  • Good tutorial but for the scars keep using that stuff but try just a bit of rigid collodion

Don't use alot but it's good for some parts

  • He's over tiered...look at hie eyes!

  • Great Job Aeni!

  • He already looks like him.

  • I like turtles.

  • Very cool

I also do Joker scars, but on myself lol

Your good at get those scars right i'm okay i guess but i'd Also Say Rigid Colloidion also great scaring effects, TheTilly also states id PEELS off

  • that guy is mucho sexy!!!!

  • where can i buy Ben Nye Scar FX gelatin?

  • Theatrical supply stores (call ahead) or use Google to find an online shop.

  • @xXTombRaiderBoiXx you can buy the mehroh equivalent from my website just type in stagedoor hudderfield on google and we should be the first the first site you see and type what your looking for in the search bar hope this helps :)

  • What kind of tool are you using to apply and sculpt the gelatin on his face? Much appreciated!

  • A stainless steel makeup spatula. There are no sharp edges to it that would make it dangerous to use. You can buy it online at any makeup supply store that has the Ben Nye gelatin buildup.

  • your model guy is soo freakin HOTT!!!

  • I agree:)

  • and i do not.

  • looks pretty gay, i would say :)

  • Cool vid Aeni. It's Nick here.

  • How long do these scars last? DO you have any issues with it pealing and such?

  • A few hours and not so much in heat as it will melt. Ben Nye gelatin doesn't peel like Mehron's gelatin. Also, if you need it to last for a little while longer, stipple layers of prosaide and sealer (Green Marble sealer is excellent) over it - 4 should be good. Then paint and powder when you're finished.

  • i gotta admit that guy is pretty hot.

  • he looks like the man who plays scarecrow in batman begins

  • Cillian Murphy plays scarcrow

  • his name is cillian murphy and ya he does

  • Does your friend have tourretes by any chance?

  • No. It was his first time being in front of a camera getting makeup done though if that had anything to do with it.

  • Sincerely, good job to all those dedicated makeup artists and scar-schemers this year, but THANK GOD no more Joker Makeup tutorials. Well, these folks are just having fun, I guess, but seriously, thank God.

  • It just makes me wonder what the next big movie for Halloween'll be. Either way I'm happy that TDK made people so much more interested in makeup and MUFX.

Though I'll admit I was disappointed no one wanted to be Simple Jack this year.

  • I got into it with Freddy Krueger, which is infinitely harder to accomplish.

  • ...............or get rigid collodion.

  • I don't like using collodion. I realize you may not follow IATSE Union codes and safe practices but you should know collodion contains ether (a tranquilizer) and needs acetone to be removed. You can pull it off but it irritates the skin with repeated use and application. Also it doesn't keep very well - as soon as you open it it will start to slowly evaporate and thicken just like liquid latex will.

    But to each his/her own.

  • hey aeni, i've used regular knox gelatin to make burns and i keep running into the same problem, where after it dries it gets really stiff and some of my edges chip off.

would you say i'm better off using ben nye gelatin or am i doin something wrong here?

hope to hear from you soon :)

  • What's your full recipe? I don't ever use Knox but use bloom and sorbitol in my own - but I make HUGE batches of gelatin to make appliances with.

If you're doing the scars and just want to do a build up, just buying the Ben Nye will be more cost effective in the long run.

  • im not making prosthetics. just heating up water, addin it to knox gelatin powder, mix then apply onto the skin and sculpt it.

i'm goin to make a big burn on the side of my face like freddy krueger, i'll probably end up buyin a bottle of the ben nye.

but thank you for replying! :)

  • Lol - no problem. Doing it that way is like making Jello and putting it on your face...only way less tasty.

  • where do you get the gelatin/?

  • Easleys Fun Shop. Youtube isn't letting me reply back to you so well, so you'll just have to google that.

  • ive made heaps of joker scars with latex, silicone and wax and i did use gelitin but i never saw ones this good

is this the same method used in the movie cos i havant seen this done before

  • The method used in the movie was called injected silicone appliances. It's a testy and slightly difficult process that I can't describe or show on here.

  • ive tried making them with silicone

how would you stick them on because spirit gum dousent last so long

  • No other adhesive will stick with silicone except for silicone glues (which are very expensive). The best silicone glue I find is made by PPI called Telesis 5. Don't forget to get the thinner.

  • ok thanks youve been a great help

  • what was that, you put on the side of his lips?

  • Ben Nye Scar FX gelatin.

  • is there something else we can use instead of witch hazel?? for the blending?

  • A taklon brush and some warm water.

  • thank you! i order mehron gelatin, will it be the same? and to make the scars is it difficult?, im doing it on a client.

  • No the Mehron one lifts its edges. It has very little staying power and IMO is a waste of money. If you can return/exchange it, I'd advise that.

The scars aren't difficult to do. For someone who never has done it before, most likely "yes". So practice with it before you work on your client.

  • thanks. but the website doesnt have the ben nye one. but doesnt the Ben Nye Theatrical Makeup

Nose and Scar Wax work?? :/ thanks you for replyin

  • Which site? Easleys? It's there - call tomorrow and ask for Greg if you don't see it.

  • how well does the ben nye hold up over time?

  • I used mostly all Ben Nye products so I'm a little confused. Which product are you referring to?

  • The face makeup. And the gelatine. over time being a night of talking, eating, drinking ,sweating. The aplication looks great nice coverage.

  • The gelatin will disintegrate while you sweat. There is a way to help the gelatin last a little longer.

  • You'll need Prosthetic adhesive, final seal, and a white latex sponge torn into 2.

When you're done sculpting the gelatin, edges blended, and it is set and powdered (excess removed) apply a little of the prosthetic adhesive over it and feather the edges. When "clear", use another sponge to spread on final seal - same feathered edge. Repeat this process 3 more times. Powder when finished and continue on with the makeup.

  • WARNING: You'll now need Remove it All (100% isopropyl myristate) to remove the layers of prosthetic adhesive instead of warm water. Do not use 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove the leftover adhesive or else your skin will be raw 1-2 days afterwards and will peel.

Any makeup you put on your face will - especially if you are drinking any alcoholic beverages before the application and during. Certain medications that you take orally and topically may leech onto and remove the makeup as well.

  • Thanks so much for ou helP :)

  • You should add some music too.

  • Question is: would you even be able to hear me over it?

    For future ones, maybe.

  • Thanks so much!
