Thanks for sharing Ralph. I had some friends who travelled on it on Thursday. On the return leg, it was running over an hour late! But they just got their connecting train in time to ge back to Chester.
@robmasterman Thanks Bob, the guy who you see just getting out of shot was new to steam on the main line and was asking if she would be travelling very fast, you should have seen the look of surprise when he was told probably around 75mph... Needless to say after she had passed he was suitably impressed..
@AndreiTupolev Thanks Andrei, however had Tornado been on time there would have been said Pendo in the way. Just a pity the long approach view got blocked by that engineering unit on the middle loop....
@ashbytimuk Actually they do, when a train approaches anyone working trackside, it has to whistle or hoot to warn of its approach, the waves are to indicate that you have heard the warning.
look at the height of that guys shorts!

Nice work Ralph. Sadly you can never rely on other photters getting out of the way -- they get carried away with the sight and sound of steam . Mike

Nice bit of film Ralph.
Has Tornados chime whistle broken? That was the original one.
Thanks for sharing.

@FernFilms Thanks, they have two whistles fitted, and seem to use either just to cause confusion..

Cracking shot. And for once a Pendolino didn't come zooming through in the other direction, which is what usually seems to happen at that station.
