  • This video is a prime example of the crappy 'cookie-cutter' stuff on every bow hunting show on every major outdoor channel. I wont take away from the buck or the woman that brought him down. The deer is likely liver hit the way he acted post shot. I didnt hear the hunter mention anything about it. And your cutaways...ugh. Sun on hunter, overcast on deer, sun on hunter, overcast deer. And the acting on the cutaways...not much better. 200"? Really? REALLY?

  • I know that was a tough decision that day, but it was a trophy of a lifetime. Chances are you won't inflict a solid bow kill shot from that distance in the wind with a deer in gait, and you end up wounding a buck that runs for days then dies somewhere taking away anyone's chances at ever harvesting this trophy. Fortunately, that didn't happen. Not sure what I would have under those same circumstances. Congrats, especially on your tracking ability!

  • Very impressive shot Melissa. Please don't listen to the jealous idiots making negative comments. I have been archery hunting all over the world for 35 years and I would've done the same decision. It's called practice and confidence in an open field shot. Even the wind can be taken in as a factor and still make a lethal shot. I was a sniper in the Army and I've taken 1/2 mile shots in a 25 mph wind and still hit the bulls eye. These idiots don't know what they are talking about. good job!!

  • Yeah! Awesome shot! Dropped within sight! I'm happy for you, Melissa! Yeah!!

  • @JDSawatzky Dropped within sight?!?.....they tracked it for miles.....Said so in the video.

  • Thats a beautiful deer, but an absolutely UNETHICAL shot. Walking deer, 60+yds and windy. You're lucky you even hit it. The narrator on the video said "coulda saved miles of tracking". You're lucky you found that deer. A nice trophy, but a terrible shot.

  • @epfd217 first off she's a professional hunter so she's not a shitty shot like you and take those kind of shots, second she has a bow that is shooting 330 fps on a 200 inch deer so don't act like you wouldn't have shot. don't sit there and act like she did a horrible thing. get a life dude. jealousy...

  • @ccroni36 Getting paid to hunt doesn't make you a great archer, and neither does using a top of the line bow. I'm glad she found the buck, but the shot was terrible. Call it as it is. Great Buck MB!

  • Its called good management. We've killed 200 inch deer on our place and have 160 inch deer all over. ITs called managing the herd correctly. Taking BAd genetic deer that will never become big deer that are breeding with does rather than the good genetic deer out the herd. CULL BUCKS!!! and Leaving 3 and 4 year olds be that will be great deer the following years. People are too trigger happy and they shoot 2 year old 8 points and wonder why they have no trophy deer but people who do are fenced

  • @alphaburner72 Yes this was a fair chase hunt, it's in west central Illinois. There are no high fence operations here, and you can hunt this property yourself if you'd like to book a hunt and see the exact field this was shot on. No fences, so please don't say I hunt fenced places as I work very hard for my animals. 46-days on stand I think qualifies as putting in my time.

  • @bowhuntermike1992 If you are truly a bowhunter you would know that these were not dogs, they are wild coyotes. Obviously it was a joke that I trained them. This is nature at work, wild coyotes will chase wild deer and try to kill them for food. This is part of the enjoyment of hunting...seeing nature at work. Please don't write nasty comments if you can't even tell the difference between a tame dog and a wild coyote.

  • @bowhuntermike1992 Listen Again,,,She said NO. She didn't train wild Coyotes you baboon

  • its funny that you think she has WILD coyotes trained to push deer to her like they are her own pets. completely stupid. i can assure everyone that this is not a high fence opperation since i have personally guided on this property myself. 100 % fair chase hunting. For everyone that thinks this has to be high fence you should learn how you can get giant deer on property by not shooting young deer and giving them year round nutrition on great properties. THIS IS WHAT GOOD OUTFITTERS PRODUCE

  • Im sorry, i know ill get a lot of dislikes but idc... ANYONE who uses dogs or other animals to push deer to you SHOULD NOT be hunting PERIOD.... there is no pride in that! HUNTING is where u put ur sweat and blood into it not just sitting waiting for your damn pets to push for you! if your going to be pushing have another HUNTER AS IN A HUMAN push!!!! if you use animals do us all a favor and die

  • I love the fact that you are hunting the way that I was taught. Go out, put in the work tracking and learning habits of the animal. Then go watch and wait til you get the shot. Here in NC where I live, all the hunters here use dogs to track the animals and then have the dogs push the animal to them while They sit in their trucks out of the elements and take one shot. IF the dogs dont do their job their killed or left to fend for themselves. I cant stand it the "hunters" around here at all

  • With the Mathews Passion!! YEAH MATHEWS!!

  • i love you melissa nice shot..

  • she is beatiful and hot

  • I agree...she is HOT! I would love to share a stand with her :p

  • y'all do realize that just because she's on a guided hunt doesn't mean it's fenced in right? okay thanks.

  • @guitardedwesmusic Correct TBH youy can be HIGHLY find for fencing wild game in

  • @bowhuntermike1992 Oh really? Sounds like this guy Youy should hide his fenced game low then. This would eliminate the possibility of someone "HIGHLY find"ing them. TBH... you're a dumbass, learn to spell. THEN you can give legal ethical advice.

  • nice shot melissa :)

  • where did you shoot it..it looked like you hit it in the leg or sumthin

  • Truthfully- I don't approve of High Fence hunting... But you made a heck of a great shot on that old boy... As an archer myself, I know how hard that was, in the wind, on an angle, with the buck moving...

    High Fence still isn't hunting...

  • I killed one smaller, but it was wild and not behind a fence.

  • i killed one bigger

  • God job! God sure did bless you with that one! Yet, it still took your shooting skills to close the deal. I was actually surprised you didn't try to stop him at that distance, but you obviously timed it just right. God bless.

  • do u have a sister named michell

  • Who's tiffany??

  • well this video made me want to watch tiffany. see ya

  • @auctionguyinmo My dick is well taken care of by my wife, and I'm certainly not stupid. Neither is Melissa. She's hunted all her life just like me and you. Sure, through education, perseverance, and good looks she is lucky enough to work in the hunting industry and gets opportunities to hunt with the Nation's best outfitters. I don't give two shits about paying for a buck, but I also don't hate on people who do. It's one of the few GROWING industries in America! Later, man.

  • So much easier when they're fenced in...

  • Bien piba!!! por fin mataste algo!!!

  • Real hunters don't use guides that go out and do all the 'hunting' for you ahead of time. Come on people, go out and hunt.......just go out and hunt!!

  • Comment removed

  • ok a) wheres the fences? or was this really fair chase? and b) on what scoring system does that even come close to 200?

  • @alphaburner72 You know it wasn't fair chase. Anyone with a brain knows it wasn't fair chase. That is the problem with these people. May as well chain the danged deer to a tree and shoot it.

  • @Joed195

    why?

  • Nice shot and great job!!

  • if you dont want to freez then dont wear a jacket ment for 60 to 70 degree weather in december

  • hmm, a difficult decision...push a shot in the wind at a range your not comfortable with, make a poor hit and track for miles?? This kind of video doesn't portray what bowhunting is really about. Disappointing.

  • Dang nice shot! And awesome buck!

  • @Antithropocentric Cry me a river after you're done hugging that tree...She's just as normal as the millions of other people enjoying the sport.

  • great shot, what a trophy

  • I personally know mike. i live a few miles away from siloam state park. my family has several acres of prime hunting and i am not an outfitter. i would love to meet you and take you hunting. what a dandy buck! congrads! we have a few different farms in brown county and i have been bow hunting since 1996 at the age of 12.

  • I did what I thought he was with my calculator and got 199. and thats almost always within 2 inches or so. So I would say yea its a 200 or 202 mybe!!!! Nice deer!!!!!!! Godsmack412 needs to learn to score a deer. Also remember she isn't in TX this deer will weigh 200lbs easy.

  • @melissabachman Typical or Non-Typical?

  • @melissabachman i admire your passion. i think you would be suprised how many women and young people you inspire. keep up the good work. oh, a really nice buck.

  • if u think she's hot thumbs up

  • what an awesome deer! congrats! unfortunately you had the worst cameraman in the history of cameraman filming/ruining the hunt for you. i would have kicked his butt out of that 25 ft stand. well you got your deer so great job on your part!

  • awesome deer gotta love Illinois its been cold lately and just got a snow storm here in northern illinois hope to get out and have some new footage possible a kill I need to upload some new videos soon!Livin the Dream Illinois style!

  • I would rather shoot it with my camera....

  • I agree with msoumeillan on this one, "I'm in love." Although I'd truly be in love if I knew she was a Christian. Of all the deer hunting videos I've ever seen this one is a true representation of a hunter with a passion. And it just so happens to be a woman. Melissa, I'm glad to see that there is a woman out there who can serve as a representation of those hunters out there that have a true passion for hunting. In your video, I can see that you have a great appreciation for the outdoors :)
