I'd have to agree and disagree. Find me one mmo that isn't ripping off of another. And then I think 90% of the interest in PW is it's customization. Once you get past that though, it's grind disguised by quests that are a pain in the butt you complete.
in Pw u have more options to customization you can have loads of different harstyle , eyes , ears , lips body shapes like (arms leggs chests , head etc) colors for your boddyparts
and different from wow u can fly during travel and fighting aswel as swimming
there is also time includin sunsets as sunrices...=x
and when u play hig graphics... to my opinion i prefer pw and soon Aion x) however DarkFal looks Ok. too P=

It's all very quest orientated. Like 90% of the time that is the only way you'll get a level. It's worth a play just to enjoy the game but many people quit after awhile because of how hard the upper levels are. I quit well before that because I realized I was playing too much and not getting very far. And the version I played on was international as well, just hosted in Malaysia.

bengan148, if you know what to do, you can make vista run fast. you just have to disable all the startup programs, disable some services, set vista to run in performance then make sure cpu is set to run 100% all the time. it's not that hard. i have vista and it runs just as good as xp
I think the quest system being the only way to level was the main downfall. I think I was so used to grind that when I got into the game and the grind was difficult it was just annoying and time consuming. Never thought I'd miss it.
Quests aren't the only want to level. Quests are an EASIER way to level at level 1 through 40. After fourty, quests start to lose their "umph" and you kind of have to resort of grinding and other misc ways like team leveling in parties. It's really not THAT hard. By level 10, you should have a stable guild. Guilds, if good, help you level and they help you in general with harder quests. The game, in my opinion is better than WoW and other MMORPGs. (:
I had a guild, I ended up in one in CB and we stuck together until OB. My major issues with the game was that I got so addicted to it and it seemed like the leveling took so long. It wouldn't feel that way if I was grinding. But I've never found another mmo that was as fun as this one. But now all my guild quit so I have no one to play with really.
guild wars is like that. you have to do quests to be able to level fast. in a way, it's fun. and there are places to grind but usually the fastest XP is just completing quests.
The only annoying thing about PW's quests is that you'll be in one town and it's like "HEY, go to this town" like in most games. And you'll be back and forth between the two. Otherwise the quests are just "go kill this, go give this to so and so" and some of them are timed. So be sure not to use your town teleport skill too often if you know that quest is coming up.

Not saying that's a bad thing, I currently play two games. WoW and certain other game that has a completely different environment, interface, community, graphics, AND gameplay in most aspects. I enjoy both. Go play what YOU like best and let others play what they like. It's not anything out of your coin pouch...
Combat in WoW will remain something ~95% of MMO's out there will not have. At least not on the same scale. (I'd say 1 out of 20 might...). I mean the active movement in "lagless" environment, as in mage & hunter "trickery" gameplay against opponents, tanks moving out of the way of strong "boss" abilites, entire bunch of people moving as one big unit to avoid death, and so on. Combat in most games is still "click on a monster to autoattack, use 1 additional skill repeatedly until it's over."
If you're talking dungeons PW does have those too. I didn't play through any dungeons in the two runs I did. There are some good duos you can do and good dungeon strategies that are more than just "point, click, hit a key, repeat" tactics. But I think what got a lot of people interested in PW was the customization of the characters. Oh and flying. I think Aion is the next game that will draw tons of players.
I don't see how. World of Warcraft is a very different game. And if that's how you feel then every game is a rip off of some game. In fact I recall people saying WoW had copied off of some other game. Therefore WoW are the ones who stole the idea.
tbh, you act as if this doesnt happen all the time. For example; Flyff, Tartaros and SEALonline pretty much copied ROSEonline. But this is actually a good game :)
I really want to play this game =[. It's just that there is so much work you have to put into installing the game, then patching it and if that doesn't work downloading things to change your proxy etc. If only other games followed the direction of this one since I'm tired of looking like someone's twin in other games (Oh yeah I'm looking at you 9Dragons)
I never really got into WoW. I don't know why. Anyways, PW is very quest driven and grinding is worse than Korean mmos so if you have the time it's great. I think the main point of this game is the customization and the flying. Oh, and the pk. The map system is pretty cool too.

Most definitely. It's very customizable. You can even put pictures into a folder somewhere in the game files and open it in the game so you can use it as a reference.

depends on what do you mean by boring.. if you get bored on one character you can always make another from another race and have totally different ablilites and quests... from lvl 20 the quests get the same for every class and race tho..
The traveling quests are welcome but still annoying. Mostly cause the best leveling you'll get is from quests. Grinding is pretty difficult and time consuming. And Pleveling? Forget it.
I think most mmos need better quest. They all kind of do the same thing. It'd be good if they took feedback from their players, but most mmos are from some sort of asian market. Like the one thing we were all wanting in PW was genderless mounts where a girl could ride a mount with a girl and vice versa. I guess it takes gamers to know what makes a good game.

but its not about the dam start up.. its about when u have it running lol. playing games, listening to music or just surfing.
vista can NEVER be as fast as XP.
and XP cant as fast as win98. (but its not suporting all games now)

I mean the active movement in "lagless" environment, as in mage & hunter "trickery" gameplay against opponents, tanks moving out of the way of strong "boss" abilites, entire bunch of people moving as one big unit to avoid death, and so on. Combat in most games is still "click on a monster to autoattack, use 1 additional skill repeatedly until it's over."

If you're talking dungeons PW does have those too. I didn't play through any dungeons in the two runs I did. There are some good duos you can do and good dungeon strategies that are more than just "point, click, hit a key, repeat" tactics. But I think what got a lot of people interested in PW was the customization of the characters. Oh and flying. I think Aion is the next game that will draw tons of players.

I don't see how. World of Warcraft is a very different game. And if that's how you feel then every game is a rip off of some game. In fact I recall people saying WoW had copied off of some other game. Therefore WoW are the ones who stole the idea.

tbh, you act as if this doesnt happen all the time. For example; Flyff, Tartaros and SEALonline pretty much copied ROSEonline. But this is actually a good game :)

I really want to play this game =[. It's just that there is so much work you have to put into installing the game, then patching it and if that doesn't work downloading things to change your proxy etc. If only other games followed the direction of this one since I'm tired of looking like someone's twin in other games (Oh yeah I'm looking at you 9Dragons)

I heard that it stopped getting updates. They seem to be stingy with the patches from the other servers. Either way, it is still a pretty good game.

I never really got into WoW. I don't know why. Anyways, PW is very quest driven and grinding is worse than Korean mmos so if you have the time it's great. I think the main point of this game is the customization and the flying. Oh, and the pk. The map system is pretty cool too.

From what I read about the game, you can battle in the air and on mounts. Sounds fun to me, at least its better than the crashing WoW.

Most definitely. It's very customizable. You can even put pictures into a folder somewhere in the game files and open it in the game so you can use it as a reference.

depends on what do you mean by boring.. if you get bored on one character you can always make another from another race and have totally different ablilites and quests... from lvl 20 the quests get the same for every class and race tho..

The traveling quests are welcome but still annoying. Mostly cause the best leveling you'll get is from quests. Grinding is pretty difficult and time consuming. And Pleveling? Forget it.

I think most mmos need better quest. They all kind of do the same thing. It'd be good if they took feedback from their players, but most mmos are from some sort of asian market. Like the one thing we were all wanting in PW was genderless mounts where a girl could ride a mount with a girl and vice versa. I guess it takes gamers to know what makes a good game.
