  • some of the airline pilot reports have turned out to be hoaxes. NOt saying all but some of them the flight crew were intentionally trying to make money form making a book about their incident and gain fame and they were all in on it. Do not think pilots have never started hoaxes.

  • This guy needs a reality check! Average new hire at Delta has approximately 7-10K hours, mostly jet is my guess and mostly FAR 121

  • hi i didnt even start flying or nothing yet but im 21 years old and wanted to be an airline pilot eversince i was 3 years old where do i start? how will i make it? i was thinking about embry riddle to start whats the first to last step? and i did terrible in school my whole life in highschool but still want to be a pilot so bad for jetblue! what do i do? first step? PLEASE HELP!

  • VERY NICE VIEDO

  • I'm going to this university

  • No.. this is not a true story... it is pure fiction..

  • What degree would be more fortunate to get.

  • if u r a pilot will u have time for ur family becuse ur always flying places. And i can get out of school to start flying at 15 that woulbe awsome

  • Great video dude. I want to be in your postion i hope to ecome an airline pilot as well i hope to make it there in the next 6 years

  • @RLM7237 You will buddy as long you stick to it.

  • @jodecci Thanks so much.. Keep living my dream and oneday i'll be seeing you in the friendly skies :) happy landings

  • this actually a really good video oilot or not. I can say this coming from a private pilot who went to Dca in Houston. You can't go straight from dca to the majors even with a 1000 of instructing time you have to go to a regional first and thats with a degree

  • NO POSSIBLE WAY!!!! My brother is a NetJets Pilot that left COMAIR - and he said if a pilot were hired to fly a 757 righ out of school - the other pilots would lynch him! The MOST important thing (all that counts) is YOUR FLIGHT HOURS - this is what determines the SINGLE FILE LINE of pilots waiting for a new airplane to fly!! There are only 3 was to get a seat on a 757 - 1) People ahead of you getting promited 2) People ahead of you leaving the airline and 3) People ahead of you dying!!!

  • @Earthlinked LOL

  • @Earthlinked I concur with you on the first and second sentence, but I must disagree with you on the "hours" part. I use to think the same back in the 1990's, but now it's all about H.R. Hundreds of pilots with 4,000+ TT, 500+ turbine, and great skill are still waiting to get hired by an airline. They are not "considered" because of political correctness. Fly around the country and talk with the pilots that are flying anything just to keep flying and see just how better qualified they are!!!

  • @jodecci hey can you explain to me what an aviation high school is?

  • @jodecci Hey whats an aviation high school?

  • @AirlinerLzp It is the local high school in Aviation, Illinois!!!!!!!

  • @Earthlinked Its in Queens, NYC

  • @AirlinerLzp In Queens NYC They teach a lot of mechanical stuff-- nothing really relevant to the pilot flying

  • Hey im looking into going to Farmingdale, im from Brooklyn, so how much am i looking to pay to go there? is it a good flight school?

  • whats the music?

  • @parkzonecorsairtips Nickelback - if everyone cared

  • is this person u made about...is this guy, u?....

  • In the US this system is not possible. There are years of working for regionals before going on to the majors. Even in Europe your best hope would be to start on a 737/320, no way straight onto a 757!

  • Bullshit. No one goes from the Delta Connection Academy to flying a 757. There are many years of regional airline (or other alternative) employment in between. Stop fucking with people - I'm sure there are many people actually seeking legitimate advice regarding a career in commercial aviation. You help no one with your false information. Anyone seeking advice should consult real pilots on airlinepilotcentral(dot)com or pprune(dot)org. "Jodecci" is clearly comatose.

  • r there any flight school is england, london. thanks

  • @kurdman12345678 there are flight school in England but many europeans going for a commercial license do there initial (first 250 hours or so) flight training in the USA because our fuel cost are so much less. They can do there training here and pay to do the conversion test for about a 3rd of what it would cost to do the training from start to finish in the UK and be licensed by both the FAA & JAA.

  • im learnig in my pa-38 "trauma-hawk" thats how we call it here lol 30 hours here!!

  • what is the name of that song

  • is the any highschool and collages that i could go to in massacusetts

  • That is SOOOO cool. I used to go to that HS out in Long Island City, NY. Great career move.

  • anyone can afford it.....

  • aviation hghschool....yea i can afford that.

  • @SpartanW98 Aviation High is free. It's a public high school that offers both a 4yr and a 5yr diploma. You graduate with either an airframe mechanic certificate or a power plant certificate and if you you do the 5th year you get whatever certificate you didn't get in the 4yr. program. An A &P is a great job in and of itself but It also gives you a big hiring advantage if you are looking to be a commercial aviator. especially at a 135 operation (charter/freight). The A & P cost big bucks normally

  • @guppy97 i dont know where to find one, i live in northern california, about 300 miles north of san fransisco.

  • The song is:

    Nickelback-If Everyone Cared

  • i think its ''if everyone cared'' from Nickelback

  • whats the song

  • How do i become and commercial pilot in the Philippines?

  • @Speedster159 Search up for a decent flight school...

  • in the Philippines, I believe they have cadet programs, possibly through PAL. Try talking to local flight schools first. Ask them what their financing options are.

  • I'm guessing this isn't a true story...there's no way to get hired by Delta on a 757 straight out of DCA....

  • @jumpseat2024 I'm with ya.... You gotta gain more experience before flying a big jet....

  • @jumpseat2024 true....

  • im 13 and i live in singapore..im dreaming of bcoming a pilot..what degree shuld i get??suggestions?

  • I'd get a degree i aviation i forget what it is called something like aviation engineering or somthen or go with an aerospace engineer degree, but i live in the u.s so i dont know the degree choices in singapore. good luck :) and cya in the skies :)

  • i have the same situation here

  • The only thing that I'm worried about is over 4 year it will be like $60,000 to get my degree in Geography and Aviation :/

  • whats the name of the song by the way great video really a good inspiration im 13 and want to become an airline pilot as well. ill never give up the dream!

  • I hope you acheive your draem!

    Good luck!

  • hopefully by the time i become a pilot

    the economy has picked up....

    go obama!!!!

  • @ronaldbuffalo2 , obama isn't this fix for the global financial crisis , anyway i hope so as well , good luck

  • im not saying that...

    and thx

    :)

  • hey im 15, i live in glasgow, uk, any tips for becoming pilot? where do i go?

  • Their are 2 routes into becoming a pilot: RAF or civil aviation.

For civil aviation you need to do A Levels and then if you want to increase your employability (recommended) you go and do a degree in whatever you enjoy (this is also good for a backup plan if your airline dream fails). Then you enrol in a flight school (ie. Oxford kidlington) and pay about £70,000 on training (it is a lot but you can get fancy loan things and pay it off when your earning).

    Hope this helped!

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! I CANT WAIT TILL I GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND FINALLY START MAKING MY WAY TOWARD THIS CAREER!!!!!!! Hopefully I'll get into NYU then a good flight school!

  • so, you go to college then to flight school? or flight school then college??? whats the best way?

  • yeah its best of you first get a degree

  • I'm 17 years old, and getting my PPL in december. I hope to finish my SAT's and go to university to study a Bachelor or Aviation... One day I hope to live the dream

  • Nice video, and good job....

  • Where.....Europe?

  • I shall admit. I am crying now because I have a very mild minor case of genetically inherited epilepsy problem. My only dream was to fly and I know that I will never pass the EEG scan test. =(

It's like somebody just pulled out my heart.

  • THATS JUST BULL S*IT

if u have a dream... never ever give up....

    thats always a way..

the only way ur never gonna be a pilot is ..if u give up on it.....

yes theres alot of set backs

    but dont give up

GO FIND A WAY... do alot research!!!

if ppl who lose legs in wars and still find a way to walk then u can be a pilot...

    JUST DONT GIVE UP

    GOOD LUCK

  • You went from the Delta Flight Training Academy straight to the right seat of a 757?? What happened to the Regional Airline part building up your turbine PIC time? (IE. ASA or Comair?)

  • you dont HAVE to go regional, many training programs work with major airlines to get the graduates into the big planes faster

  • you dont know what your talking about, plz stop posting stupid comments there are no flight schools that put there graduates into major carriers. No major airline is taking you just becaue you went to DCA ATP or Flight Safety .... Its unrealestic to think that a major airline like delta that requires thousands of hours of turbine PIC to turn around and hire somebody out of one of these schools just because they are a graduate and they have 800 hours total time

  • Sigh!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I agree with xXGETR0CKEDxX. There is absolutely know way for a fresh grad out of Flight Safety or ATP to end up in the right seat for a major airline. You need thousands of hours of turbine PIC to even have a shot at the majors. *You also forgot Regionals or Charters.* PLEASE DON'T POST ANY MORE VIDS ON THIS TOPIC!

  • No. No training program like ATP or Flight Safety can get you into the right seat for a major airline. They do work with brother companies like American Airlines to American Eagle. But in order to get a shot at the majors, you need thousands of hours of Turbine PIC.

  • ur definition of unrealistic is flawed then.

  • uh huh my my statment is flawed...¿¿?? Im not even going to go any further with you because its clear you have no idea what your talking about I am a CFI candidate at DCA and I can gurantee you am very famailar with our pilot placement program and we dont work with any majors ..... and I can tell you neither do any other schools

  • hey dude what song is this?

  • if everyone cared - Nickelback

  • Embry Riddle is the best Aeronautical University.

    It's the Harvard of aviation.

  • yeah....smells like 60k a year. the true dreamers dont have moneyz like dat

  • True but their are many ways in life to get things done.

No point plan A? then plan B. No plan B? the C and etc...

  • well, I think is Oxford aviation academy ( England) is a very good school with great simulator like 737, A330 etc.

  • Yes Oxford aviation is an awesome school.

    I agree!!!

  • YES I AGREEE!!!!

And you are right. But it's also the most expensive.

  • if anyone wants to know a different approach to being a pilot, message me, the way in this video is the most expensive(and risky) way.

  • Comment removed

  • I whant a not too expensive school, but good one. there are lots of schools that are very cheaper but relly bad.

  • Yes i know. For most you cant have both things in life.

This is what i would do. Go to any college(non-aviation) and major something you always wanted t o do besides flying. Like a back-up for example. Once you finish college go to a flight training school like Phoenix East Aviation, DCA, ATP flight school etc. Get your all of your license and earn your CFI and CFI II. Once you have your in business. You can get payed being an instructor and gain hours for the benefit. =)

  • Is a goo idea, but it would take too long don't you think? For a pilot that whant to work in a airline the youngest you are there the better.

  • True but you will realize that 80-87% of the furlough pilots are young.

    ''Age comes good wisdom"

There is no need to rush things. You will get there. But when you finally have that interview with an airline you want at least 82% of the advantage over the other guys for being qualified for a first officer position.. Yes u may have guys from the military but still at least you'll be #2 for the choice. But dont worry buddy. You'll get there =).

  • AVS=aviation high school

  • Those were the days!!!!!!!

  • Im gonna b a freshman at AVS next montg

  • Cool im gonna be a freshman at AVS next month.if u going hitmeup on my aim its r1cky2828

  • No I live in the us but we can make something happen to keep untouched alright bye mahammadz

  • hey thanx piperseminole100. no I'm sorry I dont have myspace anymore "waste of time..." you're in the US I'm guessing. but if u are in Australia I can give you some more advices on how to become a pilot e.g the correct steps to take in terms of studies & trainings required etc.

  • You're Welcome piperseminole100.

Yeah I'm a pilot too here in Australia and my dream is to be an airline pilot one day too.

  • good luck for you god will help you through your journay do you have aim or myspace if you do write your myspace and aim usernames down please thankes goodluck

  • Hi "piperseminole100" The biggest tip that I personally can give u is self-confidence and determination and accompanied by some hard work and study to get through the tests n exams.

  • thank you muhammadz im thankful for that do you fly real planes just asking

  • Im 17 and have just started reading for Private Pilot Lisence PPL. in 2 weeks I will be starting to have flying hours :)))) gl everyone

  • hello I'm 13 one thing is that people are judging you that your not and pilot for757 but don't listen to them another is that I'm overwhelmed to be a pilot but I'm still to young can you please help me and give tips on what i should do please good luck on your next 757 flight

  • People, keep your dreams alive! :D

  • That's a pity you that must be extremely good at sciences & maths to become a pilot(among others):-(

  • thats not true at all you only need to know basic logic math skills at most and some simple limited physics when it comes to explaining and teaching some aspects of flying

  • You dont need to be a rocket scientist, you need to be logical and be able to understand the concepts behind principles of flight physics- Main thing is you need the ability to learn, and alot of determination. Put the work in and it can be done, if you want it bad enough

  • Dude Im Going to be a freshman at AVHS in a month now but im thinking ill go to Embry Riddle for college

  • hey what song is that?

  • One of the Nickelback ones

  • if everyone cared by nickelback =)

  • I am a 13 year old boy and all my life i wanted to fly every day i learn about airplanes and how to fly them when im older i want to become an airline pilot ist my destinie .

  • Good Job Gregory! Ultimately that is my dream too!

  • MOAR COWBELL

  • and im formerly fly philippine airlines and i gain 400 hours there my experience there is 1year and 6months and im only 22-23 i gained 400 hrs there and i i have been trained there in 8months to 255 hours when im 20 yrs old

  • Comment removed

  • 1,384 total for right now i graduated to a total of 600 hours

  • im just flying a 737 in but if there is a a319 & a320

i can fly with it but there is only 737 available for me beacause korean air has no fleet with a320 and a319 but im allowed to fly a a319 and a320 when there is but they dont have fleet of it thats why only 737

  • So all your trying to say is that your certified to fly the A318 A319, A320 ,A321, etc?

We'll that is very nice. :) Nice to talk to a pilot with that airline. How much hours you got under your belt? Not only the 737 but overall. =)

  • korean air why?

  • im a airline pilot i only have 1 year and 2months experience in that airline company im just still allowed to flown a 737,a319,a320 but jumbos not yet i have a contact lens also and my age is only 25 im just a new hire.

  • hmmm what airline you fly for?

  • Ummmm... I go to Aviation high school rite now and i know for a fact that parts of this video are bull . There is no way he finished the delta connection academy flight program and got hired by delta to fly 757's. Delta is a legacy carrier and requires thousands of hours to fly as a first officer not to mention flying 757's. I would belive u if u said he went of to fly for a regional airline flying B1900D's but not this sorry u need to go bs somewhere else.

  • i know exactly i go to dca im about to start my cfi and II ... this video is total bs.... no instructor comes out of dca flying 757 for freakn delta about 3 instructors got hired about 3 months to GO JET... GO JET.... and this kid claims he got hired by Delta lmao a major legacy airline because i guess all of us who go to dca can just skip the regionals and get hired on by the majors flying 757's and its real funny how he wouldnt put any video of anytime at DCA its because he never went

  • Comment removed

  • What are the vision requirements?

  • 20/20 vision with or without lens

  • I want to be a pilot, but i wear contacts. Is that allowed?

  • yes

  • hell yeah

  • cool,i go to that high school=)

  • and do american companies hire ppl from out of america like the caribbean?

  • what degree did he do

  • BRAVO!

  • My dream tooo...just need £60,000!

  • Me too =(

  • awfull lot of money to pilot a bus...

  • a school he chosed?

  • i wonder what song is this?

  • Nickelback - If everyone cared :)

  • How long did it take u to get enoug hours to get hired byu delta

  • i was planning to go here? do you do flight training here or somewhere else? and how much is tuition?

  • i dint go to aviation high school =[[ but in collage im going to colorado to air force academy is that good??

  • Cab driver of the skies. Starting wage...$ Poverty level....

  • ground schools a good idea right?

  • How much do you get payed for being a co-pilot?

  • $55 / hourly rate

  • It's not bad.

  • i imagine that even getting to fly a billion dollar jet in the airforce isnt as easy as it sounds. actually, it isnt! so it might be the easy way to becoming an airline pilot in the future but the catch is..you gots to have the smarts to get into a government billion dollar fighter jet. from what ive heard and from what the ASVAB is all about. i was considering the whole airforce thing..but knowing how much of a shithead i am..i got the physical but not the brains AHA! fuck that!:D

  • yea along with some of the other people watching this i have always wanted to be a pilot. ive never wanted to do anything else. i was looking into going to the delta connection ademy untill i found out how much it was going to cost me! ive got 3 years to figure out where i want to go to get my training. im thinking of univirsity of western michigan, and UND. anyone have a place in mind for me on where i should go?

  • I always wanted to be a pilot. I am a truck driver instead driving triples. Not exactly the dream, but at 26 yrs. old and no money I will never be one.

  • im a pilot at 18. I know ppl who have done it at 34's. You do your dreams when u can, fight for them. You can still dedicate to aviation 34 years if u are 26... DO IT. Save the money that u use on bullshit and DO IT

  • This is my dream, I really wanna be a Airline Pilot! I always play Flight Simulator X at home. But later I will become one :D!

  • Too many pilots already and it costs a fortune. And in the end you are just a glorified bus driver that is away from home a lot. I suggest to get a real job! Just figure the costs yourself - you will need about 5000 hours to get into the right seat (copilot). Lots of twin hours and IFR are required. And if you are not a captain, the pay sucks. Get your VFR and IFR and fly for fun!

  • The thing is that, all the people around the world is retiring from aviation like the vietnam fighter pilots, so more careers in aviation will be open. Plus more people are discovering flying and airlines are more busy(people want decreased travel time). Also it's not about the pay it's about the love and dream of flying , yes the pay does suck when you are a co pilot but when you are a co pilot you want to become a captain so you stick with it.

  • wow you definatley dont need 5,000 hours to be hired by an airline. the minimum is 1,000. besides i hate it when people post negetive comments. just dont say anything at all. if its peoples dream to do this let us. besides it is a real job. its one of the most respectable one out there.

  • I am 14 and want to become a pilot. Do you think I could go to a Flight College when I'm older and make it. And do you think that is expensive for a Flight College. But I guess I could get a loan. Do you make good money? Cause I would have to pay off the loan.

  • there is the univirsity of north dakoda. and a few others (look up aviation colleges) on google. either way you choose to get all of your certificates and stuff. its going to be expensive and time consuming.

  • Can you fly with contacts or glasses?

  • Yes of course you can.

On your medical certificate you will be listed as "corrective lens"

  • sweet im 14 and im just starting looking at how to be one to it is a dream i had all my life. i love to be in the air.

  • Nice video,

what is the name of the song?

  • if everyone cared nickellback

  • ok buddy... monday i will be sure to stop by admissions and check out the graduation photo for 2002

  • if you went to DCA were do we do our run-ups at?

  • Dude, I'm at DCA right now... when did you go here?

  • I graduated in 2002. Im not suppose to say this lol but it's not good now as it was back then. It's just that i dont want to see pilots wasting their time and money there. I would recommend americanflyers, flight safety, or even phoenix east aviation. Good flight schools in the Florida state.

  • Wonderful job bro...didn't know u had this video. We gotta go flying again sometime. But i can never find the time. How's it going with Delta?

  • Ahhh hey Dave. Yeah we gotta go flying again sometime. I'll be free around the summer time but we'll see what happens. How's Jetblue going with u?

Im here stuck in london till Monday lol.

  • Jetblue is going great...too bad this this is my last year flying with them. My five year contract with them ends this year. I'll talk to you in the personal message

  • at what age did he get hired by delta to fly 757

  • I was 23 at the time and 20 when hired by comair.

  • wow that;s pretty young. I already startes my flight training at 13. I must say you are a real encouragement to me showing that even young people can be flying nice planes

  • What major did he go for?

  • in collage

  • Flight Operations

  • I doubt that they hired him right out of the acadamy into a 757 he probably first got placed in a CRJ or an EMB

  • Maybe he just went ahead of time and skip a huge portion of his life
