I'm not sure how James reads in hebrew I know it's no the same as "James" which is not hebrew. The question is what name would have been translated as James when the New Testemenat was written. Does anybody know what the actual name on the James Tomb says I mean how it reads in the hebrew. Not the forged inscription, for there where two inscriptions; one of them was added to increace the pice (the "'James' brother of Jesus"). If you read my earlyer posts you will see my postion on this issue.

However there were other inscriptions on the tomb, that of James, or Jacob (don't remember at this time), So it would make sense that the fake name would not be the name of the real historical figure but of the popular biblicaly accepted name by someone trying to make some extra cash. The overbite is, evidently the hoaxer did not think that the authentic evidence was enough to serve his purpose, so he made some insurance. Thus the James sample examined without the forgeries, fits it's claims.

Although the names are all common; however the narrator left out the fact that the names taken in unison makes this highly probable that this is referring to the unique figure in the New Testament. For example there where a lot of individuals by the name of Yeshua in the 1'st century, but not many where named Yeshua son of Joseph, with a mother named Mary and a brother name James etc. Six different name linking the tomb to Jesus of Nszerath.

The easiest giveaway that this was false was when they translated James from Aramaic...James real name was Jacob and only became James after many translations from different languages but yet they directly translated his name to James from the oshuary...nice screw up.

That's a phony argument. Your numbers don't correlate. What are the odds of 10 different names, common or not, correlating to each other? You're also commonizing the uncommon names of Mariah and Mariamne with Mary thereby increasing the odds its not them. The odds of all the common names, plus uncommon names (including Jose) plus the genealogical relations (son of, brother of, etc.) correlating to each other is 1 in 600 of not being Jesus' family. Extremely low by any statistical standard.

Your analogy is completely false because not all the names in the Jesus family tomb were common and you're using a last name to correlate the first names. If these were just first names, how would you know if they were the Ramirez family? They could be Cortez? The only way to know is to match the genealogy, brother, sister, mother, father, etc. to match the genealogy & uncommon names of the Ramirez (not Jones) family & have it all verified by a written source matching the Ramirez family.

Lets look at what names we actually have.

Jesus son of Joseph, Maria, Yose, Judah son of Jesus, Mariamene and Matya.

And out of those only Jesus and Joseph are in the Bible. We don't know how the other names are related to each other.

If Yose (Jose or Joseph) was the son of Joseph then why not have "son of" on his ossuary also? Also they tried to claim that since Mariamene was not related to Jesus on the mothers side she must be his wife. That's assuming that she isn't related on the fathers side like an aunt or cousin or even a daughter.

Again, the idea of all these names being together in one tomb being some sort of proof is reduced because only 3 peoples relationships are known and only one of those (Jesus son of Joseph)is in the Bible. We have no clue how the others are related at all! And so, we have to go back to these names being common, as seen by the fact that there are 2 Josephs mentioned and 2 Maria/Mariam ossuaries in one tomb, and "Jesus son of Joseph" as the only real tie to the Biblical account.
