  • Point blank period. Proven facts...unions offer MUCH better training and a better product in the end for customers. SAFER JOBS..are more than half less likely to have a serious accident at work. Do more for our communities...set standards for prevailing wages. Made overtime pay, 8 hrs workdays, pay raises, pregnancy leaves, workers comp., so ask yourself what has a union ever done for me then do research. Actually youtube water has unions done for me. They protect us from rotten corporate scabs.

  • oh and those billions are just in california. 49 more states to go

  • I have to fix the problems they created

  • ...doesn't mean your any good at it. Not to mention since that was implemented by the Unions they including the Schools and the Division of Apprenticeship Standards are raking in over a billion dollars every year just for electricians. What about Plumbers, HVAC, Iron Workers, etc.? It's a big money maker that does nothing for me as a Non Union Employee, yet I have to shell out money just so I can work and watch "Newbies" ,if you will, fuck things up at work, make as much money as me, and then...

  • set a level playing field, which in turn took a piss all over anyone reputable who had any integrity. While I value my reputation and wit above others, Many others think that "certification" is a means to an end. Their Ethic and Purpose to work aren't changed by certification, but now they make a hefty dollar as i do. I was told being certified would create a competitive wage, but really it just payed those without knowhow and ethic more. Just cause you've been singing in the band for 30 years..

  • I argue against Unions not because of a global competitive issue, but because of a domestic competitive issue. Keep in mind I don't hate unions, but I do hate some of the things they have done to my field of work. I am an electrician that has been working since the time I was 13 years old. I am now 30. I have never worked for the Union because they have done some shady things to me personally when I tried to get hired by them but that is beside the point. Requiring employees to be certified...

  • What we are witnessing today is not class warfare. Its class cannibalism. The middle class needs to stick together.

  • if you know your history then you cant deny the Union Made the middle class ,.... opinions are not worth the air you took to spout them if you dont know your history , and the ignorant comments here , give me pause , are the proles worth the effort ? they are their own worst enemy , the elite dont need to fight when they can turn the working class on itself .... you are killing it L ......

  • I don't think unions are past their time but I don't agree with some the practices. I worked for Communications Workers of America when I worked for GTE for 8 years. People should be judged and awarded to some extent by their contributions. I worked in a clerical department and there were times where 1 person was 3x more productive than another worker. But if a layoff occurred, the person with the least amount of seniority would be cut. That is not in anyone's best interest.

  • Over the years, unions have become soft and paper tigers. Corporations and big business are greedy moneywhores.

It's a "race to the bottom" for the average worker. Bend over, workers!

  • Might I suggest you shave and cut your hair (or at least comb it) before making a political video? You'd get more sympathy. Clean-cut people like myself have a hard time trying to "click" with a self-imposed hippie appearance. Furthermore, unions have passed their time of usefulness. There was a time when rotary phones had a place in every house, and we'd not have digital phones if it weren't for them--they predated the internet!--but rotary phones have passed their time of usefulness.

  • @HomelessOnline Good boy. Cut your hair. Move to the suburbs. Fit right in. Sell out your fellow man and your dreams for a couple more dollars at a job you hate. Wear the brand names that represent status. Good boy.

  • @LeeCamp2 - You know nothing about me. Those statements could hardly be applied to me. How is pointing out your unkempt appearance "selling out my fellow man"? Whatever you do, keep it on a personal level: don't respond to any sensible statements, assume everybody who disagrees "hates" you, and if all else fails, fall back on insults. If you can't stand the heat, don't make a statement that's begging to be challenged. Make videos of yourself yakking off or something. (Oh, that's what this is!)

  • @HomelessOnline you a fool

tell me how can power to fight for your own and every other peoples health and rights as a human being in a work please EVER out live its usefulness? You mean people should just expect horrible working conditions and low pay like a good little slave animals? The only people who find unions useless and the people who never liked them to start the people in power who are only interested in money. But I’m sorry the workers of the world will always find them useful.

  • @dexdrako - Hopefully you can speak better than you write, but I'll have to wing it: It's not an either-or situation. We're not restricted to unions OR horrible working conditions and low pay. I was never a union member and I've long held views against them and their methods. I don't know where you come from, but here in America we call them "employees," not "workers" (like GD socialists and communists do), and yes your hole in the earth might need unions, but America doesn't need SEIU.

  • The slaves in nazi germany would have liked to have union representation to protect them; as would the slaves in the deep south, as would the slaves everywhere. Why would anyone want fair wages, safety protection, benefits, vacation time, a pension for your old age? The greed of the owners must be held in check; I have seen it all of my life.

  • Look at all the jobs going to China and other countries, then put down your book and face reality. Why is it happening?

  • @harkinfan Hahahaha, "put down the book." Yep, STOP gaining knowledge about the situation!! That will never help anything!!

  • Show me ONE Union worker that works for Minimum Wage. If you can't. then don't give them credit for creating it.

  • @harkinfan Read "A People's History of The United States." Then you'll no longer be in the dark.

  • Rock on!

  • The reason Switzerland can offer higher wages and a higher standard of living is cause they don't compete in all goods, they produce high end goods which you can't get anywhere else. If you are worker and high wages, you need to produce value added goods, not all goods are created equal.

  • Although, wages can be higher than the relative productivity of the worker, and that's the problem. Wages don't need to hit the level of China, but some changes do need to occur, we can bargain all we want but if stuff doesn't get sold jobs are not had. Assuming that if we deregulated employers would rush to throw workers in a grinder, it's not necessary.

  • Nice rant, but you never address the point about how to address global competition, sure we can refuse to try to compete with foreign factories, but that doesn't change the economic realities, we need to produce to be able to trade with out nations. Although we don't need to have a horrible working environment to compete. The US has accumulated the lot of capital so that one worker, can do the work of dozens of foreign workers, which is why they should get higher wages.

  • Anyone who thinks america australia or any other country where we respect people's human rights is supposed to compete with virtual & real slavery, is clearly an uncreative idiot... & I say that with full confidence, because if they had the slightest amount of creativity, what they would see is that if a business employs slaves, you beat them in the market, not by doing the same, but as Lee said, by doing things BETTER. Your failure to do so, doesn't make your opinion true, it makes you an idiot

  • America got rich using the doctrine of high wages. What happened?

  • I have an idea for sweatshops: air conditioning! That's simple. 14 year old boys working twelve hour days? "Yeah, but they're comfortable!" Hedberg.

    Stellar moment Lee!!!

  • " The strength of an arthritic jellyfish"....that's funny. Thanks. :)

  • Lee - you nailed it, I've been trying to think of the phrase that best describes Obama and the Dem weak sauce - arthritic jelly fish is perfect, but perhaps too generous. I think perhaps complicit is closer to the sad sad truth.

  • @tcdowning666 Thanks. And I hear ya.

  • Error, try again

  • I'm wondering how the foreign automakers who have plants here in the us get by without unions and why their employees get paid good wages?

  • @JerryTheHeretic

But you didn't think of finding out for yourself, did you?

  • @jaluck Oh trust me I know why! You just keep on believing that it's just a coincidence that the auto makers that had financial problems are the ones infested with unions.

  • @JerryTheHeretic

Then you don't know why. Just another simple corporatist sockpuppet. Don't forget your nickel.

  • @jaluck fallacy ad hominem

  • @JerryTheHeretic

You don't even know what ad hominem means. That's it. You've got your last shiny Koch nickel from me. Go bother someone else.

  • Go Lee. Clarity? You bet. Told my supervisor I was going to set up an appointment for an lobotomy. He asked, why on earth? Yeah he did. To which I replied that, all my coworkers has already had theirs.......Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

  • @telcod Ha, yeah, I've worked in some offices before. I know what you mean.

  • Yep I'm in the sheet metal workers union and I have to work on the other side of the state because of scab workers taking all the jobs by working for less then nothing. Thanks for the video

  • @Overkillii Plus it's just sad that the corporations are willing to hire the scabs.

  • Outsourcing jobs to China, India, Vietnam, Thailand etc... is just the new acceptable form of slavery. Except slaves were occasionally treated with some dignity. Americans still benefit from what is effectively slave labour by proxy.

  • @Steve7508 But no, they don't call us employees anymore. They call us "associates" or "friends of the family." So that means we're not slaves, right??

  • with unions you get paid based on how long you worked there, you should get paid based on how good a job you do. collective bargaining is basically socalism.

  • @aj19bcx Well, taking modern unions bureaucracy out of the equation and boiling it down to what the phrase means... a group of people not happy with someone that holds power over them and collectively bargaining for a better deal... I think the socialist part is the company that expects everyone to work for the same wage, chant their company name, and do everything for the "greater good" of the company-over their own self-interests and needs.

  • Great moment of clarity, love the way you mix comedy with truth, making people laugh is truly a gift and when you can do it with the information you have its a miracle!!

Here in England we have lost pretty much all our unions and yeah the world runs so much better now doesn't it ? Man sometimes people just cant see but we can't blame them, the corrupt gov and media do such a good mind fuck that people just switch off or give up trying to make sense of it.

    Love and peace

  • fuck government unions, fuck school teachers and fuck the DMV

  • @clint0nify Ya fuck the people who educate the future generations

  • @rolingpingu a mind filled with nothing is closer to knowing the truth than a mind filled with falsehoods. no education is better than our current public education. teachers only teach you to be what they want you to be, no teacher is gonna tell you that you would be a good porn star or an illegal arms merchant. teacher unions do not educate they only indoctrinate the children with pro-government propaganda.

  • @clint0nify Why would they tell anyone if they're gonna be a good porn star or an illegal arms merchant?

  • @MarijuanaMichelle I couldn't agree more. Time for a revolution! The hell with Wall Street, the hell with the banks. It's time for people to come before profit!

  • @merchan5967 People before profit is so key. And it's been completely lost.

  • @LeeCamp2 Indeed it has. Unfortunately I don't think the American people will understand this until we ourselves are working in sweatshops.

  • One thing that bothers me about people that hate unions... Unions are why we have a minimum wage, benefits, breaks, lunch time, weekends, vacations... all those things. There is no FEDERAL requirement for mandatory breaks, and meal times. Without unions, or the fear of people unionizing, companies would take far more advantage of us than they do. I've had jobs that don't allow breaks or meal times, I don't get vacation, and I'm honestly lucky I get a weekend already. Don't allow it to get worse.

  • @Airphel Couldn't agree more.

  • i think i can't watch ur videos anymore it just makes me too sad and i can't do shit agains the things u mention

  • @Williraser Hey Will, I hear ya. The stuff I talk about makes me depressed too. And I'm certainly not going to tell you to avoid taking mental breaks from it. However, don't give up completely. Things have to get really bad before they get better. And we need people like you who are smart and aware. ....Keep fighting.

  • Nice new Youtube, and why da fuck does this sounds like a rap?

  • @rolingpingu I'll take that as a compliment. Too bad I can't keep a beat.

  • @LeeCamp2 That's too damn bad, indeed!

  • unions suck!!!!!!!

  • @kdwjunior33 Damn, here I thought I had a great argument but you really put me in my place with your stunning logic. I mean, how many exclamation points is that? 7? Maybe even 8?? Fuck, can't argue with THAT many!

  • @kdwjunior33 and you "Suck'" Pucker up..... and blow me.

  • Great stuff, love moments of clarity, stay cool you fascist prick;)

  • Swear to god you pull thoughts directly from brain good sir. Keep up the great work
