Each album is a different theme, and thus they will all have different sounds in their own way. If they all had the same sound it would end up like Korn.. all their songs will end up having the same feel instead of their own stories, and then it will grow boring listening to HIM because each song would end up sounding like the rest.
Is there any other bands similar to HIM (preferably old HIM, Razorblade Romance and Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666 and Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights) if so please message me a list. I LOVE this band but i can't find anything even close to them. and i don't count AFI and My Chemical Romance as similar so please don't tell me they are. In fact i think both bands kinda suck in my opinion (sorry fans of AFI and MCR. that's just how i feel)

Ughh, I can't say I dislike either album, I like each one for certain things. 666 Greatest Love Songs for the heavy rawness, Razorblade Romance for the dark pop-esque songs, Love Metal for the pure power, Dark Light for the poetic ballads, DSBH for the Gothic romanticism, Venus doom for it's heavy AND powerful sound and Screamworks for the not-so-run-of-the-mill pop.
I don't understand why this album is called "Love Metal." This is slow, slightly hard-edged rock. This has essentially nothing to do with metal, other than the use of guitar distortion.
HIM is a poetic band by nature, their lyrics for "Screamworks" are amazing...they just dont have the same emotional impact as the old metal they used to do. The metal in the songs brought them to life, and set them apart from other bands and love songs. Screamworks, other than the acoustics, might be one of my least favourite albums /:

@Jaysdeath I don't think Dark Light is really the worst now that the newest album is out. Venus Doom was my favorite. This is a close second. My favorite songs come from this period, but my favorite album as a whole is Venus Doom. It'd be perfect if only it wasn't for Song or Suicide... lol..

@Jaysdeath I don't think Dark Light is really the worst now that the newest album is out. Venus Doom was my favorite. This is a close second. My favorite songs come from this period, but my favorite album as a whole is Venus Doom. It'd be perfect if only it wasn't for Song or Suicide... lol..
