  • @thedukeofjohno I believe it's C, G, Am, G, Em. There's a link to the tab in the video information text below the video.

  • great job where can i download your cover or mgs i ve looked every where

  • If you mean where can you download an audio file of this tune, you can't. Itunes might have Booker T's old recording. Or you can download this video and extract the sound track.

  • yeah. this is a GOOD song.

    man. you rock. seriously

  • you are my hero! what a song!

  • you kno what you should make a cd of your work i know many people would love to have one it listen to including me.

  • Wow, very nice version! I agree with you that the organ wrecks the original version. The part you played is the only part of the song that interests me. Like many others I was introduced to this song through 'Be Kind Rewind', but partly also through an artist called Buck 65 who samples it in a song called 'Untitled'.

Anyways, very nice version and I appreciate you posting it. Nice to listen to on a cold Melbourne night.

  • Thanks. It's nice to see this old tune get some attention. Now I'll have to check out 'Be Kind Rewind'. I missed that one.

  • I heard this song from Be Kind Rewind. then found the songlist for the soundtrack and then found this.

  • I love this tune!

I love how you play it!

  • link is dead

  • The link seems to be working now. Want to give it another try?

  • I have been a fan of Bkt&mgs since the sixties, but this song was certainly different from their usual style. Will check out the transcription. My finger style may need some practice for this one. I may have to slow the video down for some of the right hand techniques. ;<) thanks keith

  • Booker T :)))) that guy from wrestling? (just joking)

    great song 5+

  • Awesome job playing an awesome song! Thanks also for providing the tab, I was worried no one would have it. Keep on rocking!

  • Thanks for commenting on the least-viewed video on youtube. It's nice to see the poor guy get some attention.

  • Hello!

Thanks for the song and for the tabs, I searched for them everywhere, but couldn't find. Now I can play it too=)

    Thanks,

    Andrew.

  • You're welcome. Have fun.

  • Hey there,

Do you have a tab for this anywhere? I would like to learn it, it sounds great. if not I understand.

    Thanks,

    Rachel

  • Indeed I do. I'll add a link to it in the video information text. Check back in a day or so. You're the first to ask for tab on this tune. You must be a person of excellent character.

  • Truely nice, i like this very much!

    Good night!

  • Thank you. There are now ones of us who admire this little tune.

  • Well done! This is a very nice song, I really like it.

  • Thanks. Now there's two of us.

  • very nice, sir!

  • Hi Mike! That was a new one to me... sorry for my ignorance... :) But I'm happy I heard it for the first time fro you!!

    Thanks a lot!

    Peo

  • I guess Booker T's music didn't make it across the atlantic. At least, not past England.

  • Booker T and the MG's music is famous all over the world, oldwhtman. The guitarist that originally played that is Steve Cropper. He's considered the finest R&B/Soul guitarist in the world and he wrote and/or played on some of the most popular R&B/Soul songs of the sixties. His resume is astounding. The song you played can be found on an obscure album they did in 1970 called Melting Pot. I'm a guitarist and I never thought I'd have the opportunity to learn it. This video is great. Thank You.

  • Thanks for the education. I like to know who did what, so that proper credit can be given. I haven't listened to the original version in decades, so it may contain some inaccuracies.

  • well played sir that sounds good :)

    Regards,

    Himanshu

  • Thanks. I don't recall what else was on the album. This was the only tune that caught my interest as it featured the guitar. The song is ruined for me when the organ player starts up.

  • Very nice Mike. I like it a lot. It sounds a bit like Wishbone Ash...rock with a folky slant to it.

Was "Soul Limbo" on the same Booker T album? It was the b side to Green Onions I believe and is a great tune.

    Regards &

    Thanks for posting,

    Paul

  • that was realy nice ..
