  • i love how gene pretends to have to recall vinnie's name from his mind for a split second, ha

  • How is it that a video about Ace becomes a forum for Eddie Van Halen haters?

  • I truely believe that Ace looked at being in the band, like most young ppl would going to a party. He just wanted to have fun. And he needed a parent figure constantly to keep him on track.Eventually it became too much for the band...and yes, Gene made the right choice by sending the lad on his way...IMO.

  • @Wayneman117 Ace wasn't kicked out the first time he left KISS. He sat down with Paul Stanley and told him he was leaving. Paul begged him to stay but Ace said he had to do it for himself as he was having anxiety issues, which were probably sparked from the time he go electrocuted on stage. Paul Stanley explains this in a writing he did in KISSOLOGY.

  • IMMORTAL

  • The lead guitar of kiss has the good ace too!

  • A a total non-Kiss, non-metal fan who gre up in the 70s, and a medicore but longtime guitar player, I've been blown away by Ace's playing from seeing old live KISS videos on here. Early on--75-ish--he was doing stuff that was at the cutting edge, pre-fame Van Halenish stuff, with substance. Incredible stuff. What I know about Vinnie is that he seems like a generic speed metal player, playing the kind of souless, detached-from-the-underlying-music solos that Van Halen did and many copied.

  • @jackstpaul don't ever downtalk metal man

  • @laiholapso Oooh. I downtalked speed metal guitarists plays who play generic, soulless Van Halen-style licks devoid of musical substance. If you're into that, that's your problem, but that's not how the great metal guitarists play.

  • @jackstpaul so let me get this right you downtalk soulness players in any genre,

wel then i share your opinion. but i didn't think vinni was soulless

  • ace was great and the best,,,,love shock me..

  • Goodbye Ace. Goodbye KISS!!!

  • paul and gene are full of shit about Ace this he stopped growing is bs Ace is successful on his own and has been selling records that frankly better than any thing Kiss has since Ace left them in the dust . Ace quit kiss cuz he didnt like the Elder album wich was shity record at that point Kiss was at there lowest . Im 47 years old ive been a fan over 30 years .

  • "His guitar playing didn't grow . It didn't blossom blossom" - Paul Stanley on Ace Frehley .

My question to you Paul is this :

Did Kiss grow ? Did Kiss blossom?

Kiss is to music as AIDS is to humanity. And you can quote me.

The best thing that ever happened to Peter Chriss and Ace Frehley is their being kicked out of Kiss. It gave them a little bit of credibility from their separation from those two douchebags

  • @mlmr11 Yes, and they have done so well since. Which club is Ace selling out these days? Is Peter even employed?

  • 'He stopped growing'.

Paul, you hypocrite...Ace was the heart and soul of this band.

  • @MrOboema heart and soul??? lol u make me laugh!! Paul is and will always be the heart n soul! this whole ace and peter thing shits me.

  • That was just wrong, when Ace cut his hair down then.

  • i my sroy ass

  • (CRIES) I WISH ACE WAS STILL WITH KISS (CRIES SOME MORE) ITS SOOOOOO UNFAIR!!! HE WAS BEAST!!! VINNIE PLAYS GOOD BUT HES NO ACE FREHLEY!!!

  • KISS did'nt get better after Ace left if anything they got worse. For example which Kiss songs are the most memorable the ones with Ace or the ones without. So when you say grow you mean suck I have to agree.

  • Vinnie Vincent is a poor randy rhoads imitator with make up

  • @CoopShaa I head in the middle of the summer that Vinnie Vincent was arrested for beating up his wife. The funny thing is that he lives here in Tennessee not too far from were I live. I would have never expected a somewhat famous rock guitarist to move here. Yes, you are right he is a poor imitator of Randy.

  • Does anyone know what the song is that Vinnie Vincent is soloing on? I don't know much KISS from his era but that song, or at least his solo, sounds fantastic.

  • @gajaga789 Calling Dr Love

  • @Polychrome1201 Thanks a ton! Amazing version from Brazil. Just looked it up. Thanks again for the help!

  • I hate KISS and god knows why I watched this tatty glam-rock rubbish.

  • What year were those opening scenes filmed? Ace's hair was all hacked off.

  • @ma7799 1982

  • VINNIE VINCENT CUSANO 4EVER !!! HE´S A HEAVY METAL KISS MEMBER.

  • it seems Gene fails to understand that a lot of gifted musicians happen to have a substance issue, and another shitty thing is, more times often than not, the really good ones are always addicted to hard drugs or are out of control with their habits whatever they might be. there is a price for so much talent and creativity, and if they weren't such tortured people, they wouldn't be so damn good. not saying you have to be a user to be good, but it happens more often than not.

  • vinnie was a fag

  • I love every member of my KISS family. Ace is my favorite guitarist for the band, I really love Vinnie's image, Bruce Kulick rates second best to Ace, Mark St. John was a nice guy who unfortunately wasn't able to play anymore, and Tommy is a nice guy who seems to work well with the way KISS is now. But if it was my way, Ace would be back.

  • Vinny Vincent never, legally, signed on with KISS, so he was never considered a true member, or an original.

  • i hate when they down talk ACE yes he had a drug problem but HE is still the best guitarest that ever was in kiss

  • @Rocky54167 Bruce was arguably better.

  • @9tome6 Bruce was a great guitarest you can't deny that the second best in the band, but it was ace who fit kiss much better during the makeup era and bruce during the "Hair" metal era

  • @Rocky54167

and he doesnt have a drug problem anymore

  • @Rocky54167 I love KISS and love Gene and Paul but HATE the way they talk about Peter and Ace esp Ace. They're typical narcissists. It's ALL about them looking good even at the expense of others. The funny thing Ace was and still is a better musician than either Gene or Paul. Esp now with him being sober for a number of years.............

  • @233kid2 that is the truth, i saw ace for free this summer and i can tell you that was better than kiss when i saw them back in 2010 that says something. While he may not be the best guitarest he was defenatly the best one in kiss and one of my all time favorites

  • @233kid2 Ace still isn't sober. Like most alcoolics and adicts, they like to SAY they are sober, but in reality many are not.

  • @Mozart1220 didn't know that Ace "went back out there". When I saw him in 2008 he was sober and sounded and looked great. Better than I'd ever seen him over a 30 plus year period. Hopefully, he gets sober again.................

  • @Rocky54167 Not only do I agree with you, but I disagree with Stanley and think that his playing and song writing evolved more than any other member of the band, despite his substance abuse problems. That says a lot.

  • @Rocky54167 Bruce Kulick was the best guitarist ever to play in KISS. I would rank Mark St. John second, then Vinnie, followed by Ace, then Tommy Thayer.

  • @shanner23 bruce kulick was good for the hair metal era of kiss, but i think he gets way to much credit if you as me

  • @shanner23 Yes, Tommy Thayer is complete crap, but Ace is a lot better than any of the other guitarists KISS has ever had.

  • this guy doesnt compare to ace, gene and paul ruined the band, if ace and peter had drug problems they should have helped rather then turn their backs to family.

  • At the turn of the 80's modern metal guitar took the speed and technique to higher places than ever done prior in hard rock. Paul and Gene felt that Ace's old school style was unable to compete with the Van Halen/Shenker/Rhoads era and style of play. That's where Vinnie came in, he filled that void with a modern style of play than Ace's. However, as time has passed Ace's ols school style transcends musical trends. It's more refreshing to hear today than the 80's stuff.

  • Vinnie was the second best guitarist that KISS had, behind only Ace. But Here's how i rank all the Lead Guitarists that KISS had

    1. Ace Frehley

    2. Vinnie Vincent

    3. Bruce Kulick

    4. Tommy Thayer

    5. Mark St John

  • Long Live Ace

  • Ace's f--kups a part of his image. Question. How do you think Ace feels about his f--kups? I love Ace and he will be engraved in my memory and childhood. But for F--K sakes people stop trying to downplay the fact that Ace has some things he needed to overcome and simply couldnt cut the mustard anymore. That sucks hard, but bashing the other members because they expected more is retarded and has nothing to do with how good you think Ace was but everything to do with YOUR OWN FEELINGS.

  • @SCORNDOGGMELACH He couldn't cut Paul and Gene's mustard because they held the Kiss power and ran the show. Ace went his own way and cut his own mustard. Anyway this is all just a matter of opinion and there's no need to get so fired up with the insults and what not. Also I'm not downplaying anything...I know Ace with the drugs etc. was too difficult to remain in Kiss. I was just saying Paul didn't need to talk about Ace's playing at all. Drugs/alcohol were Ace's problem.

  • Ace was the REAL musician in the band.....he was a HUGE part of the original KISS magic....Paul and Gene try to minimize his impact.

Paul and Gene a businessmen....Ace is a musician.

    THAT'S IT!

  • @mpraymond pains me to admit it but this is sorta true

  • @mpraymond Yah, thats it alright, unfortunetly members of Kiss were expected to be more. ALL That. Musicians, competant, reliable, in tune, energetic, professional,, business oriented, dedicated to giving thier live audience 100 percent and have the ability to see past thier own noses. Musicianship? Do you think Aces example after example of mistakes was ever part of the old Ace's image that we all wish was present. Not on your life. This sick generation even goes as far as to make (contabove)

  • Bruce,Vinnie and so forth were good I didn't mind them but they didn't have Ace's natural charisma and personality Ace was naturally cool unlike the other 2. Vinnie tried way too hard to be cool and Bruce was boring, good guitar player but very boring. Peter was replaced by an awesome drummer with a good personality but Ace was never able to be replaced by anyone who was appealing to the crowd .

  • How could he blossom any more. He's Ace Frehley. You don't get any better. As for Paul i never really noticed that he advanced any more either.

  • Ace is Kiss..And without him I'll stay home.

  • This is off topic a bit, but I read a Kiss biography, and the guy that sounds really bitter is Bob Kulick, during his interviews he used every opportunity to bash Ace's playing....Bruce, you ain't as good as Ace, 95% of all the world agrees

  • i hate vinnies make up

  • I have often wondered what Gene meant when he described Vinnie Vincent as "the most self destructive person" he's ever met...in what ways was he self destructive? Was it that he was very unprofessional and ungrateful in how he regarded his position with them? Did he take it for granted? Did he not like the monetary business arrangement? Was he disloyal? Or, was Gene implying he was self destructive with substances? Or was it something else altogether? Anyone know??

  • @thegroupharmonyalley I read in a kiss book (dont rember the name) that Vinnie kept taking about getting a bigger share of the money and stuff. Like right from the start, when he joined. Damn, dont rember the name of the book but im sure Gene said it

  • Mh, Paul. If Ace didn't blossom over a period of time.., let me tell ya..., you turned into trash over the last 25 years.Do you realize you've been doing shit after .., lets say, Lick it up ?? and that's just because Vincent was still there.

Kiss stopped being kiss without him. He was my hero when I was 7 and he still is.

  • I think all the musicians that have played with kiss have been great, but Ace is the one I always enjoy hearing, i love his solos, specially on songs like god of thunder, x -ray eyes, charisma, man, i could go on and on. pretty much on everything he's done. i think kiss made a mistake trying to fit into the change of music when they should have just stuck with what they were, and that was KISS! Love ya Ace!

  • How can Paul Stanley ( who is a "standard" guitar player ) judge Ace ? C'mon Paul, flip the little lever on your ax and try to play Ace's solo on " Let me Go Rock and Roll "

  • ace got fired cause you pussies don't drink...bottom line

  • i honestly dont like vinnie's make up

  • Ah I hate when Members of my favorite bands fight with each! Vinnie Plays a mean guitar Would have been interesting if having him in the band would have worked out I kinda like his Makeup!

  • ...Kiss. The biggest fooking joke band ever!! They were more interested in the commercial side of the band and revenue streams!! Kiss couldn`t write a decent song for toffee!! The bastards even wrote a disco song in the late 70s hoping to cash in on that genre!! ...just after releasing fuckin dolls of themselves!! I hate Kiss with a a passion, Kiss are one of those bands that fleeced their fans for every penny they could get!! Kiss was always about money, not music.Kiss disgust me! Wankers!

  • @coltsuperocean10 or your just jealous cause your one of those justin bieber loving faggots and you know kiss is 105x better than all your blink 182, hannah montanna crap

  • @froggerhater who the fuck is justin bieber??

  • @EpicHeavyMetalRoadie I have to disagree with you when it comes to Paul, every decade it got better and better, the 80's was better than his singing in the 70's and then in the 90's especially during the reunion tour it was fantastic. Up until 2008 his voice was incredible, lately however due to age and excessive touring, his voice is starting to get gravly.

  • Vincent sucked

  • well..can anyone tell what paul told at the part that mentioned jimmy page..it's not so clear to me..:/

  • @GouziLAnd

"He had a Jimmy Page's kind of quality"

  • @EpicHeavyMetalRoadie Clean your ears, Paul sings better now then when he sang in the 70's . I agree w/ you on Gene's playing though !

  • What documentary is this from?

  • Ace is Kiss!

  • gene and paul made 90% of all the reunion money! ACE AND PETER split the remaining 10%. FACT. ace and peter were making about ten grand for every sold out show! sure they made a few bucks! I wont see the new thayer kiss. they should take off the make up again and do an 80's thing with all the bands that opened for them in a festival type enviroment.

  • In fairness to Paul, by the time Ace left Kiss he was a mess. Blossom would never be a word used to describe his playing by 1982, a period where cutting edge lead guitar playing had become a mainstay of 80's hard rock and metal, Ace's style was too 70's and minimalistic to compete with Van Halen and Rhoads era schools of guitar playing. Kiss needed a guitarist willing to keep up with the times and Ace wasn't that kind of player, so Paul and Gene knew they needed someone more "current" on lead.

  • Vinnie is and was great - he could have given so much more to KISS

  • Paul's totally great but he'd be even greater if he would have refrained from down talking Ace about his playing etc. Hey Paul, Ace was as major a part of THE LEGENDARY ORIGINAL KISS as you were. And as far as the four solo albums go...Ace ruled!

  • @MacAggy he had a point though - after "Alive", Ace's playing didn't grow within the band, until his solo album, which is the best of the four and then after that, it really went downhill

  • @TheBass2themax What do you mean by 'grow'? Do you mean getting faster and able to squeeze more notes into a measure in a more complex way(like most people think: 'more is better') or do you mean being creative and being able to consistently play something that sounds great for the song no matter how simple or how complicated? Because all I see Kulick and the rest doing after they joined Kiss was being faster and more complicated but not necessarily more interesting than Ace. Just my opinion.

  • @MacAggy I mean nothing he played after Alive was as interesting up to his solo record. On his solo record he sounds just as pissed and passionate and inspired as he did on Alive - everything between Alive and his solo record just sounds like Ace copping Ace.

  • @MacAggy i also think that kulick is as boring as whale shit. Vinne was an asskicker though - check out Calling Dr. Love in Brazil 1983 (I think) - Vinnie's solo is outrageous and I don't really like shredders, but man he was a bamf.

  • @TheBass2themax I checked out the Vinnie solo from Brazil...Excellent!

  • @MacAggy cool!

  • @MacAggy Kulick was better becaue not only is he a much better musician, but he SHOWED UP FOR WORK. Ace decided partying was more important than the band.

  • @MacAggy Maybe you should listen closer to Pauls words as he made the effort to choose them very carefully. He said Ace was very good and was a very important part of the band. When is this bullshit going to end. As far as Im concerned there will never be another Ace Frehley and he can never be replaced but he never achieved the level he could have, was self destructive and was a threat to the performance of the band.Get fucking real. This isnt about some fans sentamentality its about strike 1-2-3

  • @SCORNDOGGMELACH I respect your opinion but what do you mean by 'never achieved the level he could have'? Being able to squeeze 40 notes into a measure instead of 30? Becoming your run of the mill over-playing speed demon guitarist? Another Eddie Van Halen clone? He already made up some of the coolest most creative guitar solos I've ever heard. And as far as strike 1-2-3...that never happened in my book...Ace hit a grand slam...in Kiss or out of Kiss. I enjoy his solo stuff as much as I do Kiss.

  • @MacAggy

I agree that Ace was/is great (I also feel the same way about Peter), but Paul is telling the truth: Ace wasn't getting better. Ace basically admitted it when he said that had he known that so many people looked up to him, he would have practiced more. Again, I love Ace. I think that his songs were some of the best of early KISS, but he didn't try hard enough. Ace is too good for mediocre.

  • @abaddon5 I didn't know that Ace said that. Thanks for providing the information! And thanks for providing it without getting all nasty and belittling about it. I will follow your example.

  • @MacAggy

Why would I get nasty about it? It's not like you were being a prick about anything! By the way, you're 100% about Ace's solo record. Not only was his the best of the four, but it was all around awesome.

  • @abaddon5 I just meant that your decent polite response was refreshing...a lot of people start getting ugly as soon as they don't agree with someone elses opinion or comment. They call people dumb f---ks etc. I was so tired of the nasty people on here that I almost got to the point where I wasn't even gonna leave any more comments or responses. I think Ace's latest solo album is good too.

  • @MacAggy

I guess it's because so many KISS fans are so passionate about who/what they like. I can understand someone getting mad at someone for disrespecting a member of their favorite band.

  • @abaddon5 Cool. Your channel is interesting.

  • ACE so cool ;)!!!!!!!!!!hes 60 this week Happy Birthday!

  • ACE so cool ;)!!!!!!!!!!

  • I liked Peter and Ace, but lets face it: All they had to do was shut up and play..Especially the second time around..Gene may be a dick, but they would have made millions(again). They just couldnt do it..Dont feel one bit sorry for them

  • @billyfan8305 I don't believe there was any bad blood among Ace, Gene, and Paul the last go around. Ace simply left after the Farewell Tour when his contract was up to concentrate on his solo career again. Also read that he had no interest in doing the same tour over and over again.

  • How can anyone blossom when assholes decide to put out a quasi musical wannabe album called The Elder

  • @Daskeladden1 Music from the Elder RULES!!!!!

  • @Daskeladden1

And Dynasty & Unmasked. Love Gun was the last great album they recorded.

  • @clayp72: Creatures of the Night and Revenge say hi.

  • @InTheEmbers

I was speaking about the original lineup.

  • @InTheEmbers And for the record ( no pun intended) I LOOOOOVE Creatures & Revenge. Carnival of Souls is kick ass too. I had a bootleg copy and wore it out before they finally released it.

  • @Daskeladden1 I was just going to mention this. Ace couldn't grow or mature in KISS because Paul and Gene took over everything. The songs had to fit their specs, they went fucking Disco, etc. Gene was too into the Hollywood "look at me" scene and Paul was just too worried about his chest hair. They drove Ace and Peter to drink and drugs and eventually forced them out as a power play because they were more popular (at least in Ace's case).

  • Whats this from?

  • i don't like the period when kiss were unmasked.i love ace and peter and i hope they will be reunited again!!!

  • Comment removed

  • how could ya not be self destructive if you had to dress up like a cat or a bunny , whatever the fuck they are

  • @mrjonz roflmao... loved that comment

  • What song is it on this video when Vinnie plays?

  • @KrickeDaxVax Dr. Love

  • 10 people r gay

  • why did paul and gene cal ace a nazi lover when he left did he have something with nazi's?

  • to compare Ace Frehley to Jummy Page is over ambitious to put it mildly

  • tthe guitar that vinnie is playing at the end was randy rhoads next jackson that he would of recieved.

  • @88mpny He never called him that, quit lieing.

  • @vfgjhj Uh...there's a clip of it on youtube. Might wanna have a look.

  • @DirtyEdgar42 He never calls him one in the actual video, the user that posted the vid did.

  • Why is everyone hating on each member. Of course Paul and Gene out talking shit but I do not understand why put people hate vinnie and some hate ace. They both rocked and the band still made good music during any stage INCLUDING DYNASTY, UNMASKED AND MOST DEFINITELY THE ELDER!!!!!! now put that in your pipes and smoke it because case fucking closed

  • Ace stopped blossoming when Kiss started to play disco music. When Peter left the band Ace´s days was downcounted. Ace is a hardrock/heavy metal guy. Today... what do the fans wanna see ? A Kiss without Ace & Peter or the real thing? Ace has an illness it is called alcoholism it is an illness just like canser or whatever. The cure is mostly more social than mediacal.

  • Where is this clip from?

  • @Mikeraske It's from a video called "KISS: Extreme Closeup". It was made around the time "Revenge" came out (1992)

  • @snowcats95 Thanks! I remember watching this when i was a kid with my dad but wasn't sure of the name.

  • Vinnie Vincent seemed so vibrant in that clip and offered something fresh for the group from the otherwise same boring routine that Ace Frehley used in live concerts..I noticed just how much they can charge for tickets now what with the meet /greet package they must be making more money than ever now doing live shows. Kiss are doing it for the fans? That is so laughable and that must be the most retarded statement their followers ever concocted.

  • Sigh... continually replacing band members like it's a factory pretty much destroys any credibility a band has... although I suppose a band that dresses up like assholes and spits blood doesn't have a whole lot of credibility to begin with. It's not like we're talking about the Beatles...

  • ok, Pauls on the right track, but he could at least say that Ace was GREAT and AWSUM. not just good. good is a weak word when u describe Ace.

  • @thrasher90 its calling dr. love but live version.

  • What's that song being played at the end?

  • @thrasher90

Dr. love . Little hard to tell by Vinnie's solo.

  • Ace didn't 'stop growing' Paul, his style was already set w/ late '60s influences-on the same logic you & Gene stopped growing as well- plus you didn't mind calling him back for the 1996/99 tours did you?

  • Paul Stanley said, Vinnie Vincent was a problem right when he joined the band, but the are a lot of things that they never revealled about him...

  • what happened to vinnie?

  • @syntasticfan he got fired a long time ago

  • @hyena419 why?

  • @syntasticfan he sold a fan a guitat once, one that never ever played and said it was his favorite guitar and he just gave him regular old guitar not even signed by him and was worthless. bullshit huh?

  • @hyena419 he was a lair

  • @hyena419 Isn't a lair a fortress where the bad guys hang out? : D

  • @hyena419 what a cheap ass!!

  • @syntasticfan he was a good guitar player though but he was such a smartass

  • @hyena419 and how do you know that?

  • @jline623 lokk up why KISS fired vinnie vincent

  • @hyena419 I used to like kiss but as time went on I saw how fake these guys are. How corporate and greedy they are as well. They disgust me now especially gene!

  • @hyena419 ace left

  • @JohnyStroyer thanks

  • wats the name of the song in the beggining

  • kiss isnt kiss without ace and peter

  • @TheDrew109 True that. :-)

  • I get sick and tired when all I want to do is watch a Kiss video and everybody is still bitching about Ace and Peter. Get over it, rch9000 - Paul Stanley isnt the lead guitarist, Ace is. Ace cant play very well now, Ive been to his solo shows and he makes mistakes all the time and very noticable ones. I agree Tommy and Eric should have there own makeup but GET OVER IT, people have been bitching about this for nearly a god damn decade. Why are people so pissed about this, dont like it,dont watch.

  • Gene simmons is awful..

  • @Frequent2001 Why?

  • Vinne kinda sounds like Angus young that solo at 1:21 kinda sounds like Whole lotta rosie.

  • What documentary is this?

  • Ace quit "growing" in KISS when Gene and Paul decided to try and push him in musical and artistic directions he didn't want to go. They're both control freaks with ZERO music and artistic integrity.

Paul hasn't grown/blossomed, but he's so full of crap he can't see it. His writing has never changed and his playing never got better than it was since the first 3 albums. The only thing that "changed" was his guitar tone, and since '79, that just got worse.

  • @thedeepfriedcandy, agreed. Neither Gene and Paul have room to talk. Paul criticizing Ace's lack of growth is ridiculous. He doesn't have one tenth of Ace's talent on guitar. Ace wasn't just an important member of the band, he was THE most important membe. Ace was the only reason that KISS rocked and he was smart enough to quit when Gene/Paul took the band in a lame direction with "The Elder." And the band got even lamer in the ensuing years without Ace.

  • i think if you dont have the original members you should remove the makeup, bring back the Revenge look it was badass, Eric and Tommy would fit perfectly there. Keep the pyro and everything else though.

  • I love Ace. He was always my favourite member. I think it is weird thinking of some of the names I have heard that auditioned for KISS after Ace left. If you believe Gene Eddie Van Halen wanted to join. I have also heard that some NOW famous names tried out. Slash, & Richie Sambora being two that come to mind. Now this isn't knockning Vinne cuz he is a sick guitarist, but I think he doesn't fit the band. In a What if scenario...What if Steve Stevens joined back in 82? A NYC guy. Can play & write

  • kiss without ace sucked

  • Here's what I dont get, Ace was obviously on the cover of Creatures and did two videos for it but at the same time it was all too obvious he didn't play on that album.First time I plunked the needle down on the turntable I knew something wasn't right, even at the vulnerable age of 16. Was it contractual that he stayed with the band until a replacement came or what? Anyone?

  • @TheZepmeister From what I've read, it was contractual, and done to protect the band's image. They didn't want it out that Ace was leaving. He stayed in the fold publicly until they toured for 'Creatures'. Needing a lead guitarist, Vinnie Vincent was hired on. Believe it was 1984, ironically after VV was fired, by the time the legal moves were completed to dissolving Ace's partnership altogether. Between Peter going, recording 'the Elder', and Ace's own issues, he was done w/ KISS by late '81.

  • I like the original lineup the best . . . of the replacements, I'd pick Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick.
