Out of H&O's many wonderful songs, "So Close" has some of my favorite lyrics. "Dropped a coin in the jukebox / Not the phone on the wall"... "There's a restless look in your eyes tonight / Are you lookin' for some way out of here". Powerful. And both the acoustic and electric versions of this song are great.

i was the same until I saw this acoustic tour in 91? I've seen U2, Bowie, Gabriel and many others and H & O was the BEST concert....brought back so many memories and they put on an amazing show...never knew how powerful Darryl Hall's voice was until I actually heard him from off the stage overpowering the concert speakers!!!

I never appreciated Hall and Oates properly until I saw them do an extremely quiet version of this song on David Letterman in the early 90s. It was even more subdued than this one, perhaps entirely acoustic, and even Letterman was clearly moved by it. I wish someone would post that performance - it was exceptional.

Funny - I was supposed to see them live in Kitchener, Canada, at this tour, but never had the chance, until 15 years later. How worth it the wait surely was, however...What a story.
