and by that I mean that Metallica was maybe the biggest influence to Dream Theater, just like Metallica is soooo different then Venom but actually Venom was BIG influence to Metallica. You cant just say what band sucks and what doesnt cause many bands come from the same roots. Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Sodom, Kreator, all from the same source of metal and Dream Theater is like a son or grand son of these and meny other bands, so stop fuckin arguing about bands!!!

Fair call skippyasqueeze but you can't put Dream Theater and Metallica in the same category by any means. One is thrash/ heavy metal with elements of rock/blues/country and the other being progressive rock/metal with everything in between. With both bands, you'll either love them or hate them. I for one love both for their differences plus it's all round just fucking great music.
