  • Small correction Gene Deitch is American but moved to Czechoslovakia

  • Gabriel Iglesias ftw

  • 8:09 :D

  • can you do a animation lookback : scooby-doo?

  • it took 1 hour to load this 15minute video

  • "Tom and Jerry became an icon in cartoons, and forever to be known as the original cat and mouse duo."

"...forever to be known as the original cat and mouse duo."

"...the original cat and mouse duo."

What about Mickey and Big Bad Pete? Unless you don't know what Pete is.

  • @SmashBroGameAndWatch He's a dog, I believe. He's in "Goof Troop" and "A Goofy Movie" where just about EVERYONE is a dog of some kind.

  • @Milkman26789Z Pete is supposed to be a cat, if you check in the old cartoons, he was a cat, and he is classified as a cat

  • I've been to a Yogi Bear park.

  • You forgot to mention there main competitor at the time : Jay Ward, and his Rocky and Bullwinkle series.

    11:51 Nice!

  • So that how they had it during that time? Atleast they made cartoons instead of giving up becuse of the budget limit. I really wanna know how much work there is in a proper cartoon on 10 minutes. Hand drawn.

  • What show is that at 00:19?

  • @ScrubmanLowell Dexter's Laboratory.

  • @collie7225 No, I'm talking about the one with the coconut blowing a kiss to that island. But thanks anyway.

  • @ScrubmanLowell Coconot Fred's Fruit Salad Island. Kinda the Kids's WB version of Spongebob.

  • The Flintstones = THE FIRST ANIMATED SITCOM.

  • Nice!

  • 04:12 AHHHHH!! IT BURNS!! BUUUUURRRRNNNNNNS!!

  • Also my favorite film is the Phantom Tollbooth and the first and only time I watched it was on Banana Splits show on CN back in mid 90s and at time I tought it was related to The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Liveaction-animation TV show wich I came to know from an 80s VHS release of the whole series as a movie simply titled ''Tom Sawyer and HBFinn'' but TNAofHBF didn't have anything to do with as far as I know the 90s CN rerun of the Banana Splits Show. Interesting how things relate.

  • I learned english by watching The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm show segments of wich if I recall well they took a letter of the dictionary and made tons of words out of it with images. I remember once they piecked up F and used Fred as an example of the words Father, Fat, ect. That segment was later translated to spanish and I learned english with it.

  • I LOVE YOU!! I LOVE U!! :D

  • 11:01

the guy in the green kinda looks like hitler if u think about it

but other wise i miss these cartoons im 14 and watched most of the cartoons when i was a lil and still watch some today.

  • Oops, I ment to say "Huckleberry Hound."

  • Mr. Brunet, you forgot to mention that Tom and Jerry were also in the films "Anchors Aweigh," and "Dangerous When Wet."

Or did you not know about that?

By the way, how is Yogi Bear based on Andy Griffith?

  • sometimes i call them thomas and jerome.

  • The Tom & Jerry Movie got panned by fans and critics including Siskel and Ebert.

  • OH SWEET! I didn't know they were going to put cindy in the new yogi bear movie! The more news like that, I get tempted to go and see it!

  • Did you know that Hukleberry Hound was based on Andy Griffith?

  • I liked Yo Yogi, though it didn't do well, yet it was view in 3D, you have to got the glasses from buying Rice Krispies .

  • Dear Electric Dragon, The second and last host/performer of the 1962/1964 version of"The Ruff & Reddy Show"was "Capt.Bob"Cottle.his live action segments proved to be much more popular than the films. So the show only screened two "R&R"films and not three.

  • does anibody find it sad that public tv got ditch the saturday morning shift

  • i loved tom and jerry

  • Maybe time on Animation Lookback you can do a Famous UK animation studio named "Cosgrove-Hall" was founded by Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall who'd had previously worked at Stop Frame animation studios. That made Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, The Wind in the Willows, Chorlton and the Wheelies, Jamie and the Magic Torch, Noddy's Toyland Adventures, Victor and Hugo, Cockleshell Bay and Avenger Penguins etc. all the best Sam Briggs.

  • Maybe time on Animation Lookback you can do Warner Bros. Animation that made Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies etc. but there knownas a lot of different studio names e.g. Harman-Ising Productions (1930-1933), Leon Schlesinger Productions (1933-1944), Warner Bros. Cartoons (1944-1964), DePatie-Freleng Enterprises (1964-1967), Warner Bros.-Seven Arts Cartoons (1967-1969) and Warner Bros. Animation (1980-) and character like: Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Bosko, Buddy etc. all the best Sam Briggs.

  • Dude, I love your Animation Lookback, maybe next you can do Pixar

  • i love ur ur animation reviews maybe next u can make a warner brothers lookback

  • did you know today the flinstones 50th anniversary

  • great video.

  • The Yogi Bear film is gonna suck!

  • @hackensac well boo boo's voice is awesome

  • Cool!

    :D

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • Minor note, but nobody asked so I'd thought I'd ask:

01:32 - "Big black lady"? Kind of racially insensitive ain't it?

  • @ForbiddenDouchebag it was a product of its time like many of the great cartoons that were made

  • @hackensac Yes, I know that.

But he could have said something other than that.

  • @ForbiddenDouchebag you want "racially insensitive"?

try seeing "Song Of The South", and "Dumbo"

  • when you said the shows were cancelled, a bunch of hanna-barbera cartoons like tom & Jerry, the Flinstones, The Jetsons, and more are on a channel called boomerang (Which is owned by cartoon network)

  • This is great can't wait for the next part.

  • cant wait till scooby comes in!!!

  • Awesome video, totally worth the wait!

  • December 2010, man are you a time travler?

  • There's even a Jellystone park up in Canada in Niagara Falls Ontario that is

  • @PieFights i went to jellystone near NY in 2003

  • I'll admit these guys had an equal amount of good and bad ideas, but they certainley are the Kings of Saturday morning television :) Great job Mat, I actually learned a few things I didn't know before.

My parents love most of the Hanna-Barbera cartoons, so it's always really nice to sit down and watch some with them.

  • Oh, and one more thing. 4:13 KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!

  • Yeah, that new Yogi Bear film is going to get a review by yours truely. Not a full review, but more of a perspective review.

As for this new review of yours, it's pretty good so far. Can't wait to see more.

  • ElectricDragon505 don't forget to mention in later part's about hannah barbera land

  • Nice review.

  • It's great to see the new lookback!

You can never go wrong with Tom & Jerry cartoons! They're the best!

By the way, are you going to do a review of the Yogi Bear movie, or are you a reasonable person & skip it all together?

  • 05:30, SEND THAT LOGO BACK TO THE DEPTHS OF HELL FROM WHICH IT CAME!

  • I've acctualy seen a Jellystone Park about an hour or two away from my house, No Joke, and the billboard has Yogi Bear on it.

  • 04:08, MONEH
