Distributed traction entered use for metro trains earlier because more motored axles is more conducive to higher accelerations and lower top speeds, with the opposite being true for locomotive configurations. For instance, the Zefiro will have 2/3 axles motored for the 250km/h version and 1/2 for the 300 and 380km/h m versions.

I don't think even the USA has that many internationally-known companies. Which is the 400km/h train you are referring to? I know a company in Changchun recently showed to the press a 380km/h train (which, as it happens, looked like a Siemens Velaro), but I don't remember a 400km/h one.

Regarding the people you allude to who say that whites are the best, your non-stop bragging here reinforces their views. Also, when the bottom fell off the property market in 1987 in Japan, it showed that it was not invincible and much of its economic might was an illusion. German companies also produce most of their products abroad, For instance the the Siemens Velaro successor of the ICE 3 train shown in the video (btw a faster train then any Shinkansen version) is produced in Spain for the Spanish market and in China for the Chinese market and if Russia stays with it's original order then they'll be produced there too, similar things go for any other company just look where VW production facilities are.

Following near total economic ruin in WWII, Japan was put on its feet again by the US in the form of the Marshall Plan (look this up on Wikipedia). first you have to do the apprenticeship for locomotive-drivers. then you need a few years of experience in driving regional trains. after this you can apply by the interciy-transport, which includes the ICE.
