to loop a beat, i use computer program called pro tools, then i make a loop... but you can also use garage band which is free on macs.

and your ipod will automatically loop it for you if you put it on repeat with no pause. check the preferences

This works on the PSP (Sony Playstation Portable) also, and I use my PSP to keep my 8/16 step beats to infinitely loop (in repeat mode). This works great when 1) you make your own beats on cubase/ableton/FL studio to scratch to, or 2) you can use gold wave to cut loops, 3)play a premade loop.... just make sure you save any loop file as a wave (.wav) file so it will seamlessly loop perfectly.(Don't do mp3 unless you have a 5min loop song already). Give it a try!(I might upload a vid to show ya!)
