Snipers actually serve something: when i'm sniping with a 12x i usually cover my teammates when they plant the bomb and try to headshot everybody that gets near it.

The one desert map.. i havent played this game in ages so im not gona remember exactly what everythings called but its where you start on defence in a little 'Town" and theres mountains on your right with a 'sniper tower" I shot from that tower all the way to the other teams spawn.. which if you know that map you'll know that thats a RETARDEDly long distance think it took 3 or 4 shots but i finally hit the guy with the M24

The desert level with the city-type thing and huge mountains [idr the name, not Atacama] is filled with easy 400m+ shots. Sit on the rocks behind where the attackers spawn (Rush) and have your friend run down by the MCOM stations and up on the mountain by said stations that everyone likes to spawn on.

I got a total of 1,430 Recon points in the span of one minute in this spot. One countersnipe, three engineers shooting at our tanks. I then got bored and whipped out a shotty. :D

I've gotten 300 some marksman points with the Type 88 "sniper" rifle which in real life is actually a battle rifle. Ever since then I see no point in using the bolt-action sniper rifles since you wont find your self killing enemies from super far ranges all the time and even then you only kill like 2 ppl in an entire game from super far distances.(Only other snipers standing still)

@ericunderscores The map you were playing on is the easiest map to get long range marksmen shots in. Arica Harbor (rush mode) is also a good long-distance sniping map, but there's less high-ground so you don't have as many players to shoot at.

For a suggestion, don't use the GOL, its probably the worst sniper for long range shots, as the reticule has nothing to gauge the range with, no mil dots, no chevrons, nothing. Use the M24 if you like Mil Dots, or the SV98 if you prefer the chevrons.

@PieMan424242 nope. You get a marksman headshot bonus when you hit the target from over 100 meters. In example, 29 marksman bonus means that the target was 129 meters away. But you can get a marksman headshot bonus way over 500, my best is about 650 (Yes I was camping in a bush) and my friends best is over 700. now THAT'S a lot
