These two things combined are wrong. The fire analogy is comparing apples and oranges. The fire transfers heat via conduction and convection, whereas the sun transfers heat via electromagnetic radiation. No law of physics being violated, but it's not because of Earth's atmosphere.

The magnetic fields reflects electromagnetic radiation away from the earth. Some gets through which is then absorbed by the atmosphere, such as UV-B, and some reaches earth's surface. If the em field was destroyed a lot more radiation would get through and life would disrupted, there really wouldn't be much we could do but go deep underground.

I've been following this for a few years and the prognosis isn't getting any better. I have a private well which is getting a hand pump put on it soon. I am getting an amish cooking stove for inside and outside as well as an amish hot water heater. My house THANKFULLY has aluminum siding on it and it will soon have aluminum hurricane shutters, then the house will be grounded. I am canning, stocking up and preparing. If it doesn't happen, no loss! If it does, BIG SAVE.

There are ramifications to this that most people don't even begin to think about. Radiation on your bone marrow! Milk/formula for babies! Major solar storm will be like H bombs hitting us over and over again. Even if you unplug your stuff it will still fry if there's a computer chip in it--NEVER to work again! The govt has HUGE bunkers that they will all be hiding out in until this thing passes. They don't care what happens to you and frankly they probably hope 1/2 of us will die or kill each other. Some shrug and think what's life without electricity for a few weeks? It will be longer than that but a few weeks will kill a large number of people. Everyone with medical support will die. The nuts won't be able to get their meds. No gas will pump. No water will pump. No trucks delivering food/water.

@ukno918 You are right, at 5:17 the narrator said that the sun seems to break the very laws of physics, then the guy tried to use the analogy of a fire and being very far from the fire being as hot as the fire itself. These two things combined are wrong. The fire analogy is comparing apples and oranges. The fire transfers heat via conduction and convection, whereas the sun transfers heat via electromagnetic radiation. No law of physics being violated, but it's not because of Earth's atmosphere.

If a really strong one hits the Earth and distorts or even breaks the Earth's magnetic fields, what will happen? What does the Earth's magnetic field actually do? @ukno918 I don't know what would happen if the Earth's magnetic field was distorted or broken up. It probably wouldn't be a good thing for life on Earth. The magnetic fields reflects electromagnetic radiation away from the earth. Some gets through which is then absorbed by the atmosphere, such as UV-B, and some reaches earth's surface. If the em field was destroyed a lot more radiation would get through and life would disrupted, there really wouldn't be much we could do but go deep underground.
