The most annoying part isn't the video itself, but the curmudgeons whining about how cartoons that mess up the appearance (Overalls, Peach's hair), names (Bowser=Wart=King Koopa=WTF), and personalities (Koopalings) of major characters, don't fix their mistakes in later seasons, cast characters into roles that don't work (Bowser=Darth Vader, Toad leads a motorcycle gang), or just make up a ton of characters (cave people from SMW) are better than great shows like Kirby of the Stars.

What I didn't like about this series is that they used the videogame sound effects - when they were just annoying.

I mean, when you don't have any other way to play sound than MIDI or the soundchip of an eight bit machine, they're cool. But in TV, they just suck.

Actually, I personally feel the pinnacle of cartoons was in the 80s, they had decent scripts, and decent animation. Earlier than that, sure they might have been more meaningful, but the animation quality wasn't there. Currently most of the cartoons have very stupid writing, and the animation looks very cheap, but polished much better than in the 80s. You can polish a pearl and it becomes shiny, or you can polish a shitball, and it still is shit.
