  • @adancerXOXO Sally Hansen Extremes wear ,Sunful colors, and Sally Hansen Insta Dry work the best for water marble

  • wat are some good nail polish brands for marbling because i found that not all work!!

  • Comment removed

  • my nail polish doesnt ring out, at all! :/

  • i always put tape on but my nails never look that perfect all around the fingers!!! LOL

  • Are you supposed to stick your finger straight into the water or are you supposed to go at an angle?

  • Does the base coat have to be completely dry before dipping?

  • can you do more than 1 nail at a time so as to not waste a lot of nail polish?

  • i have a question, i get those little bubbles on my nails and the surface isnt even, is there any reason why it happens ?

  • So i tried this tonight and some nails look real cool and the colors look motr neon bright. I used the same amount anf same colors but the colors look different on some nails. It still looks good though cause every nail is differrnt so its not that bad. I love all your vids and helpful tips.

  • U can dip 2fingers at once but they have to go in the water at the same time or the first finger will mess up the second finger or the second finger will mess up the first finger check out simplepleasures videos she does them perfectly

  • Anything u put in the water?

  • @KLeeBell It's usually just plain water that's filtered room temp. No additives :)

  • Thats really cool i love the colors

  • I don't use a base coat and it works just fine!(:

  • Oh my gosh! That is so cool!! I'm totally gonna try it

  • ive never done water marble art on my nails b4 and im very glad that i watched this video first bcuz i know a lot more info then other vids would of given me. thank you soooo much!!! <3 =)

  • WhAT do you mean by until it hardens??

  • @bkcrochet until the nail polish dry's on top of the water, bc its exposed to air. it gets kinda hard.

  • Love the info, it helped me a lot, but you speak so fast! I do have another question - how dry does the basecoat have to be before you dip?

  • lol i should have watched all ur vid before i tried because everything u said not to do i did but will be trying this again soon.!

  • omg i LOVE this i am about to do it right NOW!!

  • Wat angle do u put ur fingers in the water??

  • That coo

  • grrrrrrrr!!! this video is amazing and i thought i could do it but my nails are butt ugly...but thx though :)

  • thank you soo much!!!! i am definately making a christmas version of this :D<3

  • hope this works!

  • This is video and all of your others show some pretty neat techniques, but you do quite a bit of chattering which in turn seems to be making it difficult for you to edit your videos and they're quite a bit longer than what's really necessary. There are several occasions where there's an abrupt change in subject in mid-sentence.

  • Make a video of how you get your nails to be perfect!! <3

  • how old were u when u started painting nails

  • can you do a room tour ? :D

  • @TheUnicornGangsta is just one cup i think

  • apparently you can also put moisturizer or Vaseline on your fingers to prevents the nail polish sticking to your skin rather than spending all that time with the tape

  • im having a really hard time painting my left side can u please a make a vid about it please, thank u

  • i tried this!!!

  • your so gorgeous! You kinda look like Mandy Moore!

  • how shld u dispose of the water? like if you put it in the sink wouldnt it like clog the drain? n it cant be good to dump it outside!!

  • Amazing, I'm trying it tomorrow asap!

  • Hey what were the exact polish and colors that you used? I love how your nails turned out. Very Easter

  • Do the nails polishs have to be the same brand

  • @comedygang100 no it doesnt have to be although i am not her i still want to help u guys

  • Wow the voice is funny!!!=)

  • i did a water marble with like darker and lighter colors in one and i didnt use the base coat, but because i used so many thick drops of the nail polish, it still looked just as good.

  • I Wait Till The Nails Dry To Take The Tape Off.. In Case It Touches My Nail.. So It Wont Mess It Up

  • i tried and i couldnt get it !! its so hard ! i guess you can just get the hang of it

  • This is 2 everyone who is asking this girl about water marbling don't ask her go to SimpleLittlePleasures shes the one that started all the water marbling stuff and she does get back to all the questions so go to her channel and videos and check them out :)

  • what kind of water are you using?

  • Do you NEED to put the clear coat then the white? Can we put the polish on without the coats?

  • @QueenTheKing When i did it, I didn't do clear cote OR white, and it worked fine!

  • what if its not scotch tape and its the reallyy clear tape ? will it still work?

  • @JulezRulez4288 I used super clear tape and it worked!

  • i tried to do this whitout a base-coat, i don't think there is any difference between having a base-coat and not...

  • Hi. Can you use '3 free' nail polishes for this e.g. Nubar?

  • The constant thing that knaws at me is how do you make the water room temperature?!

  • @TheMochaMonster Well now its not going to knaw you anymore! I have the answer. What i do is fill up an empty bottle of water and leave it out sitting like not in the refirigerator but just like in the bathroom or wherever you do water marbling and leave it out for at least 10 hours then do it.

  • I dont get how to tape your nails up

  • I dont get how to tape your nails uo

  • I've never used a base coat and it works fine. It's cool in the pattern to let your nail show through. :)

  • thanks so much for sharing!! I am totally going to try this! you are very informative and helpful :D

  • NEXT TIME U CLEAN UP THE NAIL POLISH OUT THE CUP USE Q-TIPS

  • i really like ur tecniques but i feel sad when i have to skip 13 minutes of a 15 minute long video. :( i dont want to hurt any1s feelings but my humble suggestion to u is to summarize the steps of your video b4 u record it so u get the optimum effectiveness and dont overwhelm your veiwers ;) ~Keep recording!

  • The first marble that i like!!! Beautiful!

  • what kind of water do u use

  • which nail polishes would you recommend for water marbling

  • Ya mine nail polish does that same thing but I use NYC color....is it the water or the polish??

  • when i put the drops of nail polish in it almost immediately turns into a film. i can barely even swirl it around with the toothpick. is it the kind of nail polish i'm using? i use sally hansen insta-dri

  • @mls8583

Hi! You are definitely using the wrong sort of polish. You want to use one that does NOT dry too quickly. That's why you can't swirl it: it's drying too fast! Try a creamy polish, or any other Sally Hansen formula. They work nicely, especially the Xtreme Wear which is usually the cheapest. ;)

  • @zenbrooklyn thank you so much!

  • im going 2 try this right now :D

  • Tip: If you put lotion around your nail or on the top half of your fingers the nailpolish will wipe off of your skin and prevent the nailpolish in the cup from sticking to you ^_^

  • Glad that you made this vid. <3

  • Thank you for sharing this. My nail are very short and I going try your marble art on Sunday (My first time on the 18th of September 2011) I will e-mail you what happens.

    Thanks Angie x x x

  • fyi:: on a top from a friend... i coated around the tip of my finger, sides, cuticle, and up my finger with rosebud salve (i think any kind will do) and the polish wipes right off when you pull you nail out.. this works if you dont have tape (me!) or mess with tape.. :P

  • How do you do that i tried some manny times and it dose not work do you need new nail polish

  • how do u spread the polish when its in the water? is there any particular way to spread the polish?? thanks x

  • I have tried my very first time without a base coat because I didn't know it was needed. Basically I ended up with some bald spots where the polish did not cling to the nail. It didn't look horrible, but the base coat definitely gives the water marble something to cling on to so the design doesn't mess up or form any gaps. I'll try to send you some pics on facebook.

  • haha when you put the colors in the water it totally looks like dr. suess' oh the places you'll go :)

  • it works better if you use chapstick or lipgloss instead of tape. you just do the same thing with the lipsgloss/chapstick as the tape

  • If You Dont Use The Bottom Coat The Marbleing Cine Out More Clear

  • thank you! you answered all the questions I had too! you're so pretty!

  • thanks a lot for this tutorial! you answered a lot of my questions which popped up during watching and I just wondered if shimmer or glitter would work as well. all the marble manis always used cremes, so I suppose shimmer and glitter won't work as well ... I think I'm gonna try out holographic ones just once, if they work ^^

  • Does ur nails have to be long?

  • @Missannieloves

    no. why? ;)

It doesn't matter how long your nails are, you just get a bigger design on longer nails, because there's more room. But the marble patterns will work on short nails just the same.

  • DAT SEEMS ESY IM GOIN TO TRY IT

  • sorry meant lotion instead of tape guys..

  • you can use lotion instead of polish its so much easier.... worked great for me

  • how long does it take to dry after doing the water marbling design???????

  • I usually don't use a base and I like the way it looks. I marble my nails and my daughter's every 2 weeks. Ours lasts 2 weeks and I just use cheap polish from Walmart. The brand is Pure Ice. I have never found a shade in that brand that doesn't work. Quick Dry polish will not work (at least not the Revlon Rapid). Pure Ice is less than $2 and it lasts 2 weeks without a base coat and looks awesome. My daughter's friends thinks she has her nails done professionally. :)

  • what nail polish did you use? cuz when i used barry m and other ones they didnt work with the water at all! does opi work?

  • How deep do you put your finger in??

  • Hi. I have tried everything to get the water marble right. I have left a container with water out overnight and I tried it today and it didn't work. Also, my nail polish won't spread. I use Color Club but it either sticks to my toothpick or it sinks to the bottom.

  • Hey Jen, I have the problem were everything I do water marbling and then I apply my top coat it gets destroyed. How long should I wait to apply the base coat?

  • Comment removed

  • what nail varnish do you use because i tryd it with bouteque and barry m and they dont spead out they just go to the bottom and how much and were?

  • hi Jenny,

do you use a top coat after you do the marble designs? would use recommend using a top coat to keep the polish from fading or peeling? Thanks!

  • Would this work with fake nails as well?

  • Ok so how do u make ur nail polish spread? Mine won't spread!

  • @BowChickaWowWow345 nither will myn

  • I have a big problem with water drops on my nails after I pull them out of the water. Then they pop and I have holes in teh polish all over my nail. Do you have any idea why I am getting this or how I can prevent it? Thanks :)

  • love it love it love it!

Can't wait for my nails to look like that :D

  • Do you use a topcoat after?

  • i am having a hard time with the design part of water marbling because the nail polish sticks to the stick and clumps to where it doesnt stay in the water.

  • I do not use white as a base coat but one of the colors im using for the design cuz any spot that does not have the design on the nail will show the white.

  • do you have to wait for the white coat to dry before dipping your finger?

  • @caps8890 Yes that is very important

  • Is it possible to dunk in two nails at once or the second nail a second later depending on how the design has turned out?

    Thanks!

  • @10squidplease You have to either do two at a time or just one. U can't dunk in and then dunk in another

  • Does it matter what type of water you use? Like regular water bottle water or out of the sink

  • @samville123 Filtered water works best

  • you better have been in the kitchen when you made this video

  • beautiful, prefect I love Marble <3

  • I did my two younger sisters nails with water marble last week. one with a base coat oh white and one without, exact same effect. Nothing changed at all. So use it or dont ti wont matter

  • Just brilliant!!! I have now subscribed !! Excellent channel!! Thank you so much!! X

  • Try blowing on the excess polish after you dip your nail (before you pull it out). instead of waiting for it to dry . It is such a thin coat of polish that it dries instantly.

  • This was such the coolest thing, I just had to subscribe..

  • Great video! Trying this out tomorrow. One question though, are u wearing fake nails?

  • Most informative water marble tutorial ever! :D Thank you sooo much.

  • can u do this with the katty perry crackle polish??

  • what happens if the nail polish doesn't spread?

  • @makeupmania123 Try using bottled water. Or filtered. It spreads it better

  • @makeupmania123 if it doesnt spread...your polish is too thick so u can make it thinner by adding a few drops of Nail Polish Remover.

  • @makeupmania123 Then you just don't get a really good 'bulls eye', watch my tutorial to see what i mean

  • @makeupmania123 it means the nail polish is very thick .

  • @makeupmania123 then you have to try it with another one

  • @makeupmania123 you need to use room tempature filter water and you might need to use either a different nail polish because some nail polishes wont spread well so you need to test it out before you do your water marble. some nail polished that works well for water marbling is china glaze, sally hansen's and wet'n'wild:)

  • THANK YOU!! :D

  • i used the vasaline and it worked great! just wipe it off after you dip your nail and all the extra polish comes right off!

  • this is my favorite water marble coloring i've seen!

  • I have one question. I normally get bubbles in my marble design on my nail. Why is that and how can I avoid it?

  • OMG :O That is so cool :D I might try this with some of mine at home next time :D I love this !!

  • the middle finger bald spot looks epic!

  • wht kind of polish is it is it water color nail plis

  • does the base have to be completely dry before you dip your finger in the water?

  • Super exited to test this out.

  • you really don't need to leave your finger in the water for that long. just dip them in. and a dixie cup works great!

  • you really don't need to leave your finger in the water for that long. just dip them in

  • Ohhhh So You Put Your Finger All The Way Under ? Is There A Special Motion To Do That ??

  • it worked ! and just for anyone who is curious, i used sallys nail polish and it worked just fine.

  • The base color makes the marble design look better also helps the colors pop out more. If you don't use the base coat the marble design will come out looking a bit transparent. I tested it out with out a base and that's how it comes out looking.

    - This is for anyone who was wondering if they needed a base coat or what would happen if you don't use one.

  • ????????? could you use like tap water or does it have to be bottled water???????

  • @ahmazing123456789 tap water is fine

  • do you have to have a base i dont have any but i hope you dont need to

  • If you have really short nails how do you water marble them?

    Miscutie101 just tody

  • how big are your daisy perfumes?! woah!

  • Wow! your lashes! tell us your secret!

  • also, can you do this on acrylic nails ?

  • can you do this to your toe nails ? and this is so cool, i suck a painting my nails so i feel like this would be perfect for me, haha. get back to me when you can :)

  • Do you ever have to change the water?? If you do how often do you change it?? Thx this was a really good tutorial!!!

  • i tried this and it didn't work :(

  • is that just water in the cup?

  • The nail polish i used dried way to quick.

  • Thank you! I've seen tons of videos on how to do this but you've had the first video that answered all my questions. <3

  • i tried this and failed :(

  • @makeupbysammy11 ME TOO, MINE JUST MADE A MESS,

  • can you use glitter polishes ?

  • how far do you put your finger in?

  • i saw ur fav perfume from victoria secret super model on sale 50% off! i live in LA and saw it various stores. just letting you know :)

  • This is one of the most amazing ideas ever!! And I can't wait to try it out:)

  • wow how did that do that?? lol ive never seen this and i am mesmorized!!!

  • I love your nails! <3

  • I love this!! I had never seen it before! So cool and pretty, I'll try it tomorrow! :D

  • I just spent a few hours messing around with different polish brands, colours etc to see what works best.

One thing don't use shimmer, the particles break apart and disperse in the water, cheaper or thinner polish works better; O.P.I and nails Inc worked best, in the UK elf polish worked well. Rococo is too thick, priti polish separated, Essie was ok but didn't spread out amazingly, no.7 from boots worked very well, max factor polishes worked well and I'll be testing more tomorrow! Hope it help

  • @talli8cakes

i found that the more expensive and newly bought ones work better . :O

  • amazing idea :o

  • Thank you for this video! I did mine after watching this and I'm sooo in love with them <3

  • It's so dumb how people are asking questions she JUST ANSWERED

  • Does it matter what what type of polish you use (brand)?

  • Man, I just tried on all my nails and none of them worked. :\

  • does the nailpolish get off of the container?

  • omg, sosososo nice

  • does it work using cheap nail polish
