  • ... the Dragon God has poor fighting form. LOL

  • Why would the dragon god want to get rid of the shiznos? Those dirty dirty shiznos...

  • the first time I fought her, she killed me SO many times that I got lucky by the last phase D=

  • Hey HCBailly, i killed this boss fight with my two party members dead. Should it affect something?

  • You take 1,900 hp from him to change his element stage. So times it 6 times to get his actually hp in the game.(For people who like find out boss hp)

  • I remember saving before fighting this guy just to listen the theme over and over again, but I remember when I actually killed the guy to moving on with the game, the game crashed, my copy of the game was messed up AND I DIEEEE, yeah.

  • Star level for the new game +.

  • Battle of the Dragon God: best music of the game. Hands down.

  • I love the Dragon God Theme... =]

  • Lack of fanfare/Lucca's Theme after the battle was quite ominous.

  • OMG! 7:56 is hilarious!!!

  • Dragon God? It looks more like a shark.

  • Now that was a phenomenal battle! Really good effects! You barely needed buffs at all there!

  • God, this fight can really drag out if you're not fully prepared.

  • WOW I had no idea X strike could do so much...

  • one of the best rpg's ever... love this game... epic old times...

  • FYI, the upcoming LPs are always listed on his channel page.

  • So, this is the Final boss? Wow, so ugly... but I agree that the music is great!

  • Or it's not?

  • I agree...great music. And I loved how you acted like the whole time this was the final dungeon, lol

  • @Jeazy27 You spoiled it! :p

  • Oh come on! You know HC always does this, lol. And he pretty much gives it away at the end of this episode.

  • after chrono cross

  • Double Einlanzer's are actually the strongest weapon in the game, but your poor Glenn has 15 less Strength than Serge, plus the Mastermune has that ungodly critical hit rate. All in all, I love that X-strike damage. This has been a great let's play HC :) can't wait to see what's around the corner.

  • My thought is after he finishes this game.

he'll probably take some time off then start on a Monday or something.

  • Instead of "Do a barrelroll!" I think "Use the boost to get through!" would have worked better, but then I think far fewer people would have understood the reference. Speaking of, Peppy seems to yell ALOT of basic instructions.

  • LOL!!

IM IN LOVE WITH HC BAILY!!!!!!

  • lol you and your epic cliffhangers HC

  • Wasn't the Dragon God around before FATE? If so, why is it using elements? FATE invented elements, so why would the Dragon God have them?

"Eh I hated that FATE guy, but he had the right idea coming up with these 'element' things."

  • Actually, it's the other way around. Back at Divine Dragon Falls the explorers there would talk how the Dragonians discovered and used Power Spots to harness nature's power and create the Elements to store it and use it.

  • Ah.

  • @PTp1ranha I am probably outside my area of expertise, but from what I understand FATE split up the elements in order to control the dragon god that was composed of those elements.

  • Obviously, the star levels are there for a New Game Plus only. Yes, this was the final boss...of course....<_<

  • Cool Music!!

  • Excellent music!! Those damn cliffhangers!!

  • Most epic battle theme I think in terms of dramatic effect.

  • it went yellow blue green yellow black white :D i remebered it by sound

  • can't wait for the end.

  • 46/48 stars 0.0"

  • You temporarily lose a star level every time you use a summon. He used 2 summons so he has 46 left.

  • The battle with Dragon god is awesome! It sorta reminds me of Zelda: Twilight Princess Zant battle.

  • I like how X-strike dose so much more damage than even the summons given all the same elemental advantages. I guess mastermune and duel einlansers really make a difference.

  • HCBailey, will you show all of the endings like you did with Chrono Trigger? If so, will you upload them as side videos when you begin FF8? Because I really can't wait for ur ff8 LP :F

  • as do I

  • Curse you HCBailey and your cliffhangers!

  • you said it

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • what game was "do a barrel roll" on? that IS a reference to some old game right? it just sounds so familliar

  • @bingostar826 starfox 64

  • referance to starfox 64 i think. i know it is from starfox not sure which one

  • The Dragon God was a biomechanical weapon developed 8400 years before Chrono Cross began. At some point it was divided into six dragons of the elements (and colors), three male (Black, Green, Red) and three female (Earth, Blue, Sky).

As for the game stating that the Dragon God (or Time Devourer) is female, despite it being artificial, I don't know.

  • The music alone makes me think of this boss as the final boss, just that awesome.

  • ha ha... dang! still no flying arrow... :P

  • I love this battle! The music, the epicness, the length, the fight to save all of humanity... this is definitely the high point of Disc 2, and possibly the entire game!

  • "TimeDevourer" eh? That's ominous.

And it's female... and White elemental? So much for White = Good. Oh, it changes.

I don't think you even needed Vigora against the Black section.

Of course this isn't the end.

  • Nice music. Sorry for whining, but the sound quality is a bit low, does anyone know what the name of this music is so I can seek it out in better quality?

  • Its called "Dragon God"

  • If you want the original, search for 'PSF Mirror #1' and get a PSF plugin (say for Winamp or foobar2000).

  • You mentioned that "I don't know why they bother with the changing environment for dealing damage". I think they only do it to change the field effect, and also to break up your attacks so your accuracy goes back to normal.

You can also steal a HolyHealing element from the Dragon God, which would be your third one. Not a bad prize!

  • The Dragon does seem to take about 1500 damage before he changes elemental colors, but I think it also has to be his turn before he will change. Last night, I was fighting him, and I missed with Fargo, and immediately after that, he switched to a new color.

So I think there's both a damage and a time counter before he will switch colors.

This can be shown because after you used X-Strike on the Water Dragon form, your stamina regenerated and Glenn went back up to 7.0 Stamina immediately.

  • Notice that the Dragon God is female.

  • Indeed, I love ther battle theme for the Dragon God, it's very Xenogears-esque.

  • HCBailly should do a Let's Play of Xenogears one day. That would be quite a treat.

  • Indeed. Xenogears is a Square RPG, you have to do it! After FF IX or something.

  • You made this look easy.

  • 0:50 I think the Dragon God is turning around repeatedly while attacking because the game treats it as three separate attacks.

  • Finally, after countless battles of fixing problems with my computer, I finally get to continue watching you go through this game.

    Awesome Battle HC...

  • Probably the most awesome soundtrack in the game.

  • intense battle

  • ¬.¬ HCbailey, you leave hints too much.

  • Another excellent HC cliffhanger..the music and structure of this fight are suitably epic..but of course, being an RPG..it's not the end....just yet..I take it..

  • I was excited to watch this LP because HC told us to play Chrono Cross during his CT run if we wanted to find out what happened to Schala. Well, where is she? We're running out of time!

  • Either next episode or the one after that. Patience, my young padawan.

  • I think that this Boss name is wrong, Dragon God would be more fitting. Also, the best PSX music ever.

  • how big is this i'm looking forward to final fantasy 8 nice videos though

  • Or did we... *gasp* You mean there's more?

  • Wow and I thought that tommorow would be the credits xD

  • or did weee? would've been funnier if it was like "we saved the world....OR DID WE!!"

  • Great work fitting the battle into one video. :>

  • Later?? You are gonna use later? Well what do you mean? Later the Time Devourer will be dead? I mean that's it right? Nuts.

  • duel weilding is hard on your hit rating. i dont blame glen for all those misses

  • @dagroth123

    WTB

    Silver Loupe.

  • I think this boss was supposed to be called Fused Dragons or something like that, but they put Time Devourer in by mistake. The boss music really is epic though.

  • Oh I love this boss music its so awesome!! Good call using Glenn for X-strike. It did mad damage!I love that double tech. ;p I also like Harle a lot. Too bad she really ended up being a bad guy.

  • when I played and beat this game, the final boss I fought was called the Time Devourer

  • Wow, the field wasn't even all green and you almost died.

  • There are valid arguments for calling this boss "Time Devourer", but I think it's just a programming error (I think I read somewhere that it was called "Dragon God" in the Japanese version).

  • This battle theme is EPIC WIN. Were getting closer to the end folks! ^_^

  • I love the OST that plays during this battle.

  • epic music is epic

epic LPER is epic too :P

  • The Time Devourer has a connection to a certain enemy in Chrono Trigger...

  • Another cliffhanger! Man, you time this videos well HC!

  • Wow, you took him down in a hurry. It usually takes two videos for people to take him down. You got him in one (with a bit of fast-forwarding)

Also, "Dragon God" is definitely my favorite music in the game.

  • I vote best boss music ever!

  • Speaking selfishly, I wish there were time to have battle + story today. But, if there is any battle in this game that deserves its own episode, it's this one. As always, thanks for the entertainment.

  • 9 minutes of my precious life that just felt like 2 minutes... god dammit we need moar! :P

  • I think you should know that the Time Devourer is an evolved form of the Dream Devourer in the DS version of Chrono Trigger. But then again, I don't think you played DS version of that game.

  • I was expecting the Star Trek TBC thing to show up but maybe Im getting rusty with my HCBailly predictions...

  • The "46 of 48" Star Level count is fairly subtle foreshadowing that we ain't done with this game just yet.

  • No, it just means he used two summons, hence 46 of 48 instead of 48 of 48. He also hasn't fought the Criosphynx, so that would be 49, right? I'm not sure what 50 would be.

And if the Dragon God is labeled "Time Devourer", is the next guy your gonna face gonna be labeled "Dragon God"? Trying to ask this without spoiling things too much, but how can I say this...Ah, nevermind.

When are you gonna fight the Criosphynx?

  • @183Jonah I'll be fighting Criosphinx next, and since it is optional, you do not get a star level for it.

  • It's 46 because he cast summons.

  • It seems so ironic that the Time Devourer gives you an "Earring of Hope."

  • Wow, that was a long bossfight, with all that colour-changing.

  • Wow, that dragon looks so weird and the music is good but i'm not that into it. :D

    Anyways great episode Hc.

  • I like this battle theme... a lot.
