Her style here, bellinian or otherwise, is precisely what this song requires. This is a farewell song, a song of longing for the homeland. I cannot imagine a better performance, given these beautiful words:

Dolça Catalunya,

pàtria del meu cor,

quan de tu s'allunya

d'enyorança es mor.

Too bad Vives died in 1932. He would have given Caballé a standing ovation.
