That's very kind of you to respond. I wonder if the electro tape I referred to comprises much of that film's sountrack (it was made for me by a friend circa 1987). The tape has also got 'Us Girls', and 'Beat Street Breakdown' itself on it.
I later bought a Sugar Hill Gang/Grandmaster Melle compilation CD and found the latter song in a disappointingly truncated form, vs the version I was used to.
This is a somewhat anaemic version - the one I've got an old electro tape is far harder and funkier. Still sounds good, but it's not as good as it can be.
