You know this must be a US thing, Apart from when they're wearing their traditional clothes or hair styles I can't tell a Jewish person from anybody else. Don't misunderstand me I'm not saying this is bigoted but in the UK we don't put people into groups like say Italian or Polish unless that is their nationality. However US people do if they are of that descent. Is this related to immigration do you think?

@2011littlejohn1 due to the restrictive immigration policies of the last century many people where not considered “real” americans at one time or another. i.e. irish, italians, japanese, chinese, mexicans/any central and south americans. The longer they stay, the more they “assimilate,” the more “real” americans begin to accept them (then the newest immigrants in turn become the “foreigners”). But this is the 1960’s, so the Jewish thing is probably just plain old racism.

I'm afraid I have a little problem with that now as, without even the slightest racist impliction - I can't refer to a certain kind of western movie as Cowboys and Native Americans - it just scans wrong. :) But have to use just "western" which is less specific.

I think each one of us has felt exactly like Mr. Beechcroft at one time or another. Honestly, even at this moment I feel a bit like him however, its not really the people as much as it is the ideas they "subscribe" to in life.
