When one bites the other too hard, the other puppy yelps, and the puppy that bit learns not to bite that hard because it hurts others. True that because this Dane is so big, it won't yelp, but that just means the owner will have to make a loud yelping noise when the puppy bites to let the puppy know not to bite that hard. My puppy did the same exact thing to our older Dane but he doesn't bite ANYONE now.

OMG i hate it when puppies are at that biting stage and when you have an older dog it like the puppy chew toy but usually they get snapped at by the older dog and know not to play with them while there trying to sleep my friend has this 7 month old husky Shepard mix named Hoss and if a dog growls at him he thinks is time to play some more!! :)
Puppies are reckless, they're probably using the bell to keep track of what he's doing. Although I guess watching the puppy rather than listening is more wise.

@xXxchipperchopperxXx well it's great that YOUR DOG knew, but plenty of danes actually DON'T know their strength when playing with a puppy if they've never lived with another dog before. You have to be careful because one wrong move and the puppy could be seriously injured.
i didnt see anyone mention at around 1:23 the little dog first twisted its right leg on a toy, then got a bite into that same right leg from the big dog and went cowering into its corner (with a short but notable limp). Then it kept trying to hide itself under the furniture. Near the end the little dog was favoring that same rear right leg. Im sure that is healed now. I agree with boomer that the great dane needs more room to run but alpha dogs arent domesticated those rules apply in the wild.
6 Weeks is a very, very important time for puppies to learn social skills, as in how to play [not bite too hard] and respect the alpha. Do NOT scold the larger dog for putting the pup in it's place, it's the natural way of things. When you tell her be gentle You are showing her that the tiny puppy is alpha to her which will be very detrimental to her psychological health. I'm telling you, you're setting that Dane up to live a miserable life. I'm a Pre-Vet Student, I have bred dogs.

@surupystuff Great Danes are very gentle and calm dogs. They really don't like to fight unless it is necessary. The Great Dane can also sense the dog is a little puppy and had it fought back he/she could have seriously injury the new puppy.

I don't get it, he went and got the rope and said "off" and the dog got off of the mattress that he was laying on all along...What? Anyway I don't understand how some one could keep a giant Marmaduke dog like that in a small apartment anyway. He is an adorable dog, but just too big to be in the middle of the living room on his big mattress. For me anyway.

@surupystuff Great Danes are very gentle and calm dogs. They really don't like to fight unless it is necessary. The Great Dane can also sense the dog is a little puppy and had it fought back he/she could have seriously injury the new puppy.
