There is a tool for nocollide. This is independend of welding

coolant is a part of Lifesupport/Resource Distribution (they are addons, and you can get them on Facepunch or SVN). This map is sb_gooniverse. Hoverballs and Thrusters come with GMod. (Although there are improved version in the Wire Addon Pack, which I would recommended getting, simply because of a lot of stuff uses Wire)

You die if there is no air or if it is too hot. So you need an air and coolent supply to survive. And you need energy/electricity to run the life support equipment. It's pretty kewl.

and also it only works on online servers (i swear i was floating around in space no-clipping about on my own =3)if your ship is big enough you should shove fusion generators, coolant and air compressors in so you wont need that supply thing since your ship will serve itself and HELL YEAH ITS COOL

non-hover-balled ships can roll =D and do really awesome stuf which will leave the hover-balled death-star going wtf. with my ship idea i reckon you could stick some nukes on and woosh instant pwnage!!

I place a wheel at the bottom of my rocket. And place the thrusters on the wheel. It helps the thrusters evenly distribute it's thrust. And looks cool when you use smoke.

Even though I do notown garry's mod, or half-life 2 (not even the source), I do like watching these vids.

Your spaceship was nice, but it laked the proper design.Also, try to add a door, and some engines to slow the fall down, when you fall in the planet (that was a VERY rough landing!).

Anyway, nicely done! I couldnt have done better myself.

I really should have showed this in the video. But two side panels from each side move outwards with hydraulics. It does have doors. But I didn't use them at all even making the video. Plus they are useless when its standing up.
