The thing I find funnyest about the weight loss shows is that they have to have an overwreight host. She (and its always a she) starts out thinner than the contestants but by the end she is the fatest. You would think she would take some insperation and motivation after watching them, or perhaps she has to stay fat by contract.

Weakness, is at the opposite end of the scales from Willpower. I can't see how bullying a person about a weakness will encourage them to gain willpower. It's wrong to say "You always stop at 20 seconds". He should encourage her to go for 21; and when she does it, praise her, then encourage her to go for 22, and so on. @2112murphy I'm not sure what you want from Canadian TV - all our talent heads south of the border, and nobody's gonna make a lot of cash off a population of 30 million. Still, we've had some excellent television - all of Rick Mercer's stuff is top-flight satire, Murdoch Mysteries is a uniquely Canadian program, and the CBC puts out more quality documentary programming than you can shake a stick at. If you can't find "one tolerable recent Canadian TV show", I suspect you aren't looking.
