  • Le morceau est génial, la voix coince un peu... Et là, ça ne pardonne pas : encore un super-groupe qui n'a jamais décollé.

  • Fantastic Band. Lots of good moments and memories. His first record is one of my favorites ever.

  • Ho in mano il loro album su cd con etichetta notyme-records, un regalo del mitico Nicola Compagnini!

  • Qué bien me lo pasaba con este disco, joderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Still remember when I heard Lie to me from a Milan radio station in 1980, I literally jumped out of my chair asking "what is this what is this it's fantastic!" :-)

  • This album's still part of my collection. Love the guitar on this one.

  • Great band and great song.

  • Great band and great song.

  • If you're Peter Parker, you might remember me. I gave you a toy that you squeeze, and the eyes pop out. I worked at Spencers, and you were playing the Marble Bar, so I grabbed an Obie doll off the shelf before I came down to the show. You stuck it on the top of your cymbal stand. I think you might have still had it with you the next time I saw you there.

  • AMAZING

  • Great song.

  • A very underrated pop trio.

  • I can't believe I found this on YouTube! This song, by this band was one of my biggest inspirations in music . . . PURE RAW three piece playing from the heart! No overdubbed, multi-layered guitars; no crazy guitar effects . . . a bit of chorus and echo, and awesome vocals!! This was Green Day in the 80's, and should have fricken made it big!!! You guys rocked!! I still have this record! Great stuff guys!

  • well..well..well....if you think this band doesn't have the shit, you should die...one of the best songs EVER written.....still makes me smile !!!!

  • fantastici , quanto ricordi della catania anni 80

grazie per avermi fatto rivivere quei momenti

  • i am from staten island, and years ago there was a cover band called ''Buster'' who covered ''Let Go''......awesome band....

  • I saw them every time they played Detroit. They Ripped up Bookies Club 870. you were hugh in Detroit. I play a Gretsch because of Dirty Looks.

  • che belli era la fine dei '70, primi '80

i primi dischi lp comprati risparmiando, suonati sul primo stereo comprato co sacrificio, e nessuno conosceva i dirty looks.

li trovo semplicemente fantastici. chitarra basso e batteria.

  • Hi Marco !!

    Whats up ,

    where are are You ?

    Silvano

    Its still a good record,

I still have one at home

    Silvano

  • Better then the Knack, great album through and through!

  • A terrific band. When was 15 I borrowed the Stiff records box set from my library (support your libraries people) and heard "Let Go" and embarked on a hunt to find the album. I finally did about 5 years later for a dollar (a steal). I've gotta get this one. A criminally underrated band that should have been huge. I've spread their music to almost all my friends.

  • This holds up all these years later.....Great!

  • When you like this recording, try to find "Lie To Me" and "Disappearing". Those two songs are the best Dirty Looks (original ones) you coud hear, to me.

  • bad ass song!! several cover bands in omaha nebraska have been doing it for 20+ years!! no one knew who it was for a long time!

  • Hey Cromeboy! Isn't this dawnting? I just found out about this and by accident on Friday, putting my program together on Stiff Records. This is just such a great piece of pop and nobody ever recognized. There is so much versatilaty out there but people want their Tina Turner, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson mass appeal stuff instead. People, exercise your ears!

  • I can't believe this is posted. I say them some 30 years ago....played the album for my nephews. Just friggin fun.

Great songs. I love youtube. thanks for posting.

  • One of the most underated bands ever.

    Great music videos and CD.

    The masterpiece from Staten Island.

  • adrenalina!

  • Damn this song is good. It's just friggin amazing. Its got a live great feel like run around sue, but power pop-punk 80's. GREAT

  • almost thirty yeas later they still sound great.

  • Damn ... did Patrick Barnes just fall out of the sky or something? He was so much better than all of the other guitarists of that era...

  • Thank you guys for your contribution, your information is very important for me.

I hope will release "Unsung Heros" and some live session as soon as possible.

    Thanks!!!

  • @dirtylooks1980 YOU GUYS ROCK, I JUST PULLED UP MUSIC I HAVE NOT LISTENED TO SINCE THE 80S. ITS STILL AWSOME I,M GLAD I FOUD IT. TIM. bubbajam.com

  • I saw this band on the "Son of Stiffs" Tour. Loved them ever since.

  • Dirty Looks ROCKS!!!!

  • sembra che ce ne sia qualcuno in giro ma troppo difficile da reperire! bellissimi i pezzi da te postati! tutte le canzoni dei Dirty Looks x me sono opere d'arte! Grazie del contributo!

  • @dirtylooks1980 Posso darti il live @My father's place...

  • My band used to cover this tune in the 80s and it ALWAYS rocked the house.... very cool tune

  • always liked this album, saw them in Mt Vernon NY

  • I was looking for Dirty Looks videos but unfortunately, don't exist...what a pity!

    Thanks for your post contribution!

  • Actually, 4 videos DID exist: "Love Crimes" (shot on the S.I. ferry), "Lie To Me", "Let Go" and then a "concept" video for "Tailin' You". Since they were all Stiff U.K., it would be nearly impossible to obtain, but good luck to anyone who can!

  • I saw the first three of these videos on a show called "Rockworld" broacast on a UHF channel in Philadelphia. I hope the videos turn up; it would be alot of fun to see them again :)

  • You are completely correct--it was the same place I saw them, except it was on Channel 5 in New York on a Friday night when the show featured specific labels--Stiff, I.R.S., etc.

I had the pleasure of knowing Marco Sin, God rest his soul--he was a hero of ours (and later a friend of mine) and we recorded (but never released) a great version of "Rosario's Ashes" at his egging us on (obviously we were from Staten Island).

Good to know there are still fans of this great band out there.

  • Yup ... it was the videos for "Let Go", "Lie to Me", and "Love Crimes". A few months later, I was lucky enough to find the Dirty Looks self-titled cassette at some chain shop ... then I found the vinyl at 3rd Street Jazz. What a great band...

  • THERE IS A VIDEO THAT WAS MADE FOR LET GO THERE PLAYING ON THE BACK OF A PICK UP TRUCK MY SAW IT ON A SHOW CALLED ROCK WORLD IN THE EARLY EIGHTIES

  • I just found a Dirty Looks album on iTunes. It's under the Stiff Label. Wow, I forgot how great these guys were. Todthemod, I remember playing all of these songs with you in the the basement. It brings back memories like you couldn't believe! See you soon

cpg. PS..I still think we nailed Dissappearing

  • Todthemod69 says my band Smart Remarks from Jersey opened for these guys at City Gardens in Trenton. We also covered the song "Disapearing" on our E.P.1983 to be exact! One of the greatest bands ever!Hope someone has more stuff on them!

  • 13th Street Entertainment out of N.Y.C. is trying to release "Unsung Heros", the third Dirty Looks album, which would have come out on Island.

I have a live tape of Dirty Looks in 1980 that I will be more than happy to give to

    13th Street Entertainment for release.

  • Todthemod says"I'd love to hear that "Live" show you've got, Dirty Looks were a big influence on me!Got really friendly with Peter Parker from the band.Just picked up the new Stiff release.Brings back "Great" memories!!

  • They were a great influence on us as well, since they were locals.

Marco was one of the nicest people I've ever met--he was a bigger star as far as we were concerned than any of the other bands we played with later on or that I met in my years at record labels.

I'll try to convert the live stuff to mp.3 as soon as some time frees up.

  • very beautiful song!!!

  • Thanks...Dirty Looks is absolutely my favourite band and this one is my favourite song.

  • absolutely right! When I heard for the first time "Lie to me", in 1980, I hurried to buy this album. This is the best band ever. No doubt. There was a video about Lie to me: I remeber that Dirty Looks were singing on a boat sailing the Thames in London. I hope that someone could post it.

  • It was actually the Staten Island Ferry, where the band came from.

  • Oh and there was a video for "Love Crimes" also shot on the ferry. The video for "Let Go" was shot on Wall Street in New York.

"Tailin' You" was a proper "concept" video.

  • love this record thanks for the post
