The guitar solo in my opinion is the best ever played by Page .. Hell it's the best blues song ever ... Oh Hell this is the song that made me wanna pick up the guitar in the first place lolz
stop nagging about mistakes... honestly there arent any to an ordinary ear anyway, and if youre good enough to spot mistakes, you must good enough to play this better than this man but im sure you arent
@mRaWeSoMe1894 I agree with you....but it's not being played identical to the the way it's on the record or how Page played it live. @ 30-33 secs the rake/pinch harm is played in a standard pentatonic shape in F. High E 16th fret to 13th fret and rake the harmonic strumming up while barring 13th fret. It's easy to play but difficult to get to sound just right. I believe the live version from TSRTS Page plays it 2 or 3 times and it sounds awesome.
That sounds terrible... nothing like the original. I think the solo is supposed to be played slower than this. But apart from the tempo, it just sounds wrong. Not saying that I can do better though.
@TaroGabunia Just because he didn't play it note for note, or just because you suck and you won't be able to play like that ever in your life, does not mean it's 'fraught with mistakes.' Sigh, internet trolls...
@Dashooter911 dude, alot of songs of led zeppelin are played with an other guitar than a les paul? so wtf are you bitching about this is an amazing cover
@Dashooter911 Dude, even the stairway solo wasn't recorded with a Les Paul- it was recorded with a blue Fender Strat. No what your'e talking about before you post stupid crap.
I'm pretty sure Jimmy used a Telecaster for the Stairway solo. And also a Les Paul was used for most of Zeppelin's studio recordings. I think every album but the first actually... 0.o
That's the closest I've ever seen anyone come to getting that solo right. Thanks Lick Library, Jamie is an awesome guitarist. This was one of Page's early blues masterpieces. What makes it practically impossible to get it note for note is that Page could get slightly sloppy in his approach to hitting notes when he was ripping. He had an old school blues style approach as opposed to a modern ultra clean Vai, Rhoads, VH style of ripping through scales. It's harder to hear every single note he
@DJBkrabi Hi there, thanks for the question, the tutors on our DVD's talk you through how to play the songs note for note - chord for chord, section by section. This gives you the chance to really learn a part - pause - then move on when your ready to the next bit. As the tutorial dvd is set out like this, there is unfortunately no tabs. I hope that helps? The link to the DVD is in description if you need a little more info - otherwise give us a shout back with any other questions!!
its' a music man axis...the reason why it looks like a wolfgang it's because it was evh signature model and changed name when eddie switched to peavey
@marsdvema Sure is! But it's important to remember that the guitar itself is only a small piece of the whole tone. The strings, your playing style/picking style, the pick ups, and everything else down the line (pedals, amp, etc.) all have a huge effect on the final tone.
damn those strings are fat
