap. I've seen bigger.

  • @Braator1200256019 show them to me!

  • the tape measure was sagging every inch

  • @tmholbrook - so was the fish... but the big one was not the one being measured, that fish was 30" or so. thanks for watching - mt

  • what lake you on???

  • big hole????? is that where you where looks like it but not sure

  • just wondering if that was a tracking tag why were you guys looking to pull it off? I have a friend who caught a tagged fish once, you usually just take the number on the tag and report it to the source.

  • @andrewh4

hello, we weren't trying to remove the tracking tag. just trying to clean it off. the tag was very worn and it was covered in green slime. the numbers on the tag were impossible to read. it was like 375...something. hope that explains it. i have video of another tagged fish in "brown trout like you read about"

  • @mtbpt I see, well those are some tanks anyhow sweet video

  • Are you kidding me.....I use this size for bait.... seriously nice fish good job

  • my thoughts can be portrayed in one word, jealous

  • nice fish but giantbluemarlin is correct..but exaggerated..you need to pull the measuring tape..there was slack but i would say give or take those were like 24 inches at the least..

  • Awesome.

  • It must be the brown from hell !!

  • It must be a brown from hell !!

  • I got a couple outta the dream stream about that size this year, mine were all a little lower, more near the flats than the big bend

  • Alice in Chains and some nice brown trout.........NICE

  • Some of the measurements look a little conservative. I mean, if you put a bit more slack in that tape and ran it around a couple of trees, the MT border and the whole coastline of N America, as well as failing to pull it tight or keep it straight, that fish was *at least* 20000miles long! Lol. Seriously, lots of nice fish there. Released too. Well done. But shoving them in the camera and cheating with the tape undermines it IMO. Let's see some honesty.

  • @giantbluemarlin good points... all good points. he could have been that long. however, the big one was not shown being measured, earlier in the vid. timing was a consideration, measuring fish was not a big deal and we did not keep any of the fish in the net for long. big, fun, fish, any way you look at it. thanks for watching - mt

  • @giantbluemarlin thats pretty much what I was going to say, well done

  • nice catfish

  • nice man sooo luckey

  • way to go!

  • i know where this is! Dont want to give it away but ..............Green river?

  • WHERE WAS THE FISH!?! y did i Just watch a video with a bunch of pictures of nuclear submarines? change the title!

  • @mjdietle

click to 1:12... thought you might enjoy looking at some other browns too... guess i was wrong. thanks for watching anyway - mt

  • @mjdietle That took me a while to click onto what u meant there haha!

    Best Regards,

    ~David

  • they look like salmon

  • @mw2hakks haha bad grammer :p

  • flyfish108,, go hate somewhere else,,I fished the Provo river when 10-15 pound browns were common,,then the bigs ones were caught when they came out of Deercreek to spawn, you want to call bullshit, put your money where your mouth is,,I can still get fish there during the right conditions at 10-15 pounds,, but I don't need to prove nothing to you hater,,Unless you got money for your mouth

  • what river is this in?

  • I've seen/caught bigger ones here in Finland. Nice trouts though :)

  • @mtbpt stagging spwaning brown trout or cast glow bugs is not flyfishing guys... grow some ethics.

  • @mw2hakks Let me see colored up brown trout in fall colors? You azzholes are fishing to spawning brown trout. Real ethical... standing and jumping all over the reds I'm sure... way to be stewards of the river, NOT! I like the one shot where you taking the hook out of the fishes side... Stagging brown trout is illegal right?

  • Beautiful..

  • should leave these fish well alone while they are spawning!!

  • isn't that a sea trout

  • @Grufalo1000

...no, these fish were caught in colorado

  • @mtbpt looks like patagonia to me

  • What a toad! Good work!

  • those are some good looking fish. Beautiful countryside. You gotta hook up with a 4yr old steelhead in the river. Pound for Pound one of the greatest fights a fisherman can get. Check out my vids.

  • Absolutley beautiful brownies, thanks for sharing this on Youtube.

  • saw some about that big jumping today. 2 or 3. Could only get the rainbows though.

  • @Vinnygil

i am always amazed when i see the really huge ones...

    mt

  • i have seen and catch a bigger one but a nice fish

  • I use to average 10-15 pounds on the provo river during spawning season, now that they have change the river it,s not the same. my biggest on the provo was 19 pounds caught on a number 4 mepps algia long. So sad that they have to destroy a good river just to make more money,, Peace to you Go get the big ones, I live in minnesota now, great muskie fishing, bass and northern pike,, check it out if you get time... kidskicksforchrist or Chuck Wallace

  • @KidsKicksforChrist U never caught a 19 lb fish on the Provo. U are up in the night! Bullshit!

  • I caught a 32" male brown trout with a kipe while fishing for salmon and steelhead on the Salmon River NY. Which was this columbus day weekend.

  • what river did you catch that monster on!?!? biggest i've ever caught was a 15 in. brown on the gallatin....except i'm only an 11 yr old girl lol

  • Looks like some of those legendary monster Colorado browns.

Good to see you on a fly rod. ;)

  • @plasterdbastard

  • @MTFishingPr0

i love the missouri, she's got big fish... thank you!

  • This is a badass video and those are some badass browns regardless if they were caught on private or public water. The music makes this video that much more epic. Nice job on the whole thing

  • thats badass

  • no doubt....sick fish...but did I see a foul hook at the 23 second mark? ooops.

     Nice vid guys.

  • @luvgeetar ,

haha, glad you asked... believe it or not, mike just picked the line up with his hand, but the little white thing in the back of that brown was actually a tag with the number 375!

  • nice fish, the platte is a nice secret for pigs

  • Comment removed

  • Dude thats such a huge brown! I thought my buddy and I were catching some big ones. Great job!

  • Those are definitely not the biggest brown trout I've seen.

  • Hi I'm writing from Scotland, nice fish! It looks like there is a fair bit of a racial difference in 3, 000 + miles. They look very different in colour from Scottish fish. Is it a cannibal? In Scotland we sometimes see big brownies with a "kipe" (the hooked projecting under- jaw, but only on cannibal trout. Male Atlantic Salmon get it when they return from the sea to mate.

    What weight was it?

  • @mtbpt Where you fly fishing?

  • emmense catch ! :)

newbie to trout fishing myself any tips m8 im from uk.

  • Looks like you guys are catching controled Trout with nets, no poles. LOL!!

  • those are really nice

  • nice fish i catch big ones lik that in rode island

  • At 00:31 that's a ferox trout I think

  • awesome fishing

awesome alice in chains soundtrack ....

  • weak....lake fish...

  • I don't know of a single "wild" river in Wyoming that has uniform boulders along the bank. Is that Orvis property or some other maintained water? Nice fish for sure, it just looks like a stream that has been built and is totally private. I have never fished the eastern side of the state though. Maybe that is the Platte?

  • @5hundie

this is on a public stretch of the south platte river in colorado. this part of the river has been modified by the state to reduce erosion and maintain habitat for the fish.

  • @mtbpt

I have heard that the Platte is incredible for big fish. I guess you have proved the rumor true! I catch some pretty nice fish on the South Fork of the Snake also. I kind of feel guilty catching them during the spawn because they are so easy to catch, it almost feels like a fish hatchery haha.

  • cant belive it...

  • Went trout fishing today out here in Georgia And caught 5 rainbows and 1 brownie....but I would really enjoy a trip to colorodo...it's hard to get there stating the fact that I am 15 years old.....haha

  • what did you catch him on?

  • @jazzmusicplayer

    peg egg on 2x flouro

  • Awesome fishing !

  • looks like lake spawners coming up into the platte or something...

  • dream stream id say....wink

  • That is a monster I still say Penns Creek, Pa has the US record brown trout in it.

  • Great video man, well done. Makes me wanna get out there right NOW!

  • @mtbpt my point was that if you want to handle fish like an amateur, then go and hang out with the amateur fishermen.

look, i know you guys are guides, and your skills are obvious to any experienced fishermen, but the way you are handling those trophy specimens is just plain wrong. you may think you have done no harm, but you have no idea of what your poor handling has done after the fish has swum away. improper handling has been proven to lead to increased mortality rates.

  • nothin but haters..... yall great vid and beautiful fish way 2 go

  • Suitable ACE-These guys are holding these Browns just fine, and no harm I am sure came from it. These fish are monsters, and there is no way an amateur, as you put it, could successfully land these fish. Nice wideo ! Just tell me the State you were in?

  • Great video. Those are some serious toads.

  • What kind of tippet strength would you recommend for these browns?

  • WOW!!!! Some Gorgeous trout. I got to fish in Colorado once, years ago...only there for a week, but ill never forget Gunnison river or lake San Crystobal. Great video, thanx for posting.

  • wow wow wow!!!!

  • i hate it when people release trout, there good eatin

  • @caleb9608, u are fucking crazy if u hate catch and release!!

  • are you in montana?

  • @markyt12 ,

    ...colorful colorado

  • Awesome video , huge trout. We fish brookies here in the adirondack mountains, ny state. Definately not nearly as big as your fish, but fun to catch. Stop onto our page and check out some brookie fishing.

  • Gorgeous browns fellas, fair play to ya!! I've seen a few vids of brown trout fishing in N America and noticed how big they get. It seems that there are lots of 7lb+ browns swimming around. Here in the UK you're lucky if you find one bigger than 2lbs. Anyone know the reason for this disparity in size between browns in N America and browns in the UK?? After all, these browns are not native to N America and were introduced years ago, so those in N America and the UK are basically the same fish.

  • wow dude beautiful fish

  • Nice fish but Not at all the biggest browns I've ever seen check out our fishery here in the great lakes, we get some serious HUGE Browns! Great colors of the fish!

  • Big hook jawed male browns are definately the meanest looking member of the trout family. Great video.

  • Absolutely gorgeous fish!!

  • if not the biggest, for shure the most beautiful... 5/5 *

  • thanks fellow fisherman!

  • HAHAHA, ALICE IN CHAINS!!!

  • nice fish= 5 stars

  • thanks!

  • So nice!

  • Here in the uk i fish for wild brownies at CAISTRON LAKES, and they have been reported to grow up to 7lb, but i reckon 10lb brownies haunt the lakes. Brown trout are the most beautifull coloured fresh water fish here in the uk. I am happy just catching 1lb river trout all day long.

  • i am happy catching any brown trout also... thanks for sharing poplesog!

  • Sickter! Toads between the Res! Looks like some tactical snagging though Mike!

  • Sweet look'n 'leopard trout'! We catch em here in lake ontario cruising the shoreline in the fall. My personal best is an 18 lb hen. Another memerable fish is a 16 lb. hook jaw buck! I think the record brown from lake Ontario was around 34 lb's!

  • Try Milw ! Those browns in the video are average. Avg brown is 24in 8lbs. Up to 20lbs and better

  • Awsome Browns!!!

  • very nice!

  • some lovely trout there

  • Look up the world record brown trout caught in Manistee, MI on the Manistee river. 41lbs, 7oz. about 44 inches long!

  • how can i find that trout

  • Oh I guess I should say Greg, that moved to Idaho to work at Hyde boats. He should know who I am, he better! LOL

  • I used to fish with Mike Thomas a lot. He is a helluva fisherman! Fished the dream stream, cheeseman, Fryingpan and Gray Reef with him many times in the early 2000's. Lost contact with him, tell him Greg said hi and wants to fish sometime soon!

  • I really respect the fact that you catch and release. At least that's what I gather from the last frame of the video.

  • That is where i will be next fall!

  • i knew it...

  • I always thaught brow trout refered to a log of shit in the water. damn dude you sure know how to fish
