  • what kind of wire did you use for the housing?

  • Im doin this and makin this alot smaller, and im building it into my pen(: TAKE THAT YOU STOOPID MATH TEACHER BITCH!!!!

  • from where you get the aixiz module?

I live in swiss, can i also get the module?

  • @akei98 yes infact i have a couple of them on the way from w w w . aixiz . c o m

u have paypal.. just go to their site and buy an aixiz module

Otherwise i can hook you up, i am in Bern.

  • MEN a question i can do it that laser but whith a 2w diode blue or green laser to make the POWA EXTREME ? or there are limitations of that atte: DR DOOM XDXD

  • 1:43 :O

  • Can normal sunglasses replace the goggles?

  • @spartanredteam fuck no! can normal eyes be replaced by buttons.. Seriously!?

  • Take the hard drive out of the computer and keep it as well, and also the RAM if you want.

  • Comment removed

  • @hamisheagling you have to check for quality of the laser your buying first

  • awks cos u can buys lasers off ebay for cheaper xP

  • Thumbs up if you liked the video (or not) and didn't try through...

  • When you say "a little effort", do you need to use the chainsaw?

  • I'm a tad confused. According to the datasheet, the LM317's center pin (2) is Vout, but you attached it to the Adj pin....am I missing something?

  • @TriFrce Yes, you are correct. He soldered one lead (doesn't matter which) of the resistor to the V out pin, and the other side to the ADJ. pin. then soldered a wire to the ADJ. pin and used that as his +. Hope this helps!

  • @TriFrce it is actually the other way arround.. center pin is v adj.

So does with the lm1084 and lm1117

For instance , if u havent bought.. buy lm1084/1085/1086 any one of these three

These are Low Dropout voltage regulators , puts out less heat and are capable of higher currents at much better efficiency than lm317.

  • What The hell is the aixiz Module..??

  • Out of curiosity, if it's a burning laser, how come at 3:29, it didn't burn your hand? You didn't seem too phased by it.

  • @8oredp3rson When the dot hits not black surfaces, most of the light power is reflected and not absorbed. Thats the reason why he uses black tape and matches.

  • Make the thing stronger, wider, and not go as far, then you have a light saber.

  • Lightsaber!!!

  • Will this work?

DIY 5mW Green Laser Module Diode

  • i don't want it to I'm just asking.

  • can it go through your hand?

  • burn more things

  • why didn't you take the processor away from the first heatsink before you put it on the ground

  • Hi , I Making My Own Laser . I Have A Laser Housing , But I Have A Question . Does A 300mw Compatible With Any Driver ?

  • @97221135 no

  • @lman638 Can You Tell Me What Driver Is Suitable ?

  • present current 300 mA driver 2.5v just look up flex drive it is the first one.

  • @lman638 Thanks . My Laser Diode Is 300mw 808mn . My Driver is Compatible With 808 mn laser Diode .=D

  • I didn't wear goggles when working with that strong laser...

  • Is this video age restricred due to the fact that they don't want teenagers running around with alien technology? :P

  • 0:50 Dude... theres a fucking chainsaw! :D

  • I hope you have savety glasses!!!

1 hit into your eye and that eye is blind

  • Can someone please tell me what are the color on the resistor?

  • 3:29 That should hurt if its real!?

  • OMG is that gateway RDRAM I see?

  • Like if you saw this 8O

  • I was curious about the power supply part. I clip and strip a green wire to black. Then i choose any yellow and red wire to solder to my driver? Can i just clip off all the other wires at the board, or just leave them.

  • My friend is an engineer and he says that there's no way a usual dvd burner can emit that much power, and that they only have like 1mw or something. is that true?

He says this video is a fake...

  • @najsbajsmedmajs DVD burner laser diodes can be capable of up to 300mW, look up the spec sheets on laser diodes used in DVD burners. This is not fake.

  • @styropyro I wanna build this, but where can i get laser goggles?

  • @youmadbro96 link in description

  • @najsbajsmedmajs your engineering friend is a dumbass, you couldn't write with that low of wattage.

  • @DjJesusFChrist are you really supposed to "write" on it? i thought it was only ment to read it. and btw, he says that dvd burners focuses their beams to 400nm in diameter or something. he now oddly says that this is possible, but at the same time not... confusing actually.

  • @najsbajsmedmajs A laser at 400nm would appear blue / violet. Indeed, Blu-ray discs are written with a 405nm laser, hence the name.

DVDs are written with a 650nm laser, so they appear to be red.

CDs are written with a 780nm laser which normally invisible (but only just - it's in the "near infrared")

Reading and writing in any drive is just determined by how much power is sent to the laser diode. Non-burner drives limit the power the diode can receive, so they can never burn

  • @najsbajsmedmajs Congratulations, your friend has no idea of what he's talking about.

  • @najsbajsmedmajs your friend is a fake engineer.

  • @mexoplex He is just very hard to understand. One minute he says that this is fake, hte other minute he says that it's not worth buying a one watt diode for 50$ for you can get a dvd with 300mw for just 20$. then he says irrelevant things like that they focus the laser beam to a 400nm thickness or something (it's hard to understand him).

  • @najsbajsmedmajs Can you ask your friend what model of DVD **burner** uses 1mW lasers? I've not seen one yet, and I've fiddled with electronics for a few years.

  • @najsbajsmedmajs everyone knows dvd burner can emit powerful burning lasers...is he really an engineer?

  • @najsbajsmedmajs 1mW wouldn't be the slightest bit close to the maximum capacity of power a DVD burner laser optic. It even says how much it takes up on the part specifications. Perhaps he should do some research so he would have a supported statement.

  • @najsbajsmedmajs You friend probably was thinking of a DVD reader laser not writeable laser. The output is very different

  • @najsbajsmedmajs check this, I know plenty of engineers that can't figure out that a laser printer is out of paper when it has an error nor how to load it. also I know an electrical engineer that thinks microwaves operate from "micro waves" rather than radio waves. don't always believe what someone says whom claims to be an engineer. this guy's videos are very believable and I have no doubt. everyone knows you can burn things with the laser inside a dvd writer.

  • @FlatAbove732 nuff said!

  • @najsbajsmedmajs he sucked at schools and still sucks at engineering

  • @djay2rapstar he's just hard to understand.

  • XD chainsaw!

  • hey STYRO.i used exactly the same components as in the video in the same order, yet very weak the diode lights .... why?

  • @MrParaglider79 i think it's rare or something, that the diodes are that powerful, idk.

  • im tryin it the next days

  • Does it need to be a DvD burner?, can it be one of the old CD rom drives?

  • @m8rox those will not work i have built these before hand and tried with the CD Rom

  • @timw421 ive heard it has to be a dvd burner, not a cd burner.

  • 3:29 that must hurt :P

  • lol, is this video age restricted so that young kids wont have alien technology? :P

  • DAMN IT THE FUCKING HEAT SINK WAS TOO HARD TO PULL OFF lol jk

  • hahaha casual chainsaw just hanging out

  • this gives me a great prank idea iif you have a black friend and you are white you can make a challenge and its called "who can have the laser pointed on the back of his hand without pulling it away >:)"

  • Thats insane

  • 3:37 watch out with that, if you breath it you can get cancer

  • @stijnimanbik if you drink Coca Cola too ;)

  • @neorobot ,realy?

  • Cant u just name it "DIY: Hack a Laser into a Burning Laser! ??!

  • FFS, NAME YOUR VIDS RIGHT!!

I lost 5 mins of my free time, only to learn, that i will need not only disposal pc, but some other hard-to-find stuff! WTF, are you a retard? Only the laser diode is from a pc. Other 2/3 of the important stuff U CANT FIND IN A PC!!! If i have to go buying stuff, i will buy the god damned burning laser!! Better make vids on ways of how to find shits like "aixizxzzxzfffghgfdff module", especially in countries like bulgaria... Freaking loss of time.....

  • @a51mj12 What the fuck are you talking about, ALL OF THAT STUFF WAS FROM A PC. Sorry that you're a Bulgarian idiot.

  • @VoidmasterNX rright...

  • @a51mj12 go to radio shack its not that hard to find that stuff.

  • @96skaterboybrandon where can i find radioshack in poland?

  • @a51mj12

    Your fault. :D

  • :O

    Nice !

  • how come when i plug my laser to the red and yellow cables, it turns on for a second then it turns off? can you please tell me whats the reason for this.

  • wow

    lol

  • i burned the house front of me :(

  • doesn't that hurt? burning your hand? 3:28

  • i have a old computer but i miss it so i won't brake it it was fast and it wasn't bad so if i beome an engineer i will fix it and my favorite job is engineering thumbs up if you think its better to fix it

  • 1:42 HIDDEN FACE

  • i would have time for this but yesterday..... i took an arrow to the knee

  • 1:44 That is what i looked liked when he started talkin nerd.O.O

  • yeah, here's the Chainsaw. and. we don't need it.:D

  • why the fuck is this age restricted?

  • can i cut my sandwich for breakfast with this thing?

  • ok i got the PSU out but the on button was separate and i forget what goes to what! WHAT DO I DO?

  • @robloxroxx You throw it off a bridge and get on with your life

  • Black is negative, red is positive yellow wire is neutral

  • why didn't it burn his hand after he lit the matches? go to 3:26 to see what i'm talking about.

  • Can you please explain to me what you put the diode in and where you got it?

  • This is just like my l

  • i would do this but that would be work...

  • LMAO when you took out that heatsink the CPU diode was attached to it!!!!

  • @ion5061 ...diode?

  • What kind of computer did you use to get all of those components?

  • He call me idiot?

  • as for the goggles would a pare of cutting goggles used for cutting metal be sufficient?

  • does this thing burns your hands ??

  • Why don't you talk, did you burn your mouth off? Sucker!

  • I thought you were gonna use that saw to take the heat sink out.

  • he says im idiot

  • AHAHAHAH chainsaw: this pops out with little effort

  • ha i will give u 100 bucks to make me one not for bad use tho mabey play with my dog cat plz respond

    \

  • Omfg, please please i want to buy one of these(with goggles included please)

  • this is bullshit! i just wasted like 2 hours taking out the diode and fixing up the power supply, removing the heatsinks, stripping and connecting 4 of the wires.. and now im stuck, i have no idea in hell what a lm317 server is, nor do i have a aixiz module. u said i could use old computer parts but u lied!!!!!!! tell me what to do!!! god lol!!!!

  • what kind of wattage is the laser?

  • DUDE it looked like you touched it....it stoped when u put your hand down at 3:29

  • am i the only one that notices between 2:07 and 2:08 he changed heatsinks?

  • @BocajBinLadin diffrent shot angle

  • @BocajBinLadin he used glue and just didnt show himself glueing it

  • does it burn your skin??

  • @msbobroach Heck ya it burns your skin it burns plastic bricks tape and more dude heck ya it does

  • @msbobroach Heck ya it burns your skin it can burn almost anything!

  • at 2:32 it says to put the green and black wires together. i have like 20 black wires. does it matter which one goes to the green?

  • ... what can I do with that PD pin of the laser diode...?

  • goodbye flamethorer

  • You are the most legally responsible super-villian ever. Indeed wonderful.

  • can you light a joint with that?

  • @ozzycross proberly

  • 3:28 lets see if it burns hands

  • @kitler01 or burns penises

  • @kitler01 or pienises

  • Can i use any kind of laser module? Please reply

  • @NVorigami u can get the same module, from anywhere.. aixiz, lazerer, modwerx etc.

  • haha im like " we need to use a chainsaw?" and you just pop it out lol

  • well i have a keyboard that is broken

  • @sgaevan1567 shove it :p

  • i works well, but the burner unit goes down soon can u tell the reason pls?

  • how many watts is the 3 ohm resistor?

  • @ediblegreens1 2W , you can use 1W or higher, 0.5W will also work but just to be on the safe size, you dont get a burnt resistor while burning stuf

  • @djay2rapstar thank you man!

  • Comment removed

  • @ediblegreens1 Anytime!

  • LOL! i'm going to make this laser but with my windows 7 computer lol!

  • 0:48 - Was expecting you to use the chainsaw! lol

  • @MConeyworth i think the same xD

  • @MConeyworth me too lol

  • 3:29, you put your hand in front of the beam, come back when you make one that burns a hole in your hand!

  • why would i need heat sinks cuz i dont understand fully what they do...

  • Hey, what make the axiz module so special? Why do I need that exact housing? Would another solid brass housing work just as good? I just can't find out why that one is the only thing the laser world uses.

  • YES! no where is james bond!

  • dude you are a mad genuis !!!!

  • @iMaLaserLover I guess i'm easily amused as well

  • and will the lens from the sled work? (in replace for the module) , and one more thing, which black wire should i tie with the green one?

  • @qawsedrftg7625 No. it won't work, it makes the beam very very large, and any of the black wires will work. i've tried every one.

  • will it work without the module?

  • Could I use this 405nm 300mw blu ray diode instead of taking one from the dvd drive????? Please answer. thanks!

  • @JOR1234567899 yes, but you need diffrent driver. Search for "405nm laser driver" at eBay.

ps. remember to check the mA's

  • @justiceanne can we make one of theese :405nm laser driver"s ourselves?

  • @qawsedrftg7625 yyeees, you could, check styropyro's "$3 cheapy driver" or something like that.

But i recommend just buying one, its about 10 bucks

  • Great video, well put. However can you please elaborate more on the PSU wiring and the Driver, and what wire are you connecting to the diode in the module ?

    Thanks

  • which black wire? there are like 20 of them

  • Hello Friend. I noticed in this video you used a 3 ohm resistor while in the other video you used a 10 ohm resistor. Could you explain this a little more? That would be a great help.

    Thanks.

  • @InsertRandomNumHere You want to a have a very static curren from the batteries, and the LM 317 allows you to do this easily. Since the reference voltage on these is always the same (1.25 volts), It makes it simple mathematically. using the equation Impedance = Voltage / Resistance you will find that using a 3 ohm will give ~420mA of current. He used a 10 ohm in the other video, so that he could regulate out 125mA of current, which is about the max that you should use on those other diodes.

  • @InsertRandomNumHere When attaching a 3ohm resistor, you get less resistance and more current passes through the lm317 and higher the resistance , lower will be the current..

For lm317 1.25 is the contant,

So you just calculate how many resistance you need to get your desired Current (mA's)

Resistor Value = 1.25/ (required current in Amps)

  • heyy, Really Nice Video my frend,,

i dont understand the colored wire part.

can you explain me that a little easier,

srry for bed English, im dutch, 13 years old;)

  • Do you sell them

  • we have kinda the same PSU only mine doesnt have the on off switch just the test switch. any ideas?
