very nice flying {P-51 D Mustang} i have one of these very simular, as this is my first rc plane with landing gear my question to you is ,on landing once the front wheels have touched down & the rear just touches down would it be wise to give it a little up [stick] elevator to keep the nose from tipping over ?
As long as the CG is where it belongs and you're landing on asphalt or smoth dirt, you won't need to do anything except steer once all wheels touch the ground. You may notice that you'll be giving it some up elevator as it comes in to keep it diving but giving it too much up elevator can make it stall too high and crash. If landing on grass, holding enough up elevator to keep it level may be a good way to follow through once all wheels touch the ground to keep it from nosing over.
It's tough to take off on the grass or gravel with this one because it tends to want to nose over - it may be possible if the landing gear is bent / shifted forward slightly or if the CG is moved back.
rc simulators! my first plane was a twin ducted het f15. very very fast jet. it launched perfectly, and landed great! rc sims give you a great deal of skills!
Manufactuer says it's easy enough for a beginner but to be on the safe side, it's best to start with a trainer - even if this plane flies slow and has good torque from the 4 bladed propeller, it's still a low wing plane - high wing trainers usually correct themselves and allow the fuselage to hang under the wing if you just release the sticks - this one may have a tendency to roll.
ive got this one and it is a superb flyer. only had it in the air twice though but loved every minute of it. ill get a video next time n show you my moves!!
is this sold in the u.s.?

hi im in need of an electric plane to start off with and ive always had a thing for the p-51. would you recommend this for a starter plane?
forkme3 3 years ago
it's ok if someone is there to coach you through the first few flights with a buddy box system - I taught my nephew to fly on this one!

thecoddler 3 years ago
Hi! this plane is electric and uses a LiPo battery.
BARIQco 3 years ago
just bought this plane, just wondering how long it takes to charge the battery?
daveywaveydave 3 years ago
Hey - the LiPo's in our RTF kits take about 2 hours on average to charge
BARIQco 3 years ago
Err, more like 45 minutes
RCReview 3 years ago
on average: 2 hours... A light on the charger will either blink or turn off (depending of the included charger) to let you know it's charged
