@TheSarah69 Get off of your high horse. I don't think this is a great version by any means but neither is Lonnie Donegan's. Truth is if you want to understand what this song is really about you need to listen to the field recording of Ernest Williams, James Baker and an actual gang of convicts. That is the definitive version.
I met Fiona yesterday in the Record Tent at the Calgary Folkfest. She's a real sweet girl. They had some travelling difficulties but made it in time for some great performances. Their songs on at the Gospel workshop moved me to tears.
