Also, you must be smoking something if you don't think America is one of the safer countries in the world. As a tourist, I might only feel safer in Canada or Japan. When I was in The Netherlands, we had to wear anti-pickpocket satchels for our money and some other tourist got punched in the face for some unknown, random reason.
We call it 'murder.' The 'murder' rate would be lower if law-abiding citizens carried weapons because the 'murderer' will be dead. A 'murder' will not have occurred because the defender has not committed a murder. It wasn't planned and was without malice. They were defending themselves. Never forget Whitechapel. And don't kid yourself. Brits and Yanks are all the same in the eyes of the rest of the world.
And since you are having a hard time grasping the concept, I'll bring it down a notch for you. Homicide is the act of killing someone. So if I am defending myself with my bare hands because I am being attacked and I happen to kill the person, that is a homicide. If we each have a gun, then its all the same. The attacker will have a gun regardless of any law. So lets stop calling what we are discussing homicide.
I like how people generalize America like you can do that with 310 million people. If you had a country with one moron on it, it would be easy to generalize. So as it stands, England has 1/6th the population so don't tell me the weather doesn't suck and food is atrocious there. And considering the density, I'd put my money on America having way more safe places to scary places than England does.
@Harrisam66 If we were to take away guns they'd have to get the registered ones, the only ones the govt. knows about. There's this thing called the black market, nobody really knows what's circulating on it. So criminals will always have guns, why render law abiding citizens defensless?
@ibesteadymobbin92 I'll just keep my vacations on this side of the pond to stay safe. My original comment was "American sounds scary"...It still does!
@Harrisam66 Criminals will always have guns. Period. You can't "put out the fire". That's the most unrealistic statement I've ever heard. It will never happen. Do you honestly think some drug dealers going to get his Mac-10 registered? Lol.
love your attitude, everybody should have the right to protect themselves and their family! i just left you a message on your page, i subbed you, check out my page and sub back if you like, be well.
@Harrisam66 The problem with the uk and other countries where firearms are illegal is that your political leaders all live in this lala land where nobody ever gets hurt and nothing bad ever happens. The reality is that people are killed every day and honestly, what makes one guy more likely to be a victim than the other. It can happen to anyone and she's just simply more prepared than 99% of the population.
@ibesteadymobbin92 Sure, people get hurt and bad things happen every day. Cars collide, people slip and fall, even rape and homicide occurs in the UK just like every other country. The difference is that the "99%" of less prepared folk are unarmed and face criminals whom have every right to own and carry a firearm.
I'm not slating this woman's attitude to be prepared, good for her..
Why fight fire with fire when you can put the fire out to begin with? Where guns are legal, they are abused.
Shit happens. Just because marijuana is illegal does that stop people from getting it? Absolutely not. Same goes with guns, criminals will always have them. Even in America, full auto rifles are illegal for the most part, yet they wind up in the wrong hands.
America must be a scary place to live if a woman feels so strongly about possessing a firearm. In the UK guns are for films and for the military, I can't imagine it being any other way. Peace
@Harrisam66 America is a large country with a lot of people compared to the UK. There are lots of different environments. Do they not have rape in the UK?
@usf3983 Rate of rape in US is similar to that of the UK (28.6 v 24.1 / 100,000 ppl). US has 3 times rate of homicide of the UK (4.55 v 1.45 / 100,000 ppl). And 25 times the rate of homicide using gun violence (2.97 v 0.12 / 100,000 ppl). The UK has a population density of 255 ppl/km^2 compared to 32 ppl/km^2. So tell me which country is safer?
Source Wikipedia: List of sovereign states and dependent territories by population density, Gun violence & Rape statistics.
@Harrisam66 You're just digging yourself deeper mate. I never understood owning a gun until it was brought to my attention that there isn't anything stopping criminals from owning guns. @ibesteadymobbin92 has already addressed it. So you say we have 3 times the murder as the UK?
@Harrisam66 So I would imagine the murders are going to happen anyway and that if the people in those homicides had guns, that rate would be lower. Again you say a rate of 25 times higher rate of homicide using gun violence. Those criminals are breaking the law regardless of any gun laws. I bet the homicide by any other form is higher in the UK than in the US. I don't know what the figures are but your "facts" are specious.
@usf3983 *I stated my sources* albeit I understand that Wikipedia is not the most reliable of source: en.wikipedia(.)org/wiki/Gun_violence
I don't really understand your logic of: "if..people..had guns, ..rate would be lower" sorry bro :s
General homicide rates are ~1/3 in the UK compared to America. Rates with firearms are ~ 1/25. Not to mention so many less "accidents" and child deaths.
America is still sounds scary to me, lets not digress!
a gun and a baby is fine. Do you get rid of your household cleaners, booze, and other deadly substances when you have a child, or do you take additional precautions to ensure you can still keep cleaning supplies, and power tools, and other dangerous items while you have children.
Can't agree on the safety issue. 100% on training, but motivations are hard to criticize. I know people who carry because they live in bad neighborhoods, and they feel safer armed, I don't see how that's a problem
Should this woman carry a gun?...Unequivocally YES!
The arguments presented against you carrying a gun are stupid. Granted there is a myriad of different scenarios that could happen but it is better to be "prepared" than not. There are numerous liberal retards trying trying to spew their uneducated mess.
just sayin, the first time i picked up a gun i won gold medal in a shooting competition, not exactly john wayne, but pretty good. also good video, and its nice to see people who understand the importance of unarmed defense, so many people seem to substitute that with a vast amount of knowledge about their gun
JoeTheExpert12... Sorry Joe. Only 2 reasons to not need a CCW. 1. like Vermont, none is required, & 2. you can open carry. Keeping and bearing arms is more than a right. It's a responsibility! Read our Declaration of Independence and 2nd Amendment, we are to do so, to ensure our freedom even our own government, if need be. Without guns we would be British subjects, not Free Citizens. If we lose our guns eventually we will become American subjects.

see most ppl dont knw about there rights becouse when we are young the goverment tells schools what we will learn an what we will not . like the bill of rights vs ww2 we lear everything there is too know bout it but we know nothing of our own nations rights an freedoms my lil cuzin shes 12 i asked her what dose the right to arms mean she said whats that so i told her all bout the bill of rights an the freedoms of america .so i ask why have school if american rights an freedom isnt apart of it.
If your considering a ccw gun i recommend something small like a pocket revolver in .38 special or a glock 26 in 9mm, either of those are very popular calibers but either way the choice is yours completely. (supposing you still need a ccw gun.)
Hahaha, right after you said "he said if a criminal wanted to get a gun he could get it easier off of me" I cracked up. After hearing your past combat training, I would feel much more comfortable robbing a gun store that taking a gun from you.
you raise many good points. but i disagree with carrying a gun to feel safe. i sleep better knowing i have a weapon at my disposal to protect myself.
but i know the power that the gun contains, and i know that i put myself at risk if i were to draw my weapon without the intentions to use it. if i am going to draw my weapon to protect myself i am prepared to use it. i hope i dot have to but i will.
The sheep pretend the wolf will never come, but the sheepdog lives for that day
Let Me 1st & Foremost Say that your Video on Firearms & Carrying a Child was Great. I agree. I Wish more Ladies would get Training, and Carry! You have EVERY-RIGHT to Protect yourself & your Child! Even your Husband! Personally I do not know why you even Remark to the IDIOTS who Complain, I feel they must have their own Insecurities & Hangups to even make that remark. I hope that helped Other Women and me to see. How to carry a child and be Armed at the same time.
I don't think you should have to explain yourself when it comes to defending yourself. I appreciate the video, but it comes with the territory of being a you-tube personality. People will criticize you for the wrong reasons, or criticize you just unfairly. By the way, you look super hot in that "carrying a gun and a baby " video.
Very well spoken. I applaud your decision to take responsibility for your and your children's safety. I'm sure you're aware, however, your logical and common sense decision will perplex some people and you will draw some heat. Great video.
i was a military police office. i will be the first to tell you that if you carry you need to fully know that if you pull a gun you need to intend to use it. there was an mp who pulled a car over. the guy in the car got out and rushed the mp. the mp pulled his gun but wasnt ready to use it. the guy then disarmed the mp and shot and killed the mp . the point is if you pull it out you better intend to use it.
Great video! I will be passing this video onto the girl im seeing. Since I carry, she has become very interested is wanting a gun too. These are some of the points I have been trying to stress to her. Thanks!
I would rather you carry a gun and your baby. Then to not carry. The problem if any would be when you have to pull your weapon on a perp while holding your child. Beware of the Momma Grizzly defending her cub!!!!
love the video agree on alot of points but like most disagree with some points with all respect i dont want to offend or anything like that but my view is a gun is much more serious then ur shoes or a cooking tool. a gun kills (corrects the person who pulls the trigger kills but its the tool that helps) its not something u can compare to average every day things yes its part of ur every day life but for example u wont get in to a emergency situation with a cooking tool hit the limit on comment
Well I agree on your points, a mother should be allowed to carry a gun, and I'd recommend it. I agree every point on your video but one, training isn't -just- training, I believe you are under trained then military personnel. Their training, through weeks of training keeps them accurate, strong, and ready for their weapons, but it also gives them a mindset. A mindset that they have to use the gun, and the mindset that makes it second nature. Military and police officers have a mindset as well.
@MichiganShot I was in the military for 7 years and including boot camp I had about 6 or 7 actual range courses, but that seemed sufficient for sending me to protect your country. I assure you that Lima has much more training in gun handling and martial arts than MOST members of our military.
You, as a mother, have the same right to legally own a gun for self defense as any man or law enforcement personnel. "Right to carry" states guarantee that right for you as a law abiding citizen. Exercise your right and ignore the gun control morons! 911 can't reach you in a split second when you're life is in endanger!
i think you have every right to carry a gun while your carrying your baby, as a matter of fact i think you should carry while your taking care of your child. why does anyone carry a gun? answer - to protect themselves and thier family. thats the whole point, so some scumbag cant harm our childeren
A women that fails to protect the mother of their children, is not a mother. In Ohio, one women thought a court order and 911 would protect her. She's dead and her children have no mother. What kind of mother is that, that would allow her life to end so easlly.
Limalife, You're doing just fine. I hate to see you get sucked into this madness that is the youtube "community." Real life trolls are trolling you here on youtube, the key to winning with them is to pay them no attention. By responding to them either here in the comments or making a video only fuels their fire. I really like your vids, not that it should matter, and am having my wife watch them to get a womans perspective. Less drama and more educational stuff please. :)
We agree with everyting you said in this video. The people who said you should not carry a gun and a baby are wrong. Your child is relying on you and only you for protection. If someone has no training, then they shouldn't carry with or without a baby. But you clearly have sufficent training for most situations. Keep up the great work!!!!
Thanks for putting ccw in proper perspective. It gives me something to think think about. Where I live you need a permit for ccw, but not for open carry, (most of the time).
I was taking a study break & decided to watch this again. I HAVE to ask you. Did you get stalked by that asshole that was spweing propaganda about us? Like REALLY stupid propaganda. It's impossible to kill someone with a 22(yeah you're no gonna stp a 300 lbs guy but you will eventually bleed to death or suffer organ failure) um pistol grip rifles allow for super accurate hip shooting? My personal favorite carry concealed holders are the biggest murderers in the country? Am I ringing any bells?
I think your videos are very informative and I hope you continue to do them. Yes I agree, protect your family even when you have your baby with you. :-)
Look i have to say i really dont care what negative comments anyone has to say. You maam with as beautiful as you are have refused to become a victim and for that i commend you while im in the process of getting my concealed carry permit now, my state allows open carry so for the time being thats what i do and i have everyone ask me "well what if someone tries to take it since its out in the opne" and i can only laugh and say "they wont" keep up the good work and continue to do what your doing
You are so cool!!! I love watching your videos. I am about to turn 21 in only a few days and I want to get a concieled carry permit. I think I have learned more from your vids than any other source. Thank you very much for posting your knowledge in these videos, it is very helpful.
As a recent CCW in Ohio, I agree with you that more training and practice would make you a better gun carrier, but I would like to mention to anyone that watched this video and reading each opinion, that if you carry a gun, that means that you more than likely will kill someone IF you use it. THINK before you use it. What happened prior to pulling the gun, are you being bodily threatened, can I escape without harm, etc. Check out usconcealedcarry for lots of information that will help.
You became a handgun instructor? That's awesome...women are sometimes afraid of guns but sadly they are the one's who need protection the most...good for you
he's really good , magpul dynamic look them up if you never heard of them , and who care what other people say weman should carry more then man anyways , and this is comeing from a man, :)
Well...What does happend when you actually kill some one, at a event of time...Like a bank robbery happends while you are there put in some money to your bank account....And this robber comes in, threatening to kill everyone in the building...What if I packed a walther p99, and shoot him, then the shot would kill him later...What would happend to me?
@kissmyasssuckers Ummm...your ass ywould be saved. That is what would happen to you. Nothing bad unless the person you killed has a psychopathic brother or something that has some hell bent vendetta against you. If you meant 'What would happen to me?' as in, would I get in trouble with the law? No you wouldn't unless you are illegally carrying that gun. Even then they might go light on you for saving some lives.
Don't worry, the anti gun people are quietly stripping your carry rights. No guns in bars, bar being defined as any place where alcohol is consumed, almost all non fast food restaraunts fall into this. Parks, the greenways throughout my city fall in here, no touring the city off the main road. I got a permit because I use a manual wheelchair, fleeing isn't an option, I had been around firearms all of my life before injury, was an expert marksman on my High School ROTC rifle team.
@Maples01 im sorry about your accident. you are right. I CCW and i do not see why i should not be able to take it into the restraunt as long as i do not drink alcohol. Guns are great equalizers
Regarding concealed carry, keep in mind that we are Citizins in a Citizens state. Meaning the government is of the People. Every Citizen is a member of the government. We have elected officials to represent us.. key word is represent not lord over. Also, police and fire are appointed by the Citizens. But in the end all Legal Citizens Are the government so it is not such a leap to say that legal Cotizens can protect themselves.
I certainly don't agree with those other guys. I'm amazed at the amount of training you've been blessed to have. I believe it's every persons right and responsibility to provide for their own defense and the defense of their family. I absolutely support your right to carry both your sidearm and your child. You can never understate the importance of training or preparedness. I think some basic training should be prerequisite to getting a CPL.
In my state you cant conceal but the law inforcement here in our area has informed us they cant protect us by them selves because of the robberies here. So yes I will carry my gun and my baby. Laws dont always help protect you. I guess my point is why question if you should carry a gun and a baby in this world.
Love what your doing, I will soon be gettting my License, but I am having a hard time deciding on a make I like. I know without any doubt or second thought that I want to get a 45.cal, but as far as the maker goes Idk. I have looked at the various glocks(30 and 36), H&K 45. Compact, and a Kimber ultra carry.
Yes-- hmm, gun is to protect life. you have a baby that can in no way defend himself/herself. You definitely should carry and have more reason to carry as a mother!! bad guys can get a gun easier? irrelevant, especially if it is concealed. If more good guys carried, there would be less bad guys (fewer would break law because of the fear of an armed civilian).
America is a very dangerous country. Kids get kidnapped and murdered. Planes get hijacked. Terrorists strap bombs in their pants. Presidents get assassinated and shot at. Cops get killed in coffee shops. Women gets raped and strangle.
First of all she CONCEAL carries, which means most people wouldn't even know she HAS a gun. Therefore, no perpetrator is going to try to take her gun unless for some reason they knew she had it, and they wanted it. As as I can tell from her training, that would be a BAD! Police officers carry their gun in the open which I would argue makes them even more acceptable to an attack in which they intend to dearm the officer. Most assailants do not assume someone has a gun, if they did, they wouldn't
Oh, Lord....try take a gun off this young lady? Yeah, I'd personally be curious about the result of that ill fated attempt at a gun grab....100 to 1 it'll be an unintentional suicide. I understand, respect, and applaud the poster's sincere and humble motive for posting this video, but I can say without a doubt that if anyone has the resources to say "Molon labe" to anyone, this young lady does. I wouldn't dare my worst enemy to grab her gun.
I agree that every level headed adult person capable of making rational decisions whether man or woman has the right to protect themselves with the most effective tools available. Why should a Mother such as yourself Lima be prohibited from carrying a firearm to protect not only yourself but the most precious thing in anyone's life? I think if you have a kid that is all the more reason to seek professional firearms instruction.
I am not trying to sound sexist or anything but there needs to be more women like you speaking out on this subject. I think that other women need to hear from people like you so that maybe they will give their own personal safety more consideration instead of wandering around in condition white.
I have been shooting longer than some cops have been alive. I don't listen to any of these fumblers who think involvement in law enforcement = firearms expertise, and neither should you. That's just my opinion.
@GoBlackwater AMAZING....I couldnt have said it better myself. I've been shootin 18 years and I'm 23 yrs. old and I'm still learning new things almost everyday as far as firearms are concerned. I share your opinion. "know-it-alls" are dangerous...Beware everyone.
Being a member of the LE community I will concede one fact SOME cops are terrible shooters. However don't pigeon hole us especially if you never wore a badge. Come out to any NRA police tac competition and I promise we will eat up most civilian 3 gun shooters. I too have shot all my life to include service in the USMC and 2 seperate police agencies. I train hard and devote alot of trigger time and know my skills are where they need to be when it comes to winning a gun fight. Can you say the same
by 1:30 into your video I sort of decided you were good to go with pursuing your ccw.however if you are in fact cc, I'd remove this vid. You wanted to become educated, trained and proficient with your gun and lethal force. I commend you for that.bad guys train too,but they dont live within our laws.good people do.there's a movie i cant recall.a cop arrests a bad guy who just killed another man.the cop tells him he just killed an unarmed man. the bad guy responds, "well...he should've been armed"
If life were pure... and all people were good - no one would carry. Yes, I carry to feel safer. Am I prepared? Probably more than most. Do I continually prepare, train, practice, learn, etc Absolutely. After years of studying localized defense with a firearm I realize many are not prepared. I think we can agree that "carrying - without training or preparation - is foolish". Keep up the good work. You do put up some really nice stuff.
I really like your videos but... I do need for you to explain (in greater detail) that... anyone who carries should be carrying to be 'prepared' - and that you should not carry to 'feel safe'. I carry for both reasons. I carry - to be prepared - and as a result - I feel safer. When I gather my things needed for the day: wallet, keys, phone, firearm... I feel naked without ANY of them. I'm not completely sure I understand you. But, what I do know is that - ego cannot be involved in carrying.
If, as a result of being prepared, you feel safer that's understandable. One can feel safer by replacing bad tires or brakes on their vehicle. Will it prevent a car accident? Maybe. Then again maybe not. No matter what kind of brakes or tires you have, if someone else drives through a red light and crashes into you it doesn't matter how "safe" you felt. If you've trained and prepared you may feel safer and that's normal. Provided you realize that feelings won't save you. ........
Feelings are very subjective and if/when the moment comes when your life is threatened all of your feelings of safety will vanish in a heart-beat and be replaced with feelings of fear and anger, confusion and much more. No matter how "safe" you felt the only things you can hope to save you are your mindset, your skills/training, your tactics and your tools.
@limalife Training and preparation might save yoyr life...taking a defensive driving course and being alert and aware may give you the skill to slam the brakes or swerve correctly may allow you to avoid the accident altogether
I think that you are right on. I wish that the Political correct among us would allow us our 1st and 2nd amendment rights along with all the others they themselves enjoy. God bless you for your decision..you have chosen Not to be a victim..nor an aggressor simply a protector of yourself and your family..BRAVO
as i see it i wouldnt get between a mother bear and her cub, goes to the point that trying to take i gun from a mom of any stature would be your biggest mistake. once mother protect mode is kicked into play, she can do anything. ive read the storys on what they can do.
yep its so stupid. We cant have pepper spray, stun guns, tazers or anything. And if you ever did hit a bad guy youll most probably end up getting punished and the criminal getting compensation.
It's just awsome I call this young lady "the Clint Eastwood of soccer moms"... Unfortunatley folks there are some people that will never get it. You can tell them every reason in the world why an armed society is a polite and better society untill you are blue in the face and you'll get comments such as... What do you need a gun for, They will take it from you and kill you wih it,
I love your videos and often refer my female friends who are adverse to firearms. I also refer males to you that seem to think that women know NOTHING about guns :P Thanks!
Your logic is impeccable and you are doing what is right for you and your family. You are in a much better position armed and able to defend yourself than being unarmed with a baby. As far as being able to get a gun from you being easier than from a police officer, obviously the folks saying that have never heard of a mother bear protecting her young. :-) One thing you don't need to do is feel like you need to defend yourself or your position on this subject
Excellent point. When I get dressed in the morning, I'm putting my socks on the same way that I'm holstering my weapon. (I put my socks on first, though.) But very true, that. I don't feel safe because I carry. It's just a tool that is available to me should the situation warrant it. Just like my hands, feet, or voice.
I saw many of your videos. I think you are a good mother whether you decide to carry a pistol or not.
You can use a pistol properly, and you know this. You trained for this. You have only to pay attention, when it comes to use it with when your child is with you and this is obvious.
I love your videos, and i agree with your reasoning about how you have more training. I have question for those opposed to concealed carrying: isn't unarmed combat difficult if you have a child on a "ring sling" thingy? I don't have any particular experience with that, but just knowing what i know about martial arts currantly, i would find it difficult. so wouldn't a gun be very beneficial for someone in a position like that?
Where are you a handgun instructor at? I'm looking to get more training myself. My uncle taught me how to shoot ,but we don't get to the range near enough. I've actually been think of trying to go to something like Thunder Ranch or Gunsight Academy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Love your videos and how informative they are. It wonderful to hear from a female voice about how important being prepared and the 2nd amendment truly are to the american people!
hey i love your vidoes and I have to say that I feel that you should always carry a gun. Just casue you have a kid doesn't mean you need to stop caring at all, the way i see it criminals will not think twice about attacking you just casue you have your baby. i trust your advice and therefore who you are and know you will always do whats best.
I enjoy your videos however I will have to disagree on a few points. Training is Key as you seem to already know however, Unitl you couple that training with real world Experience you are left unbalanced. Leveling those sights at a living breathing human is a world apart from a paper target. Those officers with any amount of time on the job who might not hit the range as often as they should (no excuse) have a pool of experience to draw from including facing down real world armed assailants.
true but they will be exactly the same situation on their first experiance as she will be. The only difference is that she has had a higher level of training and is in a better position to react.
I'm am not totally disagreeing but I have been a cop for 10 years and can say officers in my agency are highly trained, even rookies. For her to say she is better trained at weapons retention then your average cop is a bold statement. Most guys I know also supplement there training with MMA and their own range time. If your that officer who goes to the range once a year then shame on you but those guys (at least in my dept.) are few and far between. After all the life you save may be your own.
a fair point, but without the full information as to how much training she has done and the average amount of training a police officer has done I dont think either of us can make an informed decision. Based on what she has said though and my own basic (but lacking) knowledge of police training I find it quite believable that she has had more training, and at the very very least has more than enough to react ot a situation
Even well trained agencies have idiots who have no business carrying guns. I highly agree with your logic. When SECONDS count the cops are MINUTES away. But don't be to hard on your local PD's you would be highly surprised at the skill levels of some of your rank and file officers. Either way, love what your doing and I enjoy the videos. Keep it up! I'd like to see more AR vids. I would like to see your take on a rifle platform from a smaller framed shooter. Enjoy the newyear and happy shooting!
I agree. I don't hold it against any LEO or agency if they are under-trained. I understand budget and time constraints. I also am well aware that many LEOs go out of their way to further their skills on their own time and that is wonderful. And as I said, it doesn't matter in the long run because it doesn't matter a bit what kind of training someone else has when I'm the one in trouble.
I'm glad to see that your department is highly trained. I wish it were that way around the country and in all departments. I've lived in 5 different states in the last 6 years and have worked with many officers on qual day at ranges... it has inspired me to get more training having seen how poorly trained your average LEO is trained. Either way, it really doesn't matter because when I need them now (trained or not) they are minutes away. The only training I can rely on is my own.
One day.. I lost my cable for my video camera.. as soon as I can replace that I can actually take my video camera out and get some footage. I would like to do a shooting video.. enough talk already! haha
Another excellent vid. How can anyone who believes in RKBA not see that defending your child is even more important than defending yourself, because the child has no choice to defend itself. Your little guy is your responsibility, and you take that at least as seriously as self-defense.
I appreciate the perspectives that you share in your videos, keep up the good work.
To be fair, you are not the "average" mommy with a gun tucked in the pocket of her diaperbag!
you got that feeling safe point superb, I hate when somebody brings up and/or says that, it is funny how some people think that with a firearm or any other thing/object then you're auto-magically safe because you're in it or have it on you.
Great video. For me, my carry gun is like a spare tire. I hope I never have to use it, but have it to be prepared in case I need it. Just like a spare is of little good if you don't know how to change it, a carry gun is of little use without the adequate training and confidence to use it accurately under stress.
Dont FEAL bad the people that posted those trash talk vids. They dont know what thay are talkin about. Ferthermore thay are priks that just like to here themselves talk .sorry bout my dyislexic spelling
Thank you. I've heard this described in many a way and have yet to find it put forth so succinctly. Do you mind if I steal your wording? :-)
I'm a firearm instructor and I can't think of anything that I get more flak about than the whole 'afraid of the world' thing. Fear is not the reason. Is it fear that makes you wear a seatbelt? Nope. I wear my seatbelt for the same reason I wear my 1911: it's better to wear it and never need it, than need it and not wear it.
i am an avid airsofter and real steel shooter. which by the way if you look up airsoft here on youtube you will get a distorted image of little timmys running around with "WallyWorld super springer specials" my entire team who also happen to be the only people i trust, has less training than you with one exception, my team commander. he has had over 10 years of every weekend, and 2 hours on weeknights almost constantly.
well said...i have worked in a gun store recently and i cannot tell you how refreshing it is to have a person who has guns, knows what the hell they are talking about, and uses them responsibly. don't worry about the nay-sayers, you have alot of people supporting you, keep making fantastic videos
You're a smart woman and mother. You have the credentials for the job of protecting yourself and your child. There are some problems though. Not all gun owners have access to the continued practice and improvement of their skills, like you do. Unfortunately they still own guns and tend to carry them around their family. Then, people want to add apples and oranges, but they cant. They baby has no access to the gun and will not be shooting it. So having a baby and a gun should not be a problem
I 100% agree. I'm active duty military and have deployed multiple times. I would know something about adequate or inadequate training. There are plenty of people in general that know firearms and are well trained in their use regardless of age, gender or physical stature. It's about putting forth the time and effort to learn to use the firearm/platform you'll be betting your life, or the lives of others on.
I love people who have a passion about somethingor anything. I would trust you with my kid any day of the week over someone else dialing 911 just to be placed on hold, please. You talk the talk and walk the walk. Your manager is a genius for hiring you. You're pure gold to a gun shop / range. My advice to you, ask for a raise, a big fat one.
Well said! I am a firearm instructor and I know some folks will be surprised about how many mothers with babies are carrying guns and how many little and fragile grandmothers are carrying too. Bad guys be aware, women are getting tired of being the easy target, they are arming themselves and getting a lot of training.
Many people should be required to get spatuala training as well. In fact there are many tools in my toolbox that are more dangerous than my gun. None of my tools elicit any emotional response in me either.
How many crimes do you think would be committed in a country if every criminal knew that the majority of the citizens was packing heat?
usf3983 1 week ago
Also, you must be smoking something if you don't think America is one of the safer countries in the world. As a tourist, I might only feel safer in Canada or Japan. When I was in The Netherlands, we had to wear anti-pickpocket satchels for our money and some other tourist got punched in the face for some unknown, random reason.
usf3983 1 week ago
We call it 'murder.' The 'murder' rate would be lower if law-abiding citizens carried weapons because the 'murderer' will be dead. A 'murder' will not have occurred because the defender has not committed a murder. It wasn't planned and was without malice. They were defending themselves. Never forget Whitechapel. And don't kid yourself. Brits and Yanks are all the same in the eyes of the rest of the world.
usf3983 1 week ago
And since you are having a hard time grasping the concept, I'll bring it down a notch for you. Homicide is the act of killing someone. So if I am defending myself with my bare hands because I am being attacked and I happen to kill the person, that is a homicide. If we each have a gun, then its all the same. The attacker will have a gun regardless of any law. So lets stop calling what we are discussing homicide.
usf3983 1 week ago
I like how people generalize America like you can do that with 310 million people. If you had a country with one moron on it, it would be easy to generalize. So as it stands, England has 1/6th the population so don't tell me the weather doesn't suck and food is atrocious there. And considering the density, I'd put my money on America having way more safe places to scary places than England does.

@Harrisam66 If we were to take away guns they'd have to get the registered ones, the only ones the govt. knows about. There's this thing called the black market, nobody really knows what's circulating on it. So criminals will always have guns, why render law abiding citizens defensless?

@Harrisam66 The problem with the uk and other countries where firearms are illegal is that your political leaders all live in this lala land where nobody ever gets hurt and nothing bad ever happens. The reality is that people are killed every day and honestly, what makes one guy more likely to be a victim than the other. It can happen to anyone and she's just simply more prepared than 99% of the population.
ibesteadymobbin92 2 weeks ago
@ibesteadymobbin92 Sure, people get hurt and bad things happen every day. Cars collide, people slip and fall, even rape and homicide occurs in the UK just like every other country. The difference is that the "99%" of less prepared folk are unarmed and face criminals whom have every right to own and carry a firearm.
I'm not slating this woman's attitude to be prepared, good for her..
Why fight fire with fire when you can put the fire out to begin with? Where guns are legal, they are abused.
Peace
Harrisam66 1 week ago
Shit happens. Just because marijuana is illegal does that stop people from getting it? Absolutely not. Same goes with guns, criminals will always have them. Even in America, full auto rifles are illegal for the most part, yet they wind up in the wrong hands.
ibesteadymobbin92 2 weeks ago
Yep, it is a responsibility.

America must be a scary place to live if a woman feels so strongly about possessing a firearm. In the UK guns are for films and for the military, I can't imagine it being any other way. Peace

@Harrisam66 America is a large country with a lot of people compared to the UK. There are lots of different environments. Do they not have rape in the UK?
usf3983 3 weeks ago
@usf3983 Rate of rape in US is similar to that of the UK (28.6 v 24.1 / 100,000 ppl). US has 3 times rate of homicide of the UK (4.55 v 1.45 / 100,000 ppl). And 25 times the rate of homicide using gun violence (2.97 v 0.12 / 100,000 ppl). The UK has a population density of 255 ppl/km^2 compared to 32 ppl/km^2. So tell me which country is safer?

Harrisam66 1 week ago
@Harrisam66 You're just digging yourself deeper mate. I never understood owning a gun until it was brought to my attention that there isn't anything stopping criminals from owning guns. @ibesteadymobbin92 has already addressed it. So you say we have 3 times the murder as the UK?
usf3983 1 week ago
@Harrisam66 So I would imagine the murders are going to happen anyway and that if the people in those homicides had guns, that rate would be lower. Again you say a rate of 25 times higher rate of homicide using gun violence. Those criminals are breaking the law regardless of any gun laws. I bet the homicide by any other form is higher in the UK than in the US. I don't know what the figures are but your "facts" are specious.
usf3983 1 week ago
@usf3983 *I stated my sources* albeit I understand that Wikipedia is not the most reliable of source: en.wikipedia(.)org/wiki/Gun_violence
I don't really understand your logic of: "if..people..had guns, ..rate would be lower" sorry bro :s
General homicide rates are ~1/3 in the UK compared to America. Rates with firearms are ~ 1/25. Not to mention so many less "accidents" and child deaths.
America is still sounds scary to me, lets not digress!
Harrisam66 1 week ago
a gun and a baby is fine.

If your considering a ccw gun i recommend something small like a pocket revolver in .38 special or a glock 26 in 9mm, either of those are very popular calibers but either way the choice is yours completely. (supposing you still need a ccw gun.)

you raise many good points. but i disagree with carrying a gun to feel safe. i sleep better knowing i have a weapon at my disposal to protect myself.
but i know the power that the gun contains, and i know that i put myself at risk if i were to draw my weapon without the intentions to use it. if i am going to draw my weapon to protect myself i am prepared to use it. i hope i dot have to but i will.

love the video agree on alot of points but like most disagree with some points with all respect i dont want to offend or anything like that but my view is a gun is much more serious then ur shoes or a cooking tool. a gun kills (corrects the person who pulls the trigger kills but its the tool that helps) its not something u can compare to average every day things yes its part of ur every day life but for example u wont get in to a emergency situation with a cooking tool hit the limit on comment
bossman12334 1 year ago

A women that fails to protect the mother of their children, is not a mother. In Ohio, one women thought a court order and 911 would protect her. She's dead and her children have no mother. What kind of mother is that, that would allow her life to end so easlly.

We agree with everyting you said in this video. The people who said you should not carry a gun and a baby are wrong. Your child is relying on you and only you for protection.

You do put up some really nice stuff.
clarke9mm 1 year ago
I really like your videos but... I do need for you to explain (in greater detail) that... anyone who carries should be carrying to be 'prepared' - and that you should not carry to 'feel safe'. I carry for both reasons. I carry - to be prepared - and as a result - I feel safer. When I gather my things needed for the day: wallet, keys, phone, firearm... I feel naked without ANY of them. I'm not completely sure I understand you. But, what I do know is that - ego cannot be involved in carrying.
clarke9mm 1 year ago
If, as a result of being prepared, you feel safer that's understandable. One can feel safer by replacing bad tires or brakes on their vehicle. Will it prevent a car accident? Maybe. Then again maybe not. No matter what kind of brakes or tires you have, if someone else drives through a red light and crashes into you it doesn't matter how "safe" you felt. If you've trained and prepared you may feel safer and that's normal. Provided you realize that feelings won't save you. ........
limalife 1 year ago 2
Feelings are very subjective and if/when the moment comes when your life is threatened all of your feelings of safety will vanish in a heart-beat and be replaced with feelings of fear and anger, confusion and much more. No matter how "safe" you felt the only things you can hope to save you are your mindset, your skills/training, your tactics and your tools.
limalife 1 year ago 10
@limalife Training and preparation might save yoyr life...taking a defensive driving course and being alert and aware may give you the skill to slam the brakes or swerve correctly may allow you to avoid the accident altogether
BlueCollarSurvival 1 year ago
Lima,
I agree with 110%, being prepared and having a mind set of being prepared is the key.
Gun or no gun shouldn't matter, if you have the right mind. A gun is just a tool.
Most LEO training is, as one instructor put it, is just enough to get yourself into trouble, the rest is learned by experience.
That BS about woman with babies not carrying guns is just alpha dog crap.
A person with a child can be a attackers worst nightmare, if prepared.
So young lady, you keep packin'!
God Bless!

Most people have never heard the phrase "handgun retention",but everyone that carries should know all about it.
daddyg321 2 years ago
what a nice choice to be able to make,in the uk you cant even carry pepper spray or even have it at home for self defence.
RedJellyable 2 years ago
yep its so stupid.

I also refer males to you that seem to think that women know NOTHING about guns :P Thanks!
alrossitto 2 years ago

Blacksabbath211 2 years ago
Where are you a handgun instructor at? I'm looking to get more training myself. My uncle taught me how to shoot ,but we don't get to the range near enough. I've actually been think of trying to go to something like Thunder Ranch or Gunsight Academy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Love your videos and how informative they are. It wonderful to hear from a female voice about how important being prepared and the 2nd amendment truly are to the american people!

hey i love your vidoes and I have to say that I feel that you should always carry a gun. Just casue you have a kid doesn't mean you need to stop caring at all, the way i see it criminals will not think twice about attacking you just casue you have your baby. i trust your advice and therefore who you are and know you will always do whats best.

right before you said it...I was actually getting pissed off....TRAINING (as apposed to your average LEO)...and you got it. it shows.
mlacey56 2 years ago
I enjoy your videos however I will have to disagree on a few points. Training is Key as you seem to already know however, Unitl you couple that training with real world Experience you are left unbalanced. Leveling those sights at a living breathing human is a world apart from a paper target. Those officers with any amount of time on the job who might not hit the range as often as they should (no excuse) have a pool of experience to draw from including facing down real world armed assailants.
fcpd3504 2 years ago 2
true but they will be exactly the same situation on their first experiance as she will be. The only difference is that she has had a higher level of training and is in a better position to react.
jubbles2343 2 years ago
I'm am not totally disagreeing but I have been a cop for 10 years and can say officers in my agency are highly trained, even rookies. For her to say she is better trained at weapons retention then your average cop is a bold statement. Most guys I know also supplement there training with MMA and their own range time. If your that officer who goes to the range once a year then shame on you but those guys (at least in my dept.) are few and far between. After all the life you save may be your own.
Uparmored81 2 years ago
a fair point, but without the full information as to how much training she has done and the average amount of training a police officer has done I dont think either of us can make an informed decision. Based on what she has said though and my own basic (but lacking) knowledge of police training I find it quite believable that she has had more training, and at the very very least has more than enough to react ot a situation
jubbles2343 2 years ago
Even well trained agencies have idiots who have no business carrying guns. I highly agree with your logic. When SECONDS count the cops are MINUTES away. But don't be to hard on your local PD's you would be highly surprised at the skill levels of some of your rank and file officers. Either way, love what your doing and I enjoy the videos. Keep it up! I'd like to see more AR vids. I would like to see your take on a rifle platform from a smaller framed shooter. Enjoy the newyear and happy shooting!
fcpd3504 2 years ago
@fcpd3504
I agree. I don't hold it against any LEO or agency if they are under-trained. I understand budget and time constraints. I also am well aware that many LEOs go out of their way to further their skills on their own time and that is wonderful. And as I said, it doesn't matter in the long run because it doesn't matter a bit what kind of training someone else has when I'm the one in trouble.
limalife 2 years ago 3
@Uparmored81

To be fair, you are not the "average" mommy with a gun tucked in the pocket of her diaperbag!

you got that feeling safe point superb, I hate when somebody brings up and/or says that, it is funny how some people think that with a firearm or any other thing/object then you're auto-magically safe because you're in it or have it on you.
great job.
terahybrid 2 years ago
Great video. For me, my carry gun is like a spare tire. I hope I never have to use it, but have it to be prepared in case I need it. Just like a spare is of little good if you don't know how to change it, a carry gun is of little use without the adequate training and confidence to use it accurately under stress.

So having a baby and a gun should not be a problem
djhyperio 2 years ago

Many people should be required to get spatuala training as well. In fact there are many tools in my toolbox that are more dangerous than my gun. None of my tools elicit any emotional response in me either.
