This would be considered carefull riding in my country (sadly). In Portugal we have bikers and car drivers much worst than this ones. That's why we have Europe record of death and serious injuries on road. Portugal, France, Spain, Roumania and Italy: Latin blood... Anyway, I'm very tempted to go live in Greece, a lovely country.

Nice video, you looks like a professional crazy rider, but i think this bike isn´t for you, if you like to take the curves to touch the asphalt, i recommend to you a super bike, or something like hayabusa, or a F1 , Z1000, think about it man, then if you crash, the heavy weight of our Vstrom can make a critical wound to the legs. hey, keep the distance to the other riders. is a good habit.

I used to ride like that in the 70's, then I started making my living off of people who rode like that and ended up in rehab hospitals. Looks like fun... well I used to ride like that too so I guess I understand.

I'm not liking crossing the centerline prior to the turn in for a corner, especially four or five bikes all in a row doing it. If you can't keep it in your lane, you need to bring the pace back a hair, or take it to a track.

Poor and amateurish riding. I'm guessing one of you by now is either dead or injured, or has caused grief to another driver/rider.

I used to be one of the guys who scraped brains off pavement, flushed blood off the road and packed up what was left in a body bag. Sad part is that it was often some innocent person who got forced off the road or run into by little people like you.

Best thing to do is volunteer on highway rescue . Amazing how your riding improves.

I am freekishly jealous...I was supposed to get a used V-strom650 in August but had to cancel plans...Now concidering getting a 2009 brand new one.Any tips? What are they like as far as safety and consumption are concerned? Are they comfortable in narrow streets and traffic jams?

Get the ABS model if you can afford it. They have excellent fuel economy and are a stable long bike and the extra height is great for traffic around town, and it does well in the often poorly maintained city streets. Big fuel tank and excellent fuel economy (average 50s), although high speed aerodynamics are poor. Seat and shield are all most people need to make it a great tourer. Had six bikes, and this is my second slowest but best "do everything" bike to date.

the dl650 is the camera bike! that little close call at :53 I'd say that was almost a ride ender! lots of risk in this video. however I LOVE my dl650 and it will reliably hit the pegs if you force it. if the rider doesnt lean off the bike like his buddies the pegs will hit more often. hang off the side a bit and you can make those corners without pushing the envelope so hard.
