First of all...there are way more Abrams tanks than T90 tanks in both armies arsenal. Basically USA has more elite units than Russia has. Secondly the Abrams is faster and fires better on the move than the T90. Last but not least,USA has way more modern combat experience than Russia!

The T-90's Maingun is also longer, at 6.678 meters in length compared to the 5.28 meters on the Abrams. The loading of the Abrams is unpredictable as it's loaded manually, compared to the 8 rpm on the T-90. The T-90 is a Gun-Missile Tank, it can fire both ATGMs and "regular" Tank ammunition.

I will concede that Russian APFSDS is inferior to American ones, however, the most modern one delivers 7 mj of energy, compared to the 12 mj delivered by the M829A3. @SilentEagles There is no shell in th Abrams that could penetrate Kontakt-5 armor. It has to be hit again and again to penetrate the turret. There is no kenetic weapon that penetrates Kontakt-5 or most othe reactive armors. One guided missile fromthe T-90 can take care of one Abrams though.

No it can`t. Not even a T80. Tanks employed by Iraqis were T54/55 and T62 (both dating in the 50s-60s) and they were much more reliable then M1 abrams which suffered hundreds of mobility kills. The very few "Elite" Iraqi T72M were already inferior to standard soviet T72A. I am not even mentioning T72B, T72B1 or T72BM`s. The last one beeing the basis for the T90 tank. T90`s are like 500% better than T72M in all aspects

Cause T55 is like 20-30 years older and the very few T72`s were downgraded export models, without ERA, ATGM capability, countermisues systems, and thermal cameras. the T72M`s gun has 1/2 of the range of a standard T72A and is armor is thinner than all other T72 models. Iraqis had poor tank training and almost no available modern tank round in service

Tech is great, but it comes down to training and tactics. Nazi Germany had the most advanced tanks in the world and were still beaten by superior training and tactics. So is it possible that a highly trained T90 crew could beat a poorly trained M1A1 crew...Sure. That's just logic. please remember the Iraqi T-72 did not have ERA explosive reactive armor,The T-90 has turret of the T-80 and body of T-72 it uses explosive Reactive armor and Russian and indian T-72 use ERA armour.T-90 is much more then just a Upgrade of T-72 escpecially the T-90M.Large amounts of airpower was used against the Iraqi army including superior intelligence from GPS satelites.The T-90 now has a gyro gun stabilizer to shoot while on the move which the T-72 did not T-90m now uses a 1250hp engine

@DudemanClide T-90 has better protection against sabot rounds. M1A2 has better protection against charged ammunition/heat rounds or rocket weaponry, one of the best in the world in fact. M829E4 isnt even developed yet, and they will be at it again, new armor-new round-new armor-new round etc. The problem with the Abrams (even though very good armor) is its height, easier target. And sadly its weaknesses, Iraqis usually throw molotov at the engine, and JP8 is highly flammable fuel,IED my ass.

And for @SilentEagles OH Im pretty sure that a T-90's/64's/72's/80's 125mm is stronger than a Abram's pitiful 120mm. And if your making a 120mm cannon do it right. At least make it rifled, or better caliber, even the T-84/Leopard 2/Ariete/Challenger/Chieftain(all 120mm) has better cannons than the M1's M256. 3BM48 T-90 round is much deadlier than those ammunition. The RELIKT armor was known to survive a direct hit from the M829A3.M829A3 isnt special, its just like a DM-53 round

@999cheetos999 MM has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the gun. The Abrams gun has almost twice the range of the T-90's 125mm. The M829A3 can destroy any tank armor in the world. The only advantage the T-90 has 45 miles of range. The Abrams has every other advantage.

Seeing that ISU-152's tore open Tiger tanks back in the day with its massive cannon/or even penetrate two of them in a line. Thats another problem, The T-90 can jam laser range finders and designators(so some long range weapons are screwed), and note that T-90 uses ATGM to take out far range targets, even helicopters in 6km and the new one 8km.thats twice/almost thrice abrams range

Continuation. The engine is also known to choke at times, because it was never planned for it to be in desert theatre. The engine was just a reply to their FAILURE of making the tank lighter. :l Not to mention that it needs 400+ minutes to maintain the damned thing. And it breaks its drivetrain just after 150 MILES (fail)

That's in open terrain though; the LeopardA2 was mostly built for the European battlefield and thus it would be quite deadly in urban conflicts and great for infantry support. T-90s, M1a2 Abrams and LeopardA2's are mostly suited for the differing tank doctrines they were built for.

It lost the last rounds of trail test too the improved Arjun this is runner a trail as in speed, harsh road conditions, Surviving the heat, shooting on the run and so on. not true fights yet the Russian would not sell them the best instead a export model, no sorta and they had too pull teeth too get the arena for some. the didn't get 1250hp engine as well. In real life the M1A2 SEP v 1/2 would destroyed the T-90 easily. The M1A2 SEP v 1/2 got better optical laser sights, powerful engines, better mm gun which is 120mm, stronger/faster firepower, firing faster, and armour than T-90. The T-90 only fire AT-8 and AT-11. Oh please the Abrams got better firepower than that like M829A2 and M829A3 which are Projectiles. The M829A2 could destroyed Kontakt-5 armour and M829a3 could destroyed Kaktus armour.

I find your statements flawed. In terms of Hp/tonne ratio, the T-90 beats the M1A2 Abrams. The T-90 has the "better mm gun"(whatever that means) at 125 diameter. The T-90's Maingun is also longer, at 6.678 meters in length compared to the 5.28 meters on the Abrams. The loading of the Abrams is unpredictable as it's loaded manually, compared to the 8 rpm on the T-90. The T-90 is a Gun-Missile Tank, it can fire both ATGMs and "regular" Tank ammunition.

@SilentEagles the t-90 has since had its armament improved. Its new reflex round has been tested with 750-950mm RHA penetration. However I still doubt either of these tanks could kill the other with one frontal hit regularly. The armour on both is superb. M1A2 armour's track record is world famous, But for the t-90, one in service in Chechnya was reported to have been hit by 7 anti-tank rpg impacts and remain intact. Whichever would win wont be proven until they're both outdated.

@SilentEagles There is no shell in th Abrams that could penetrate Kontakt-5 armor. It has to be hit again and again to penetrate the turret. There is no kenetic weapon that penetrates Kontakt-5 or most othe reactive armors. One guided missile fromthe T-90 can take care of one Abrams though.

T-90 is 1.2 million.

actually, russian tanks are fairly unreliable, they focused on mass production and fire power, US focused on reliability, speed and maneuverability, an M1A1 could easily take on a T-90 and destroy it in 1 shot or so, check out some battles between m1a1 and the russian tech in the gulf war, 9 m1a1 tanks 1nd 12 bradleys took out 28 russian tanks, 36 trucks and 20 Apcs... in 28 minutes... so check ur info before u lie.

No it can`t. Not even a T80. Tanks employed by Iraqis were T54/55 and T62 (both dating in the 50s-60s) and they were much more reliable then M1 abrams which suffered hundreds of mobility kills. The very few "Elite" Iraqi T72M were already inferior to standard soviet T72A. I am not even mentioning T72B, T72B1 or T72BM`s. The last one beeing the basis for the T90 tank. T90`s are like 500% better than T72M in all aspects

ok then if all you guys think the t-90 is better than the abrams then how come in the gulf war the iraqis were using russian built t-72's and t-54's and the abrams were easily able to destroy them and the t-72 and t-54 were never able to destroy the abrams or challenger and just to make anoth point the m2a2 bradly ifv destroyed more iraqi armour than the abrams did and on top of that the t-90 was made in 1993 so it hasnt been out long so it is still having improvments made to it

Cause T55 is like 20-30 years older and the very few T72`s were downgraded export models, without ERA, ATGM capability, countermisues systems, and thermal cameras. the T72M`s gun has 1/2 of the range of a standard T72A and is armor is thinner than all other T72 models. Iraqis had poor tank training and almost no available modern tank round in service
The M1`s side armor is pathetic by the way. Hundreds of Abrams suffered mobility kills in Iraq when hit by RPG`s
