The first time i heard this was as a cover by a aussie band called "found my direction" An epic circle pit started and i was riding on the back on my best mate.
one of my earliest and favorite HC memories. Cheers 7 Seconds. Cheers FMD.
I can't believe how young these guys were when they ruled Reno HC and inspired thousands from Mexico to Montreal. Probably one of the best Hardcore bands ever, not to mention pioneer of the sound... Makes me proud to have been part of the movement.
Kevin wouldn't let me in to see Ian MacKaye's band The Evens a couple years ago in Sacramento because he said it was too packed. Ian was trying to get us all in and he was being a pussy saying it was passed capacity.
DFL was on tour with 7 seconds and got flooded out in oregon
I sure wish we continued and went around cause this band is the F*@King shit kevin seconds is a great artist and 7 seconds is one of the best bands today ...crazy tom

Anyone who remembers these guys from their beginning is no longer young; there are a few hangers-on who still go to shows but most of them have kids of their own.
oh I know he is a bassist now, but before he started playing bass for GNR he played drums in alot of punk bands like Fastbacks, 7 seconds.. stuff like that I could be mistaken though he also plays bass for 10 second warning.. I am sure he was in 7 seconds as well though
Duff did play with 7 seconds for a short time .. do you know if there is any footage of him in the band (I like them beyond the GNR connection by the way )
SKINS -- BRAINS -- GUTS ... Tears in my eyes ... I ordered this through mail-order when it came out ... It was an instant CLASSIC!!! ... Every time they came to SOUTH FLORIDA I was there ... One of my all time Favorites!!!

seven seconds was a early hardcore band they were never part of the post hardcore thing or "emotinol hardcore thing" and ps todays emo is completly unrealated from post hardcore
Now I know you must be thinking There is something wrong. How could I have the nerve To write this song? Well, it's like I've got this feeling. Stripped away of pride. A crazy mixed up feeling That I just can't hide Emotion is this great thing We've all got it. Let it show. If u can share emotion, Then by all means let me know. And if we wanna make a better world today. SPREAD IT! SPREAD IT! THIS WORLD OVER! GO!
exactly, its so sad to see kids nowadays not paying respect to quite possibly one of the first bands that played hardcore and developed the scene. what's next? calling Minor Threat or Flipper fags?
i dont get why you kids go psycho when someone calls 7 secons Emo, they are an EMOtional Hardcore (thats what EMO stands for) band, thats what emo sounded like back in that day, pretty cool huh? but nowaday is pretty lame. just like punk, some people call bands like GreenDay punk and nobody gets pissed, but they dont sound like the punk form the 70's or 80's...
genres evolve, and well, in the case of emo it was NOT for good
its no emotional, you idoit, its passionate, if it was emotional it would be lyrics bout killing yourself cause people dislike you,THATS EMO, dont call MY music emo again, and no one calls greenday punk, they are pop-punk, punk is just a word like classical rock, no one knows what it means and unless you wer around when it was called 'rock' you will never be classical rock, hence why punk is orginal british punk back in the 70's not modern pop version of it. AND EMO BACK IN THE DAY WAS NOT THIS!
I agree about the what your saying about emo music and how this was not emo, but 7 seconds was emotional. How can you say that a song like this one isn't. 7 Seconds let every thing come straight from the soul, that's what emotional is. It's quite a shame that some people like you beleive emotion is only shit about slitting your wrists or killing yourself or some shit like that. 7 Seconds had a hell of a lot more emotion than Hawthorne Heights who the youth of today thinks IS Hardcore.
lol I use to go to Kevin Seconds parties at his apartment in Reno .... fun memories !!! great local band back in my high school days in the 80's :) LOVE YOU KEVIN !!
indeed 7 seconds was one of the first EMOtional Hardcore bands to hit the scene, back in that day the "emo" scene had nothing to do with what is it today
They were a staightedge hardcore band. Stoptrying to make a fuckin connection. EMOTIONAL. Every 80s hadcore band was emotional about their fuckin music. They actually cared. Honestly I hate the fuckin word emo. Call this band or that band emo whatever. It doesn't mean shit to me. But evey one makes a big deal about it. I'm just correcting that satatement. If thats how you look at it than every 80s hardcore band is "Emotional Hardcore." Now it seems kinda rediculouse huh.
Loved them! Does anyone remember what album this song came from? It'll spare me the effort of rummaging through old cassette tapes...

But what I'd like to see in the world most today.

No true my dear, the EMOTIONAL HARDCORE bands know back in that day where:
Beefeater, Fugazi, Embrace, 7 seconds and a lot more, that had a different style than classic hardocre bands like
Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, DOA, Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, etc...
the problem is that nowadays the word EMO represents something completely different of what it represented back in that day.
cheers
