@pjthunder123 No, there not as good as they sound in my opinion, i would say Erdnase is the best source, not because its classic, but becasuse it realy is the best source to learn a good bottom deal.
@JoNsmagic I often deal a strike bottom from the Erdnase grip. It may sound contrary to the crux of the move, but it works for me. I regularly deal from the mechanic's grip, and my ability from this grip (mechanic's) far outweighs/exceeds my ability with the Erdnase grip. One day I may undertake the task of perfecting the (original) Erdnase bottom deal, but as of now i'll stick with the mechanic's grip.
Your critsism was very thourogh, as to criticism 3 i would say its not a tell as long as the other cards are being piched in this case there is nothing to compare it to since the action is different, if there all being dealt down you can deal the tops with the hand tilted to the same angle that way even when you do the bottom there will be no dipping action because the hand will be held at that dipped position through out the deal. The deal was pretty damb boss though, no finger movement.
One thing that Vernon would talk about doing is, instead of just pulling the top car back with the left thumb, he would also pinch it with the right index finger and thumb as the middle finger went underneath and took the bottom card. This creates a tension on the top card so that when the index and thumb let go, the top card is almost shot back onto the deck as sort of a recoil. I find that this is even pretty deceptive if you deal slowly. Hope this helps.
Hey Dan. I am working on my bottom deal that i learned on A.Buckleys Card control book. The grip described in it is in a mechanics grip. In Erdnase it is with the two fingers on the front of the deck. Witch one is easyer: Mechanics or Erdnase?
@DTSmagick they are two completely different deals. Erdnase is a push out, mechanics is a strike bottom. As I have no personal expreience with the mechanics grip deal, I cant tell you.
your bottom deal is very good, way better than mine and many others I've seen.
Noise is an important factor, but I'd say that if the sound of your tops and bottoms are not different like night and day, you already are at a good point. My suggestion would be adding noise to your tops, but I'm pretty sure there's no need to, you knew about that already. ;-)
One thing I want to suggest you is to try using your right index finger in order to hide the front short side of the deck...
@AntonioZMagic Thanks for your input antonio! I've been working on the sailing bottoms. it's alot different than just dealing them to the table I gotta say!
You've gotta realize that none of the things you listed in the description matter unless you are performing for: a) Other magicians, or b) people who work in casinos to spot cheaters, so you don't really need to worry about it.
In my opinion the slight tilt for the bottoms are a tell and should be removed. However, this action reduces finger flutter so I guess it is up to you to choose. If you can get rid of it without having too much flutter I think you should. The deal looked very nice though, good job.
Looks good. The light swish is a tell but only to us and those who are familiar with the bottom deal. I deal mines from a mechanics and I still have that same problem which im trying to correct also. So far I have not been called out by laymen but by other cardmen. I dont use the tilt too often and if I do its very sleight. If the cards are old enough I would use the tilt or if someone is sitting at the extreme right during a performance. Just my exp
@UnknownMagician93 As of right now the ideas that are in print is what im working on ex: making all your deals sound the same type thing. There is one idea I have been toying with that seems to reduce the noise to almost nothing. Im still testing it if front of people and the mirror. I will see if I could get it on private vid soon but I have been busy
I think the tilting is not a huge tell but it is a tell nonetheless. May I suggest that for your rhythm, try aiming the cards being dealt from the top, so that it is more realistic to an in game scenario. Nice job though.
@TheMrmagic711 the point of this video is to recieve critique. No one can rightfully critique a video, where i shoot the bottom deal 10 times, and pick the best performance and upload it for a 20 second video. That is the flaw with youtube magic. To recieve honest critique, it is imperative that one upload multiple perfomances, with any errors left in.
pro :)

...in this way, you can't really notice the distance between the top and the bottom card as you deal.
I'd like to watch you sailing the bottoms to the other players, as well.
Other than that, kudos to you! :-)
