  • our dear leader is good for only representing oil corp. And the military industry,he is an amateur who is taking Canada from prosperity and surplus right into a hole

  • more affordable electric cars, problem solved.

  • Problem with Stephen Harper is that his policies are all about oil...and basically about Alberta...while the rest of Canada's...and the world's citizens...are ignored. It's all a game...as it always is with politicians. it's not about truth...it's about propaganda to satisfy his supporters....and about money. We may not live to see the results of this short term thinking...but our children will be cursing us for what we have done...

  • @paulfornasier I am sorry but the fact is that people in Ontario who voted in mass for the guy disagree with you. Did the Liberals care about anyone outside of Ontario and Quebec. I grew up in Atlantic Canada and remember the punishment handed out by the liberals in the 1990s. Only a fool would suggest our kids will be cursing us for not following the EU into the disaster that the social democratic state has become. Oh and they are building billions worth of ships in NS so....

  • @Eastsideweezy Your rationale is extremely shallow. The Cons have rarely had Ontario support...and they are tied to it now...and quite vulnerable as a result. They have alienated Quebec completely....and that is not short-lived. Do know what a balanced budget is? When was the last time we had a budget that brough in more revenue than we spent?? The Cons destroyed the surplus within about 3 years....and it was predictable as hell...and look where we've ended up now...

  • @paulfornasier Ha lets go through this one by one. Paul Martin had a surplus by taking funds from CPP and EI and downloading services onto the provinces. Oh and by devaluing our $. Sorry that Harper ended the gov stealing from us in those ways.. The NDP and the Liberals demanded a large keynesian stimulus package in 2008-2009 and now you try and complain about the lack of a balanced budget when Harper went along. I am sure they would havee been austerity hawks.

  • @Eastsideweezy Ok...regarding the stimulus package. Let's see...how was PM at the time....and took full responsibility for the stimulus???? Do I need to send you a video of Harper stating that he was fully responsible for initiating the stimulus?? Does the word "prorogation" remind you at all??? Do you remember what he said in DAVOS at that meeting back then, and what he agreed to with world leaders. The bigger question is...how much did he actually spend??? and on what???

  • @paulfornasier -6- I don't support the package and I don't support Harper putting it in place. I don't see what you running you business as a corporation has to do with insights into global economics but fine lets run with it. I suspect you would have preferred spending programs on top of that.

Companies are not spending money because unlike most liberals they look at a world of uncertainty. When the leader of your largest trading partner is breaking contract laws it has that effect. cont..

  • @Eastsideweezy If you have the intelligence to investigate what created the huge deficit back then...over $50 billion....you would see that the majority of it was created by his tax cuts....which have not created any significant returns....except more donation to the Cons Party. Corp revenue is down by 20%...while corporate profits are up over 50%. Doesn't look like much is being invested in creating new jobs... I run my business as a corp...so I see what has happened...

  • @paulfornasier -7- Sorry to tell you but many business were not viable and need die. They also have learned to do more with less which is a good thing. As for expansion businesses are holding onto that money because if you have not noticed the EU is imploding. They also know that Canadians hold a huge amount of public debt. When the next downturn comes Canadian companies will be better suited to retain their current workforce. Corporate profit figures are skewed by banks flush with capital..cont

  • @paulfornasier -8- banks are flush with capital and reporting earnings pumped up by more unsustainable assets (ring a bell?). Also companies are adding workers in Alberta and Sask. Yes they are oil jobs because that is what global markets want from Canada. You can dump all kinds of money into keeping Ont with out letting the market address the structural issues they will be back looking for more money to avoid the changes needed to be competitive.

  • @Eastsideweezy Ya...I can see the austerity happening eh.... Ya....cut taxes to corps to create a constant deficit...and then cut programs that benefit the middle class and working class...so you can keep feeding the rich and the large corps. Typical GOP strategy...coming now to Canada. It's a huge fucking farce....LOL...and you are idiot enough to be blinded it...LOL Have fun....keep believing the bullshit...

  • @paulfornasier I don't think tax cuts will bring a nation out of a recession if the structural problems are kept from being sorted out. The facts remain though that cutting taxes does not create deficits. In the 1980s (Reagan) the amount collected went up as well as the proportion of taxes paid by the top 5%. However spending went up faster, same under Bush and same under Mr. Obama. Harper and Martin both should get credit for cutting some spending. I am done with you learn to be civil.

  • @Eastsideweezy Cutting taxes DOES produce deficit, if the economic activity generated by the tax cuts does not cover the shortfall in revenue. Harper came in with a $13 billion surplus, believe...and by the time the crash happened, it was getting to break even already. What caused this?? From what I've seen, it was mostly due to tax cut giveaways that were not paying back in results....and yet,.they kept cutting. Have you paid attention to the latest Warren Buffet interviews?

  • @paulfornasier I have not watched the Buffet interviews no. I will say that he owes the IRS a large amount of money and would have gone bankrupt had the bailouts not happened. What did Buffet say?

Also a tax increase in the UK of 50% on the wealthy has dropped that revenue by about 500 million it is thought. Looks like they miss that sweet spot on the laffer curve.

  • @Eastsideweezy Most of what you said about Buffett is total bullshit. Yes, he is in the midst of a disagreement regarding taxes with the IRS....but the bankrupt part is absolute and total nonsense. Do you really know much about him and Berkshire Hathaway, or are you just repeating FOX News bullshit? And...sorry...I"m not giving you a brief about interviews with Buffett. Listen to / watch them....The latest one I watched was on Bloomberg a few weeks ago..

  • @Eastsideweezy I notice how you get kind of quiet in regards to principals like fiscal responsibility...where Cons suck incredibly. The typical Cons practice is to suck the finances dry with tax giveaways when they get into power...and then proceed to rip apart core services to lower and working class citizens, under the pretense of budget shortfalls. To actually believe that the practices of Bush and Harper were done for the good of the society as a whole is beyond ignorance.

  • @paulfornasier If I recall Martin did cut programs and gave special tax cuts to corporations. You seem pissed, have a diet coke and lay down.

  • @EasyEs YOU didn't read my posts well. He balanced the budget...and THEN lowered corp taxes. Yes,,,,,he did cut programs...but he didn't lower taxes before balancing the budget. This is the significant difference between Bush and Harper...vs..Paul Martin. It is the difference between fiscal responsibility and fiscal irresponsibility.

  • @Eastsideweezy And truth be told, the Cons got 44.4 % of the vote in Ontario, while the NDP and Libs each had 25%. That can easily turn around, as the Cons are tied to that province....and Ontario is doing terrible under the Federal Cons leadership...Problem is they really don't give a shit about anything outside Alberta. Of course, BC and NS got the ship contracts...LOL. Where else could they build ships?? Ya..they could give them to foreign corps...as they have done before..

  • @paulfornasier Ontario is doing terrible because it was on life support for its inefficent manufacting and financial sector via a low $, cheap credit and protectionist rules imposed on other provinces . Now the easy low lying fruit of the USA is almost all picked and the best idea the leader of Ontario has is teaching kids fisting and building money loosing power rate raising windmills. Good luck with that. Also you can build ships in Montreal

  • @Eastsideweezy And yes...at least the Liberals balanced the budget for over a decade and paid down about 25% of our national debt. THAT is caring about the whole country....regardless of class or wealth.... And the Liberals did care more about Atlantic Canada than they did BC....as they had lots of support there.. Why did Danny Williams fight Harper to the death to try to get the same rights for Newfoundland,. as Harper was giving to Alberta. Who was renigging on their word???

  • @paulfornasier You are full of BS here. Again balanced a budget during a credit boom by taking from EI CPP and transfering cost to provinces, wow between that in a devalued $ which is in effect a cost of living tax on the middle class to the asset rich must take real skill.

Danny Williams fought Harper because they wanted a better deal. Offshore is differnt from Onshore via royalties.

As a Atlantican Canadian I can tell you that the Liberals were not friends in the 90s

  • @Eastsideweezy The EI line is pure bullshit. EI has always been part of general revenue. The EI fund crap has always been a Conservative attack line and nothing more. AND...they did not take money from CPP. That line is your own pure bullshit, as CPP runs in isolation to the rest of revenue. Tell me why the Cons recently raised EI premiums again....LOL....and they never lowered them since the days of Paul Martin....

  • @paulfornasier Lets start with the EI and CPP issue. No sorry you are wrong. To start social insurance programs are allowed to borrow from each other with certain conditions when they run a surplus. Their long term health is calculated with this in mind. However the Libs wanted to take from EI and claim that EI surpluses long term were part of calculating CPP health. I happen to think the SCC was siding with Unions. My major issue is that the Liberals should have been more upfront. Movnig on

  • @Eastsideweezy The dollar sank because, for one thing, the cost of oil sank to almost $10 per barrel around 2000, while the American economy did it's false boom under Bush... This is the main reason we suffered. We lost alot of manufacturing during that time in Ontario also...and that part has not recovered at all. The only reason we have a high dollar now is because of the surge of oil prices....moreso than the faltering American economy...

  • @paulfornasier -2- Canada was not producing near enough oil to GDP at the time to have the major swings in currency value pegged to the price of oil. It didn't help but it wasn't near the reason. Yes Canada is resource backed currency. Ontario suffers because it has a government dependent business class and toxic business culture. Case in point, Holland spills more beer then Canada exports despite the competitive advantages of Canada. Same with technology etc

  • @Eastsideweezy Danny Williams was fighting for royalites AND.....fallow field legislation.... Did you forget the second part??? The fact that Alberta has fallow field legislation...and Harper would not allow NFLD to have the same... Is it just coincidence or lack of knowledge that you left out that crucial part of the conflict???

  • @paulfornasier -3- I have no issue with the fight between Danny and Harper, I like them both and they were looking out for their interest. NFLD does have the same rights as Alberta for their onshore oil in western NFLD. Offshore oil is a different story and for very practical reasons such as there are no land owners or ranchers sitting on the land, and NFLD was shortsighted sold their soul for transfer payments. They then started to get tough with Chevron with fallow field..cont..

  • @paulfornasier -4- You see you don't just drill one hole in the ground and get the oil out. It takes a long time and requires a great deal of investment and work by oil companies to maximize recovery. NFLD wanted to fallow field on top of the ability to put some development activity separate from that agreement giving them a hidden veto power over projects while still getting cash. Sorry but no oil company is going to go for that due to the boom and bust reality of oil prices.

  • @Eastsideweezy You are siding with the most untransparent and slimiest politicians we have had in Canada.....since Mulroney...LOL Are you paying attention to the crap that is being said in the house these days??? If we side for freedom and privacy, then we are siding with child pornographers??? Is that slime tactic, or what??? The Ontario Privacy Commisioner clearly stated that internet surveillance without a warrant was clearly NOT needed.

  • @paulfornasier Yes i am more of a Ron Paul type and don't agree agree with the internet surveillance.

I can tell you this, you can not throw a rock in NB, NS, NFLD or PEI with out hitting a house where the family gets a large part of their income from oil and gas in AB BC and SASK. If the NDP or Liberals mess with that industry in the ways they want to and these people are back on EI, Atlantic Canda will be all blue. I used to vote Liberal, but for now Harper

  • @Eastsideweezy Hey, if anyone was fucking over NFLD oil, it was Harper. Did you actually pay attention to the huge and neverending conflict between Harper and Williams...or are you ignoring it???

  • @Eastsideweezy Paul Martin balanced the budget....and then cut corporate taxes. Why did Bush...and Harper do the opposite???? There's always an excuse...isn't there?? Do you know the cost of the corporate tax cuts since Harper became PM??? Over $20 billion per annum.....and this does not include the increase in fund to corps from all the provinces that have taken on the HST also. This has lowered revenue significantly....and created more deficit...LOL. Logic isn't that hard.

  • @paulfornasier -5- Now onto economics. Tax cuts and returned revenues don't follow in lock step, never have. However I would like to know how you can claim the cut in corporate tax cuts was the cause of this rather then a symptom of other things such as oil going from 140$ to around 50$. I suspect I know the study you got the figure from and they measure tax receipts from a high part of the boom vs averaging out the decline. You don't prove any causation I am sorry.

  • Funny how there was global warming well before man ever came on the scene yet now we have to cut emmissions and put an end to trillion dollar projects to save the world? LOL, tey've proven that Greenland used to be a tropical paradise, millions of years before man came along. And hell, didn't scientists like David Suzuki predict an impending ice age in the 70s? What a brilliant quack

  • @johnnycmajor I AGREE

  • Calderon sounded really funny with his rough English.

  • Whoever posted this video has a different definition of "humiliated" than most other people do. Spain disagrees with Canada. Big deal. Canada needs to stay the course with their sensible policies which will safeguard our economy while making modest gains on climate change and environmental protection. We can save the planet when other much worse nations finally commit to staying the course too. Until then, PM Harper is right not to take drastic measures we can't afford.

  • also iggy is such a moron he spoon fed us another 4 years hahaha loser ignatieuf

  • I AM IMPRESSED THAT HE WAS BOLD ENOUGH TO SAY WHAT HE BELIEVES NOT WHAT EVERY ONE WANTED HIM TO SAY. Im proud of Stephen Harper.

  • HUMILIATED>!>!?!?!?!?! HOW??? He's actually telling the truth here. the rest of the morons are now bank rupt as a result. And what the hell is that retard from cnn doing up there? i thought it was for respectable world leaders? not bankster owned media hosts. ALSO... Look at Spain TODAY: BROKE AS SHIT... Hows Canada doing? VERY WELL THANKS TO STEPHEN's steadfastness on reality and not looking for more votes like the retarded broke liability greedy lazy tree hugging poverty creating spanish.

  • @droppertrental great comment, agree with you 100 percent.

  • I am NOT a conservative. I could never vote for Harper but on this topic i believe he is right. Why does my party in opposition have to fight for the opposite on every issue. Common guys, this time hes right. Give credit where credit is due. And stop giving me reasons not to vote for you also!

  • humuliated? not quite.

I'm surprised that Harper still has the guts to give such an un-pc cold hard truth. I thought he lost his libertarian edge since becoming PM. The fact is the only way to adapt to climate change is through economic growth, which leads to enough funds to fund research to adapt. Not this taxing scheme (ie. Carbon Tax, Cap-N-Trade) that will affect the poor, leading them to energy poverty.

Simply put, well done Mr. PM. Give those Eurocrats the finger.

  • Carbon Tax credits are a total globalist scam and the completely wrong way to reduce carbon emissions. If Canada wants to reduce emissions we should tax the emitters at the source and put that money directly into programs to help reduce those industries curb their emissions.

P.S. Harper is a Neo Con globalist who wants nothing more then to help international companies rape Canadian resources at the expense of Canadians. This man needs to be stopped before he destroys our sovereignty!!!

  • Too bad Harper fails to comprehend that there's a difference between "Can't" and "won't".

  • Harper can suck bushes dick... Oh ya hes been doing that for quite some time now EH

  • @streethustla34 ummmmm bush isnt president anymore lol your bum buddy obama is

  • @droppertrental ya...sounds like you know alot about bum buddies... Bush probably fucked you up the ass many times.....and you're still stupidly happy about it...

  • @streethustla34 I think Harper's missing his visits with Bush, now that he's gone.... They were really and truly bum buddies... Harper is definitely the bottom....LOL Taking it up the ass for the team is what he says....

  • At least Harper has the courage to try to undo the mess the Liberal left the country in regarding Kyoto. I admire his honestly - a rare commodity in a politican and completely absent in the Liberal partly.

  • @waynewin Ya...but too bad Conservatives have never figured out what balanced budget means.... Fiscal irresponsibility is their prime asset.... it's nice to fuck over your kids by creating huge debt, and not giving a shit, isn't it? OH yeah...has the projection for balancing the budget been moved back another year or two now????....and fuzzy as ever in regard to whether it will ever happen or not....????

  • Give me my pot and i care not who makes the laws!

  • Dislike Stephen Harper? Listen....

    watch?v=ceh9_XV_H88

  • fuck government we dont need them. we need to change the way we think and how society works. The venus project people, jesus its not perfect. but its sooooo much better then what we have it seems perfect.

  • Yellow Journalism. "Humiliated" makes no sense. Other nations have different environmental policies than Canada. When The Liberals signed Kyoto, we did not achieve its targets. I suppose those who disagree are discovering the triumph of hope over experience. As for Al Gore, I suppose he has discovered the triumph of profit over principle. Remember when he supported Kyoto as VP? Whoops. He did not. Thanks, Al !

  • @ocdave99 There are quite a few problems with this clip, but CTV did not use the word "Humiliated", as such criticizing them for what this youtuber has added into the title makes no sense. This of course assumes you do not consider jimranch85 a journalist.

  • @lundymaphone Agreed. I gave him too much credit. The disadvantage of you tube is that it allows ignorant people to become even more so by believing info as it's framed here. The mainstream media does a better job (The Toronto Star notwithstanding).

  • China and India bailed out of Kyoto after Canada. Why should they commit if we won't?

We have the resources and the innovation and the science, not China. Let's take all the privileges, including the privilege of incorporation, away from companies that flee to lower wages and no environmental restrictions.

Since we control the resources, if we have a backbone we can reduce emissions without the help of China or India.

Shame on you for shirking your duty to the earth and blaming China.

  • Why don't any of you green idiots explain how the Kyoto treaty would actually reduce emissions?

Giving the higher polluting factories in China an even bigger competitive advantage will simply result in more production moving to the dirtier factories there.

So more pollution and C02 emissions, not less.

  • i cant wait until he's not PM anymore, im fucking 16

  • @PyroboyAce297 well then get out of this discussion. We don't want to hear your parents opinion little boy.

  • @Brd1515 so you're saying that every opinion i have is carbon copy of my parents. this is only parlty true, and im being generous. everyone is influenced by their parents, we have no choice. when you're a kid you learn things from your parents and their values rub off on you. i could probably guess by your interests that your parents were white trash that taught you to like hockey, guns and the harper gov. Also, next time you try to call me little boy, try to be at least 5 years older than me

  • These Libtards in the Media dont know squat. Nice 20% unemployment PM of Spain, Canada is weathering the economic storm the best out of all G8 nations.

And nice chirps Iggy, looks like you gave Harper his Majority after all

4 MORE years of HARPER MAJORITY

and those libtards in Europe can go collapse!!!

    CHEA

  • @Jamespot24 When you make up words like "libtards", nobody will ever take you seriously, because you clearly do not have the maturity to handle the real issues.

  • @sweiland75 What about when I lay out facts

Harper Majority 4 more years :)

    HARPER MAJORITY 4 MORE YEARS!!!

    HARPER MAJORITY 4 MORE YEARS!!!

    HARPER MAJORITY 4 MORE YEARS!!!

    HARPER MAJORITY 4 MORE YEARS!!!

    HARPER MAJORITY 4 MORE YEARS!!!

    Nice facts eh buddy boy!

  • @Jamespot24 Brilliant retort...

  • @Jamespot24 lol dont pretent to be human. you slave.

  • @sweiland75 the orange wave will catch on...don't worry. it's come so far already

  • Steven cock in mouth Harper

  • Mexico can do more than Canada to limit GHG. Riiiiighht, get off your ass Harper....

  • Canada needs a Ron Paul

  • Canada now 5th and going down fast. We are now known as the biggest producer of CLOWNS in the world. It was the 5th fossil award in a row.Stephen Harper AGAIN December 9, 2011 – UN climate change conferences. Canadians in Durban, South Africa to accept the award, Canada's actions have become so egregious that they have been left behind, on the sidelines of global climate progress.

e•gre•gious 1. extraordinary in some BAD WAY; glaring; flagrant: an egregious mistake; an egregious liar.

  • @tomuchbabble I watched a 2006 cspan video of congressional hearings about the Prof. Dr. Michael Mann hockey stick graph errors. 6 panelists agreed that there was global warming. The National Academy of Science guy told the assembled people that man made CO2 accounted for 6% of yearly emissions & nature the other 94%. The key was that man had done deforestation of the rainforests & disrupted the natural CO2 production/consumption balance.

  • @tomuchbabble Google video search ("confessions of an economic hitman" John Perkins)

What most environmentalists do not realize is that the UN leaders of the Earth Summits, Rothschild & Rockefeller, international bankers, are the cause of all the troubles we now face & they pretty much knew it for decades. The world bank & IMF put into place programs that cut down the Amazon to make way for agriculture to repay huge loans given those countries--same thing in African countries.

  • @tomuchbabble We now know that these economic development programs were created by fools who are unworthy of running the world because they were very mistaken about the science of the entire thing. The soil proved unsuitable to grow crops or support cattle. The oxygen / CO2 life cycle was thrown out of balance. Banksters knew this from "The Report From Iron Mountain" published in the 1960s around the same time "they" came up with the idea of "The Club of Rome" & UN Agenda 21.

  • @tomuchbabble Rather than increasing the oxygen supply & decreasing CO2 by planting rainforest trees, the globalist banksters want to fund the creation of many thousands of Nuclear power plants to generate both "clean energy" & radioactive waste. All such plants are centrally controlled, could be bombed by warfare or terrorism to cause disasters, & nuke weapons can be developed. The costs for electricity will rise on a monthly basis by metering it like JP. Morgan tycoons always do.

  • @tomuchbabble According to graphs that I have seen, Canada's CO2 output would be hugely smaller if the oil sands projects were not spending so much energy on separating the sands from the oil by using any kind of boiling water heating process where they burn nearly half the oil getting the oil separated out. When too many corporations are interested in oil extraction, pipeline delivery & short term job creation, the politics is quickly shifted to support all of this skullduggery.

  • 0:47

    "real suffering, real people dying"

Ummm, yeah like Jack Layton being murdered

  • Hey Scott good job on reporting this. Peace

    Big T

  • Those that complain about Harper giving freedom to law abiding gun owners by scrapping the Gun Registry, remember that it is Liberal policies that keep aboriginal & black inner city communities dependant on welfare and a life of crime. This is where the gun violence occurs and where responsibility lays, at the feet of Liberal ghettoization of these people.

  • @Knight99less Gun registry was a giant money pit, mismanaged from the git-go.

Some large computer consulting company was probably milking the project at high hourly rates to develop it. Who knows if it was corrupt?

Often computer consultants doing the work are young grads fresh off the street who are paid "nothing," but are billed out by their companies at high rates. Some of these poor grad idiots are worked round the clock, & stressed for no reason--all mismanaged & milked.

  • For the illogical comments about child rapists getting less jail time than drug offenses, understand that that is "liberal" policies that keep violent criminals out of jail. The Harper government and conservatives across Canada have been screaming for harsher penalties for these people for decades against Liberal & NDP protest.

  • @Knight99less

Crime has actually gone down in the past 10 years or so.

  • @thisisachair Sorry, missed the relavence of this statement.

  • @thisisachair The corporate media is no place to get all your information.

Who knows if crime less or more? Every time that poverty increases, some poor resort to crime to survive. This may especially be true if young people start believing that their future prospects are not as bright as first thought & turn to "other means" to gain financial independence. Lots of elementary school students believe that everyone in their class will earn more wealth than Bill Gates--if so inclined.

  • Comment removed

  • Now it is late 2011 - Whose country is prospering and whose counties are failing? China, India and Brazil still pollute without any restrictions, the Euro itself is on the brink of collapse, and Harpers Canada is the strongest and healthiest economy in the G20. Enough said.

  • @Knight99less

We have been blessed to have regulations in place since after the depression in order to prevent toxic bets being made that would have been bailed out by taxpayer money. The glass stegal (sp?) in the US was overturned in 1999, which is one of the reasons they were hit really hard in 2008. You can't really credit a current administration on accomplishments that were made in the past.

  • @thisisachair It’s funny you mentioned the Glass-Steagal Act, wasn’t Bill Clinton in office at that time? As far as previous credits and accomplishments it seems that Obamba is still crediting Bush for all his problems. Just some confusion with your statement on my part via the conduct of some admitted pot smoking Liberal Democrat heroes.

  • @Knight99less and it is all thanks to paul martins decisions as the liberal finance minister ..harpo teh clown and his merry band of lemmings have delivered nothing to Canada

  • Harper is now pushing a bill that will give pot-growers more jail time than child rapists. Harper is a whore for the corporations and a national embarrassment to all us real Canadians. The Conservative party needs to be put out of power.

  • @meanbrew just to be add info - if you claim guilty for a drug possesion for possesion (14g+) it's 10 years in jail, and is considered as a major offence. On the other hand, you cane rape young childrens and be guilty, you will get 3 years lol

  • @Mirewood

Like I said before, I'm sure that such an arrangement would just result in constant bickering back and forth with nothing getting done.

As far as my point about the Charter being a bigger concern, it's not even a real Constitution, as it is not the "Supreme Law". It also does not protect property rights or a right to self defense. Section 1 needs to be rewritten to make the law and government subordinate to the Charter, not vice versa. Only then should we consider other changes.

  • @Mirewood

The problem with representation by population is that a lot of times nothing gets done. Kinda like a minority government ALL THE TIME. We all saw what happened during the last 5 years... Constant debates in parliament and no bills passing and constant elections. What was it? 5 elections in the last 7 years or something?

Sounds like a nightmare... And a huge waste of taxes.

I personally don't mind first past the post, I think Constitutional reform is definitely more important right now

  • @Mirewood

That's true. It's all a bunch of bullshit in the end. Probably the closest thing to real democracy is Switzerland, where laws are put to a referendum, so that the people decide what they want, and not the politicians. I can't see that every happening here, though.

I just find all these anti-Harper people to be annoying drama queens. He's a politician, he isn't Darth Vader! He is doing what all politicians do: Trying to make the people that voted for him happy.

  • I hate harper

  • Harper is tool. A carbon dioxide producing waste of skin. A fat pink skinned power hungry tool of the status quo. The poster boy of the idiots who got us into this mess. A dull dim witted fart in an elevator and deny it, kind of guy. Gloriously leading Canada into the last century. Boldly going where the banks dictate. Imposing his brain dead ideas no matter how many Canadians he has to imprison to do it. No capitalist ass too small for him to kiss . Election reform now! Free Emery!

  • The Quebecois understand that's a asshole. When the rest of Canada will understand it? When Canada will be United States of Canada? When the criminality will be a really big problem in Canada like USA?

  • @Babinful Quebec is the only province to vote for the right party, in the last election. I am not a Quebecker, but I REALLY hope this Orange Wave sweeps across Canada, in 2015.

  • Harper has a point. First of all, there are priorities that supercedes the environmental policies. The world is under economical threat, threat of terrorism, unemployment rise, etc, and the last thing we want is the government to spend more money on the environment. Secondly, people often talk about "saving the environment", sounds great really but, the question is how. Shut factories down? prevent cars on the road? its easy to state the problem, but what is the solution? That's Harpers points.

  • @Rawinho The environment is everything, by definition. What good is a job if you can't breathe? Ask a coal miner. Terrorism is the result of Imperialism, which is just a means to steal. Ex President Clinton has pointed out that wind power is more economical now than any other source of energy, when all the factors are equated. Shut down factories? What factories, they have all gone to third world locales, where they can poison freely. LRT, public transport, bike trails, rooftop gardens,R2 houses

  • @Rawinho There are so many ideas being put forth. If we could run things on electricity, such as trains, for a different method of universal transportation that would help immensely. I suggest you watch a documentary called "Fuel". It gives lots of suggestions that apparently Harper doesn't deem necessary.

  • @Rawinho Investing in wind power other than oil is another great way.

  • Stephen Harper humiliated in Davos? when? this was the same thing he said to the UN, politics's is sooooooo outdated

  • Did you see how the other leader was looking at him? He was probably thinking who died and left this dildo in charge in Canada! I have yet never seen a western leader as stupid and idiotic as Harper, this fuck head just does not make any sense every time he opens his mouth! He is the clown of all political clowns out there. The bullshit this guy puts out is amazing, fucker does not even make sense in front of other politicians. The clown who is destroying Canada that was once a great country!

  • I live up north and work in the Canadian oilpatch. Do any of you have any idea how much energy it takes to heat just one house in Canada's north for just one day at -40C? I'll bet the South African and Spanish Presidents don't either. Were going to be burning Nat. Gas for a long, long time. Harper is pragmatic...and correct.

  • @wtoddkeller Harper is a total more on. Pragmatic and correct my ass.

  • @Hafez21hafez21 I'm sorry the truth hurts you so.

  • @wtoddkeller A fellow named Nikola Tesla invented AC induction motors, radio signaling, robotics, & lots more. He invented something known as wireless transmission of energy, & something known as the magnifying transmitter but tycoons like JP Morgan took away his funding when Morgan found out the output could not be metered.

    Hey look at this: /watch?v=wV560xfYSJ0

I see 3 spark gaps with 5 to 8 inch sparks & lots of electrical buzzing sounds. This is in Russia or similar such place.

  • @oldspammer I'm aware of Tesla and his works. I often wheel it out when talking to "greenies" that have no idea about what they are taking about! The future of energy consumption is in finding incremental ways to reduce consumption by increasing efficiencies, it's been this way for over 100 years! Look up Rudolph Diesel and how wrong Anheuser-Busch got it when they bought the patent for North America back in the day! Free enterprise drove the market, not Government intervention just like today!

  • @wtoddkeller There are fake & real videos about something called "free energy" to generate electrical energy. There are also people looking into HHO gas generation by means of harmonic resonance high voltage waveforms into distilled water. YT users Irondmax & others have supposedly duplicated Stanley Meyer's waveforms & high voltage / low current HHO generation methods.

Google video search ("open mind" Bedini Bearden Beck Jenkins)

They discuss zero point aether energy generation.

  • @wtoddkeller You are right that this pollution-free, fuel-free energy generation technology is not going to be in the mainstream any time soon (or ever) because various tycoons & governments run based on status quo--operation as usual due to huge vested financial interests. Patents will not be awarded to manufacture these "free energy" generation devices because old physicists in the patent office have to retire.

Google (Thomas Malone patent free energy)

    Malone was fired from USPTO.

  • @wtoddkeller Apparently, an inventor some years ago discovered that fluid in a state of suitable friction that induced cavitation produced heat at very high efficiency rates that could not be explained by conventional physics.

    /watch?v=yh_-DUKQ4Uw

The server for the links in that video's description is no longer.

The video is mislabeled because heater is "not fuelless."

    Google search (hydrodynamics cavitation heater)

  • @wtoddkeller Obviously, the cavitation heater guy did not make his units available at a cheap price, or he marketed only to large businesses who never bought his stuff.

A long time ago when their site worked, I visited the site & they had models of their machines that produced huge amounts of heat, but were run by electrical engines that were enormous. If you add together the costs, only large companies could have ever bought any of these things. They mis-marketed it very badly.

  • @oldspammer I'm aware of Tesla and his works. I often wheel it out when talking to "greenies" that have no idea about what they are taking about! • Harper is thinking realistically here. However you guys (the political left) think it is just so easy to throw around ideas to be "greener" and say they are gonna work. anyone can throw around nice numbers and live a dreamland, but to come up with an actual solution that is feasible that just something you guys CAN"T do.

  • fuck the world..

  • Harper is just a big embarrassment, I have yet never seen a western leader as stupid and idiotic as Harper, this fuck head just does not make any sense every time he opens his mouth! He is the clown of all political clowns out there. The bullshit this guy puts out is amazing, fucker does not even make sense in front of other politicians, and this clown is destroying Canada.

  • @Hafez21hafez21 Why don't you just say it? You hate white people on the political right. Your hate motivated comments are just as irrelevant as you are. I'm an 11th generation Canadian and Harper runs this country like it used to be run before the left wing haters with their Reverse McCarthyism started bleeding it dry for their own selfish socialist "the government should so something" attitude. You comments are the most single-minded, self-serving bullshit I've ever read. Go home!

  • @wtoddkeller You are just a racist individual who thinks he is not going to get touched by all this insanity & soft dictatorship and tyranny taking us towards the dominance of Zionist NWO, you think since you are a whit Anglo Saxon you will just sit back have your beer while watching hockey and the world will be to your liking and who the fuck cares if Stephen H hands over this country to Israel & make it their colony, I got news for you! It is going to affect you & your generation really bad..

  • @wtoddkeller Those Americans feeling the pain today had the same mentality as you have but they learned the hard way and it is too late for them frankly speaking, don’t just think bad think will happen to Iranians, once you have a regime that serves the interests of a foreign apartheid and fascist country BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN TO EVERYONE! IT WILL ONLY GET WORST IN THE YEARS TO COME, JUST TAKE A LOOK AND SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING NEXT DOOR!

  • It makes me embarrassed to be Canadian that Michael Ignatieff is Canadian. Even if Canada eliminated all CO2 emissions, it would have almost no effect on global levels.

Comical to see a Spaniard and an African, both of whom probably don't even have furnaces in their homes, tell a guy from the coldest country on the planet about co2 emissions. How about we just ban lefties from using any fossil fuels to heat their homes this winter?

  • @EruditeCanadian and yet Sweden which is a colder country than Canada was able to cut its emissions by 4% below 1990 levels and improved there economy by doing so. To say we cant do that is absurd.

  • @towlie7685

Sweden accounts for 0.16% of global emissions, so by reducing their emissions by 4% they lowered global emissions by .006%. Wow, what a huge achievement.

How about we just blockade any shipment of fossil fuel into big Canadian cities like the GTA, Montreal and Vancouver. Or anything that was transported by an evil diesel fueled truck. That would probably reduce our emissions a bunch. Then the lefties can put their money where their mouths are.

  • @EruditeCanadian You're stupid. Like Harper.

  • Comment removed

  • @LongBow1600

Let me guess, you're a Left wing Torontard that wants to shut down the oilsands because you don't need oil... You take the bus! LOL

Typical left wing argument... "You're stupid".. What, are you 10 years old? The best you can come up with is "You're stupid"?

The sad thing is, that is usually the best you lefties can do lol

  • @EruditeCanadian you cant look @ it like that though. That''s like saying i''m just going to leave my lights on all the time because it will have little to no effect from a world wide stand point. But the thing is we all have to do our bit because if everyone accomplished what Sweden did it would have a huge impact.

  • @towlie7685

The main thing that I think is so ridiculous about Kyoto at least is that the three biggest polluters, China, USA and India are either exempt from reduction targets or have no intention of reduction. Kyoto is a joke and unfair.

Plus, most people that are on the "green" bandwagon are hypocrites. Lefties in Toronto want to shut down the "dirty" oilsands, but still drive to work in their SUV's, burning half a tank of gas to travel 5kms in a traffic jam. It's ridiculous!

  • Harper is an idiot

  • u want to lower emissions yet your agensed hemp u are fucked in the head harper

  • If we made it the law to vote I would tell you that he wouldn't be in.

  • i truly think that the majority of canadians are morons for voting for this prick. fuck you people. fuck you all who voted conservative. you all should've voted ndp. you should've voted for jack. and now he's dead. fuck you canadian sheep. as for the rest of us canadians, keep fighting. one day we will once again become a respected country whose morals stand for peace and equality.

  • @kevinkahosgay Dont get mad at them. Get mad at the idiots that didn't vote. Because a Conservative person will aways vote no doubt. I think that it should be the law to vote. Australia dose it and they have a more Liberal government.

  • These countries that were against Harper only wish they had Canada's economy, and human rights record.

I am so ashamed of most Canadians for not recognizing how truly correct Stephen Harper was. You all need to wake up!

  • @jeffms2 I agree with you on that you haft to be real about it but if you look at it if we all started using electric cars we would need to create more energy which would give so many jobs to people. Also seeing as there cutting jobs in that kind of work right know. And you need to wake up if your going to stay with oil that will soon run out when power plants will not, also seeing as Canada has most of the worlds fresh water.

  • wow, so many jagoffs all in 1 room

  • oh and that 1.3 percent of people were scientists given access to fly up there.

  • yes the climate is changing, it alwyas has and always will, the data these so called scientists show you is all manipulated, only 1.3 percent of the worlds population has ever visited the arctic and less in the antarctic, ice caps are melting due to a shift in the saltwater and freshwater currents under the ice, salt lowers waters melting point, el ninia, and la nino also effect ice, also the data only goes back 60 years the data before that is inaccurate.

  • if green peace were elected we would loose our rights to drive our cars, loose our rights to build single family houses with our own backyards, and greeenpeace are people who need to get a job, oh and how do greenpeace and the green parties get from point A to point B? they sure don't bike 1000's of kms. this whole going green is a money amking scam that is worldwide, why the hell should i pay more for green products when i can buy regular products, its a scheme to create a world government.

  • @mesedrew oh and they would have us pay a greenhouse gas tax everytime we took a crap. before you knew it in order to use the toilet in ur own home, you would have to insert 25 cents. thats what green peace would provide they only care about the environment not any other issues, oh and harper is smart not to fall for this world created Money making, world domination, get rid of democracy scam movment that is taking place, why would i want the next gen to grow up in a communist world like that.

  • You're not talking to the uneducated voters, whose votes you steal, these are politicians who know how much of a stupid backwards lying Tory you are

  • I don't like Harper I voted Layton. But hes right in one way. It's way to late to stop climate change. You think china has emission standards? Guess who makes everything we use.

  • Why are idiots from backwards third world countries telling us how easy it is to reduce carbon emissions? They're all still riding around on camels and donkeys and have no fucking idea what they are talking about..

  • @richard833 Because of the fact that it is fckin easy to reduce carbon emmisions.... You see Germany, Denmark, Norway, and Costa Rica? Their government invest in cleaner energy while still maintaining one of the best economies in the world. Environment is a very important issue and must be addressed.. If we dont, the whole world is at steak. And I do mean the whole world. Your childrens and our childrens children. So pls watch a environmental documentary and be educated

  • @richard833 And the way you say "they ride on camels and donkeys" is highly offensive... You don't know what you are talking about. At least these third world countries are actually trying to save the environment than Canada

  • @wandererintheshadow Oh sorry, did I offend you? I'm terribly sorry.

  • harpers such a baby

  • Harper is a little bitch puppet like Oboma aka hitler being told what to do and what to say

  • Please vote NDP, a.s.a.p.!

  • Holy shame
