And second of all it was a short fight, so stop acting like this was Sonnen/Silva where it was a 23 minute asskicking until a fluke submission.

@decypher3 Meh, Big Nogs in Pride wasn't any stronger IMO, he actually had worse cardio, but he could take so much more abuse and really was able to come back more. Though, the level of BJJ in Pride compared to the UFC (Less in Pride) could be a contributing factor. I mean, he'd be fighting kickboxers who wouldn't know what an armbar was, it was easy pickings.
@TheShottyCutScene You're clearly new to this sport of MMA if you think UFC had the more legit heavyweight BJJ fighters, or even better HW fighters period, back when Nog was ruling in Pride. He fought guys like Werdum, Barnett twice, Fedor 2 and a half times, and the list goes on. As far as his cardio, it's always been excellent. I don't know where you get the idea his cardio was worse in Pride. Maybe fighting one 10 minute round followed by two 5 minute rounds with less rules is harder..

You'd be surprised how good some of the guys in the UFC are. Werdum is in the UFC, Mir is, Lesnar's been improving his BJJ, JDS is a black belt in BJJ. And there are SO many guys who are SO underrated but don't get the proper booking spots. I like Pride too! I really do. Though, Fedor is EXTREMELY overrated IMO. He's good just overrated.

Fedor is not overrated either, he has just had a string of bad luck. Nobody's perfect, but he's probably closest to it as anyone has come in the sport. Respect he earned can never be taken.

What he is lacking in the UFC is the ability to take beatings and recover quickly, and roids helps with that. He is also lacking in power (if he had more power he would have put Mir away).

BTW Nog was sick in their first fight, and when you consider how many fights that Nog has had and how many Mir has had, beating an old washed up Nog isn't really impressive.

@ufcpride93 you are correct, Minotauro is a better fighter, everyone gets caught. More miracles happen in this sport than any other. There's just too many factors in fighting to say any one fighter is the absolute best though. Whenever you think one is going to win the other knocks him out or submits him. This sport is always evolving, and will never stop. People forget Mir had 20 pounds on Nog also, which helped him secure that Kimura MUCH more easily once he had the position.

@Vinnymanvinny1 Quite a few, Matt Hughes fought until he had over 50 fights. Age is a huge factor and most fighters don't have 40 fights until they are 40 or so, so it's time to retire. Nog just had a lot fo fights early. And no, Nog did not dominate the fight until the end. He was thoroughly out grappled. And second of all it was a short fight, so stop acting like this was Sonnen/Silva where it was a 23 minute asskicking until a fluke submission.

Whereas Mir wasn't badly hurt at all. He went for a shot when a punch dazed him. He was NEVER close to being out and was in control the entire time. 9 times out of 10 Mir outgrapples Nog and snaps his arm, which is why it happened that way. Learn something about fighting, then come back and debate.

@decypher3 Meh, Big Nogs in Pride wasn't any stronger IMO, he actually had worse cardio, but he could take so much more abuse and really was able to come back more. Though, the level of BJJ in Pride compared to the UFC (Less in Pride) could be a contributing factor. I mean, he'd be fighting kickboxers who wouldn't know what an armbar was, it was easy pickings.

@TheShottyCutScene You're clearly new to this sport of MMA if you think UFC had the more legit heavyweight BJJ fighters, or even better HW fighters period, back when Nog was ruling in Pride. He fought guys like Werdum, Barnett twice, Fedor 2 and a half times, and the list goes on. As far as his cardio, it's always been excellent. I don't know where you get the idea his cardio was worse in Pride. Maybe fighting one 10 minute round followed by two 5 minute rounds with less rules is harder..

You'd be surprised how good some of the guys in the UFC are. Werdum is in the UFC, Mir is, Lesnar's been improving his BJJ, JDS is a black belt in BJJ. And there are SO many guys who are SO underrated but don't get the proper booking spots. I like Pride too! I really do. Though, Fedor is EXTREMELY overrated IMO. He's good just overrated.

I know countless guys who also train who know nothing about Pride or UFC fighters. and on that subject, we were discussing about the time back when Nogueira was still fighting for Pride.
Fedor is not overrated either, he has just had a string of bad luck. Nobody's perfect, but he's probably closest to it as anyone has come in the sport. Respect he earned can never be taken.

What he is lacking in the UFC is the ability to take beatings and recover quickly, and roids helps with that. He is also lacking in power (if he had more power he would have put Mir away).

@decypher3 Mir is NOT BETTER. Nog dominated the entire fight, until he decided to go for the sub. Mir capitlized on Nog's mistake. Nog's stupidity costed him that fight. If Nog would have hit Mir 2 to 3 times, that fight would have been called. BTW Nog was sick in their first fight, and when you consider how many fights that Nog has had and how many Mir has had, beating an old washed up Nog isn't really impressive.

@ufcpride93 you are correct, Minotauro is a better fighter, everyone gets caught. More miracles happen in this sport than any other. There's just too many factors in fighting to say any one fighter is the absolute best though. Whenever you think one is going to win the other knocks him out or submits him. This sport is always evolving, and will never stop. People forget Mir had 20 pounds on Nog also, which helped him secure that Kimura MUCH more easily once he had the position.
