This laptop sucks because of time. Today we just don't have the infrastructure to support this device. But i applaud this device for setting the foundation for the future. The inevatable future where everything lives in the cloud (facepalm). So now the laptop sucks, future the laptop will be awesome.

wow i think Google Chrome OS is very useless! i know its only for viewing but seriously every phone has a web browser haha

most people that use the web download stuff such as videos and torrent.

I just watched this on my CR-48. I just got it this week and I agree with you Lamarr it is not for everyone. I like it though. Not as much as my 15inch Macbook Pro, but I like it.

FYI 100MBs is approximately 3 hours worth of video, believe it or not. All the same, I am ecstatic with my new computer, and happy that Google chose me. Even with all the frustration, I love it. It really is exploring the unknown.

The app. market is pathetic, there are constant issues with WiFi connectivity, which is more important in this computer than in any other EVER. Certain WiFi networks are, simply, not supported at all, and, honestly, the free 100MBs per month is a dismal attempt to resolve the issues on a computer that can't do anything without the web.

Honestly, the notebook/netbook kinda sucks. It is to be expected to some extent, since the hardware is so weak and the operating system is clearly in development mode, which is why they're handing them out for free. Google went all out in some areas with their creativity and other areas that are ESSENTIAL in computers are totally absent.

This is where computing is heading - to the clouds. It's not if cloud computing is going to happen, it's when. And it already is happening. This netbook is beta, so we'll have to wait until the production units get sent out to really get an idea how this baby behaves.

I, for one, absolutely love the no-logo design, though I'm sure the production units will have some sort identification on them, but I really hope not.

google laptop will fail. it is a browser in a box, just buy a cheap netbook or laptop and do everything a normal computer can.

What are the actual hardware specs of this machine? Graphics, RAM and cpu? Would it be powerful enough for browser games?
